If you like Match 3s, you might like this, but I made the mistake of looking at the picture and hoping it was a TM game. In the area where you need to search for items, it's really hard to spot the items which led to a high level of frustration for me. The music is also horrendous, and luckily that's solved by turning off the sound.
I've played Twistingo since the first one came out about 20 years ago where we had BINGO balls and cards. What the heck is this nonsense with finding objects?? That was a tiny part of the last couple of games, but not the real reason to download and play.
The dialogue is cheesy and unfortunately you can't scroll through it fast enough. The graphics are pretty good -- not great, but not bad. However, as I said before, this is NOT Twistingo -- it's just a hidden object game with no planning.
Today is going to be wonderful because Emily and Patrick are back with the kids, her feckless sister, Angela, the ever hilarious (and hapless) Francois and the rest of the Snuggleford group. I've missed you guys!!! Even missed the Mouse.
It's loaded perfectly, game play isn't glitchy, hidden objects can be a tad challenging to find but you don't get knocked down points for mindlessly clicking to find them.
For me, it's the perfect game to just enjoy. I play a level or two, and then do something else.
First off, the accents. You have twins, but it's like watching the Parent Trap because the twins don't have the same accent. The police officer is a caricature of a New York detective with a thick East Coast accent.
It's just too much the same thing over and over with the games, with the exception of Christmas -- but even then, too many similarities.
For once, could a developer not have a rent-a-wreck being used on a dark and/or stormy night? Another thing that really is irksome is that if you use a tool, why doesn't that stay in your toolbox? In the real world, just a hammer, duct tape and screwdriver are the constants, so why can't that happen in a HOG world?
I could only tolerate a couple of minutes of this game. The pixels are too small, and while one of the power-ups is really good in solving the puzzle, it doesn't recharge fast enough to keep the boredom at bay. This might be a good game for anyone under the age of 10.
This review is based off of playing the game for 10 minutes, which is my benchmark for what I'm going to buy.
Granted, I am so tired of these games where the player starts off in a vehicle on a dark and stormy night until they crash into a tree or ditch, and then wander around, not saving the screwdriver or hammer for other parts of the game (and, if a developer can explain why a character wouldn't carry around a couple of simple tools to solve a problem, that would be appreciated). This game is funny, light and reminiscent of Snarkbusters (or, at the very least, Leather Goddesses of Phobos). It's difficult enough to be fun but easy enough to not get frustrated.
Now, back to the game. If my husband comes to look for me, just let him know I've been kidnapped by aliens to solve puzzles.
The graphics are dated, the game play is easy and it would probably be a good one to relax with because it doesn't require too much gray matter to solve. I guess the best thing I can say about it is that it's not a typical HOG -- it doesn't start with the player in a car, driving through a scary countryside on a dark and stormy night, and then crashing just before reaching your destination.
I haven't seen this series before, or maybe it's just that I will play almost anything that is Halloween related. Very basic instructions at the beginning of each level, but no explanation as to why we need to collect suns. It's basically just a point and click game.
