Usually I enjoy most solitaire games especially golf and pyramid but this one left me scratching my head and wondering what's going on. I did all I think I was supposed to do but as far as I knew I didn't get any clues.
Graphics are ok but not great and the characters are just there to let you know something is going on.
I'm not going in to a lot of detail as some do but I will say that this is not a game to play even if you like solitaire.
I don't recommend this one at all.
Play the demo and decide for yourself.
Have fun!

I played this game once before and, for some reason, deleted it. Down loaded it today and played again and now I know why I only played 20 minutes before. This has to be one of the most boring match 3's out there. I played one level that took forever to get all the "special" blocks just because there aren't any bombs or line destroyers or anything that helps. Can't even reshuffle and, believe me, I clicked on everything I could find for help. I did hit the help '?' and all it said was 'if you are having trouble clearing the blocks, just restart the level'. Yeah, like I want to go through that again.
The graphics are not the best and the animation is slooooow. You make a match and seems to take forever for the blocks to move. Very, very boring.
I have said this before and I'll probably say it again, I am not a match 3 fan but I will keep playing them because, occasionally, a great one comes along. Unfortunately, this is not the great one.
I don't recommend this one at all despite the 5 star ratings.
But, play the demo and decide for yourself. It might be the great one for you.
Have fun!

I've played literally hundreds of HO games on BFG and most have been pretty decent but this one 'went nowhere fast'. Opening cutscene is where my doubts first surfaced and nothing improved from there. This is one of those that is so typical these days in that all you do is flit back and forth between scenes and basically accomplishing nothing.
Graphics are not on the professional level and are hard to look at in places.
Of course there is a baddy but even he isn't scary as you anticipate. This is just overall bad.
Now the talking horse is another story and that story is a joke. Supposed to help you in your quest but first thing it does is gets scared and runs off and then is captured by a plant of all things. And the voice needs work.
I could go on and on but I won't other than to say play the demo and decide for yourself.
I don't recommend this one but some might like it.

2 things got me on this one, first, it's developed by one of my favorite gaming companies and, second, it's one of my favorite varieties of solitaire-golf. I can play this type all night and I have with one of my other games.
This is a fairly fast paced game if you make it so or you can play at your leisure. No time clocks to deal with, all you have to do is get all the special cards to win the level and that is determined by the choices you make. Of course you have to get 'em all before your card stack runs out thus the choices you make determines this.
Graphics are ok but not great. They need to be a little bolder and a smidgen more color. I like the many different card back and front choices you get to make which helps liven the scenes up.
All in all this is a nice game and I recommend it.
Play the demo and decide for yourself though.
Have fun!

I played the demo for 12 minutes before I gave up from sheer boredom.
First, this is not a match 3 game as defined, it is a mindless click on groups to clear blocks to finish the level. Continuous clicking like this makes my mind go numb. There is no real goal that I can see.
The graphics are rather amateurish and not that well done and the sounds of breaking bricks or blocks or whatever is very monotonous and never changes. A nice 'boing' or 'clank' every now and then would at least break up this monotony.
I gave this 2 stars rather than 1 because, like 5 stars, I don't believe there are many out there.
I don't recommend this one even for the match 3 lovers because, like I said earlier, this isn't a match 3 game.
Play the demo and decide for yourself.
Have fun!

This review is based on my second playing of this game. Evidently I played it before but became frustrated with it within the first 7 minutes and quit. However, this time I played the complete demo and found the game fascinating if you can disregard the obviously fake accents. This is one of the biggest turnoffs for me in this game (maybe that's why I only played 7 minutes first time) but it is something that can be overlooked.
Some of the scenes are a little amateurish and could have been improved but the story moves along at a fairly rapid pace and there isn't that constant back and forth that is so prevalent in HO's these days. The only real back and forth is to the darkroom but that is necessary and not an inconvenience as some suggest if it is done the correct way plus it advances the story with helpful clues.
Some of the HO's can be a little tricky but not impossible and the mini games are fun
Graphics are bright and cheery and dark and sinister in their correct places. Music just adds to the overall enjoyment.
I recommend this one if you can get through or dismiss some of the quirks.
Maybe not a 5 star game but not a 1 star game either.
Play the demo and decide for yourself.
Have fun!
I recommend this game!

I had played this once before and it popped up again on my "Games You'll Love" list so I tried it again. Glad I did. Have to help the main character clear his grandfathers name after he was accused of being a pirate and thrown in jail.
This is a different sort of HO in that there isn't that much of a story rather the thing is the HO's and they are nice and varied and interesting. Some of the items are easy to find and others require a little work but none are undoable. I like the robbers or pirates or whatever they are popping up occasionally that you can shoot to get more clues. So far I think 3 is the limit.
Graphics are great and in nice detail although sometimes a little dark. Can't tell about the music because I didn't listen to it-I tuned it out while playing.
Another feature I like is having to go to a different area to get an object to finish the previous area and the clue that comes up letting you know you need to do this. However, this is NOT one of those run back and forth games just for the sake of finding useless objects. You actually do progress in the story.
I highly recommend this game especially for the HO lovers out there. Don't let the fact that it is just a HO game throw you off, there is a method to it's madness and I am a fan of this one.
Play the demo and decide for yourself.
Have fun!

They call this a match 3 but it isn't in the regular sense. What you have to do is rotate the links to make chains of at least 3. There is no swapping or hints which is ok. You have to reach your goal or I guess something happens if you don't. I don't know because I have always hit the goal.
Graphics are great and colors are nice and bright which I like.
Music is of the jazz genre and I find it pleasant and easy to listen to.
I have played the complete demo and now I have to decide if I like it enough to buy. Haven't tried all the game modes yet so I may use a credit and get it.
I highly recommend this one because it is a good leisurely game to play and fun for the kids too.
Play the demo and decide.

Just finished the demo and I am as frustrated as ever. If I have to look at another newspaper or letter or piece of paper lying around I will scream. Usually you might look at maybe 4-5 of these in the whole story but 2-3 in each scene (little exaggeration but not much) is a little much.
The story line goes nowhere fast. First you as the detective, or good friend or world renowned sleuth or whatever you are, is abandoned by the coach driver then is pushed into a ravine by a spirit then almost falls back in when rope breaks but is miraculously saved by the person she is supposed to help and all in the first few minutes of game play.
What amazes me in all these games is the hero/heroine falls but never gets hurt. For example, one of the lead characters has a wall fall on her and traps her legs but does she scream in pain? No, she nonchalantly sits there waiting for you to free her. And when you do and she stands, her clothes and hair and everything is still perfect.

The graphics in this one are about average for this caliber of game and did not jump out at me as great. Colors aren't too bad because there is a nice mix of light and dark.
HO's and puzzles/mini games need work though. Despite what some may say the graphics on the games and HO's are extremely difficult for me to see. If it wasn't for the hint I would still be on the first one. Then again, some of them are so easy you wonder why they were even put in.
This next item has to be one of my biggest pet peeves in a game. That is the constant back and forth doing and getting things to go back and do something else and on and on and on. That's as frustrating as the paper.
The lead characters are, of course, women which I have no objection to except for the fact I am male and I would like to see more male LEADS and not just the ones that cause all the trouble. Given a choice at the beginning of the game would be nice.
Even though there are some 5 star reviews, I don't happen to agree and don't recommend this one at all unless this type of game interests you.
Play the demo before you decide and don't let reviews sway your decision. Buy or don't buy based on your playing.
Have fun!
I don't recommend this game.

I am a Mahjong fanatic and I enjoyed this one to no end.
The graphics are great and the music is soothing if you turn it down.
This developer does have its little quirks but they don't harm game play. In this one you have to get all the gold tiles in a certain number of moves but, as the puzzles progress, this becomes more difficult and eventually gets to the point of impossible to accomplish. You just keep playing until you get all the gold tiles but you don't get the max points. But you can always go to relaxed mode and not worry about that.
I love the variety of puzzles in this game and no 2 are the same.
For the Mahjong lovers out there, try this one, I think you'll like it as I do.
Play the demo and decide for yourself.
I highly recommend this one.
