Join in the race as teams battle to be the first to reach the summit of Mount Everest. Explore the mysteries of the world and find clues to support your journey.
This is another of the supposed Hidden Expedition games that is suspiciously not in their realm of play. I think someone is pirating the HE name and sticking it on their junk in the hopes of sales.
I don't understand any rating over 2 stars on this one despite the gamers saying they have all the HE games. I have quite a few and I can recognize a bogus game which I think this is.
That said, don't even think of buying this one. Starts out with this HO game that has items you can't identify, hints that don't recharge (you have to find gems to get more) and a time limit. NEVER had a Hidden Expedition game with any kind of time limit at all.
The next one, no story line in between, is some guy surrounded by snowmen cooking. Then this voice emerges and sends you on your way. Now, this is supposed to be Everest, right? Well one of the next HO's is in the jungle. Didn't realize Everest had a jungle on it's slopes. Don't know where it went after that because I quit out of disgust.
I do not recommend this one at all. Please don't waste your money or credits. Big Fish has hundreds, maybe thousands, of games a lot better than this one.
I wouldn't even recommend playing the demo it is that bad.
I am a big fan of HE games but this one left me wanting. Graphics are typical for this developer and the characters are well drawn and believable as are the voices. However, Sam needs to look into changing careers-he's forever in trouble.
Story line is pretty basic and straight forward but that is where the fun stops. This one soon slipped into the back and forth scenario that is so prevalent in HO's these days. However, I'm kind of surprised with this one because I've played it before back when HE was putting out decent games. Something happened on this one.
Another thing I didn't agree with is the logic in this game. You are supposedly helping this billionaire in his quest but he has just met you yet he gives you full access to every part of his empire with no questions asked as if to say "I'm lazy as heck and now I have a lackey to do my work." Plus he is not a very good organizer. Nothing is where you would expect it to be and, come on, using a scissor lift to access an important control panel? That's going a little too far in the search and quest angle.
I'm not here to say this is a bad game, just not one of HE's better ones despite what some of the long winded reviews say. I recommend this one with reservation and say play the demo but try not to be swayed by the good and bad reviews. Have fun!
Definitely not a 5 star but not a 1 star either. So I'll just pick the middle. Started out weird in that I glanced away for a second and looked up and there was that opening staring me in the face and I thought something is wrong with my computer or the game but then it continued and I realized it was part of the game. BTW, the skeleton reminding you to play with sound is hilarious.
This game had me wondering whether it is worth it to continue and I did just to see where it went. The souls you have to save are everywhere but getting there is a task.
There are some really annoying HO's and games that seemed to go on forever and the speaking parts are way too long but you are almost forced to listen to find out what the heck is going on and as soon as you get to the amusement park this shifts into your typical jump back and forth hidden object game and becomes boring fast.
Graphics are dark and all over the place. No rhyme or reason here. Characters are a little bit of a joke also. Drawn just above cartoon level along with the personalities to match.
I can't recommend this one even though some of the earlier Redemption Cemeteries are pretty good. This one falls short on all aspects.
But, play the demo and decide for yourself. Have fun!
This is an unusual game to me. True, it is a familiar scenario-kidnapped to asylum, experimented on, set up to die, escape- but I still like it. Story is easy to follow and flows as smoothly as something this sinister can I suppose.
Characters are believable and there is no cartoony animation anywhere.
Ho's are fairly easy with just enough challenge and the puzzles and mini games are great.
Only time I had to use the strategy guide was to set the manikins fingers. For some reason that one went right over my head. Old age is my excuse and I'm stickin' with it.
Graphics are darker than most which is not my thing but, in this case, they work and are actually preferable to bright and airy.
I didn't get as far as I would have liked in the demo because of the manikin issue which frustrated me but I will probably buy this to find out the predictable (yes) ending. I wish they had an SE version so I can play again. At least I couldn't find one yet.
This is another read the reviews game and play the demo. Between the two I think you will be pleased. And, yes, gentleman from Manchester, we do know what a lift is.
I recommend this game and it is going on my buy list.
Travel from the deepest trenches of the Atlantic Ocean to the awe-inspiring wonders of Mars as you solve the greatest archeological puzzle known to man: the origin of Atlantis.
Obviously this is a good game based on the 240 4&5 star ratings and I can't help but agree. I like the story line and the smooth way they brought everything together. Believable? Only for the true SciFi fanatics. Girl dies and through the miracles of future medical discoveries, she is brought back to life 150 years later to help on the Atlantis discovery team. Story flows pretty well and everything heroine does brings you closer to a happy conclusion. Sure there are the 'find this to get this or do something else to open this' type of things but they are not annoying and they push the story along. Graphics are above average and the few times you see the heroine (can never remember their names) she is gorgeous. I read the 16 low rating reviews and they either have no idea what's going on, don't like this type of game or are just trying to sway people away. This is one of the very few games that I will say look at the good reviews and heed what they say. They are right on with this game. The HO's are not hard but they aren't easy either. Haven't had any puzzles or mini games yet but I'm sure they are in there. There is not much I can say against this game other than I don't own it YET but I will. Obviously I highly recommend this game but play the demo anyway. Have fun!
Those reviewers with the low ratings just don't get it. This is not supposed to be some earth shattering 5 star game. It is just a "Let's have a little mindless fun" game. It's not meant for anything but fun. True you do have to know a little physics to determine where the balls will go after they are hit and how hard to hit them but it isn't rocket science. I enjoyed this game because I like figuring where something will go after it is hit and what the consequences will be. Hey, maybe I am a rocket scientist. I recommend this one if you want something to keep you moderately interested and not overly stimulated. Let your grandkids play it, they'll zip through it in no time and make you look bad. Naughty grandkids!! Play the demo and decide for yourself but, above all, HAVE FUN!!
Story may be good but getting anywhere is a task. You have the HO's but some of the items are so small or hidden you can't find them even with the hint. That's another thing, why can't the hint button go straight to an object? It swoops all over everywhere before finally settling on the object. This can be very distracting.
I will say one thing, the girl who is trying to find her dad is very attractive. At least they got that right. The "uncle", however, seems to be a real sleaze ball.
Graphics are ok and are between the dark I hate and the light I love. Seems to be sort of a 40s retro look.
Game play is very tedious and cumbersome. First there are the small, difficult to locate items in the HOs and then there is the constant back and forth and one thing I found, when you look at something and it brings up that additional window, you have to hit the 'x' to get out. there is no click outside the box. I know that is small and trivial but it gets on my nerve.
This must be a long game because I played half the demo before I was kicked out and the girl had just finished making the spiked coffee.
I can't recommend this game even though some of the reviewers said this is made in the old school type of game (don't know what they are talking about) but play the demo and decide for yourself.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, don't buy just because of a couple good reviews. Be careful, there are better games available.
I very seldom give 1 star or 5 star ratings. The games have to be either extremely bad or truly epic. This one falls into the first category. I can't, for the life of me, figure out the 5 stars given this game. For obvious reasons I don't think this is a true Hidden Expedition game. I have the feeling it is by some other company trying to capitalize on the series or else the developers had a really, really bad day.
The graphics are some of the darkest and worse I have seen in a long time and the characters are a joke at best. This is not the quality I expect from Hidden Expedition and that is one of the biggest reasons I think this is bogus.
The story is almost impossible to follow and has no point other than you are trying to deliver a letter to some 300 year old girl.
Another of my biggest gripes is, after you "build" the rocket you have to put in the code, "corn dog" to open the door. Well I spent countless time looking for the stupid 'd' only to come up empty handed. I even went to the strategy guide which, by the way, is almost impossible to read, to find out where it is and the Big Fish forum with no luck.
This is one game that I wouldn't even recommend the demo unless you have a lot of time to waste. I would leave this one alone and go to something with a real story and is fun to play.
The expedition continues... Track down the fragments of King Solomon's crown and foil a madman's plot in this exciting follow-up to the bestselling series!
One of my favorite developers has fallen short on this one. Hidden Expedition usually comes up with some great games but this one has fallen into the now, for some reason, popular back and forth, back and forth genre which I hate. I want to play this type of game and feel like I am progressing in the story and not just wasting my time. And there are some actions that make no sense at all - like setting off cannon when you are trying to HIDE from the bad guys.
Graphics are not up to par with what I expect from this developer. Some areas are great yet others are way to amateurish. The characters are well drawn, though and the voices are human.
The HO's are a little on the easy side for me but some of the mini games are worth playing.
Can't comment on the music because, even if I let it play, I usually tune it out and don't even realize it's playing.
What I can't understand are the reviews that are bad but are based on playing the full game. If you play a bad demo, don't buy the game. I have played just about all the HE games and own quite a few and this one will not be on my buy list.
But play the demo anyway and base your purchase or not on this and not the reviews. I don't recommend this one but you might like it. Have fun!
A little disappointed in this Hidden Expedition game. I'm surprised with all the 5 star reviews which is something I only give on truly epic games which are few and far between. Usually the HE developers follow the given story pretty well, have helpful HO's and mini games and are fun to play. This one started right in on the back and forth mess so prevalent in HOG these days. I dislike that immensely. If it doesn't help the story move on then don't waste everybody's time jumping all over. This is obviously a later Hidden Expedition game because the earlier ones were more down to earth and not "find the object" obsessed. The HO's are fairly nice but not spectacular and the mini games are fun. Graphics are typical Hidden Expedition quality and nice and bright which I like. This may be a buyer for me but I'm going to try the CE version first before I decide. I recommend this by saying play the demo first and don't base your feelings on the reviews only. Have fun!
