This sequel to the Flux Family Secrets didn't disappoint. I liked everything about it. You have your normal HO scenes but then you also have to find items that are displayed in your toolbar below. I enjoyed the combination of HOS and adventure and some objects are cleverly hidden. You still have to look out for the flux symbols just like the previous flux games. The graphics are good along with the voice overs. This time there seems to be more "cut scenes" than usual, sometimes through playing a tape or just clicking on a person. Very enjoyable game so have fun!
I only played the trial but I loved this game! First of all, I love the whole theme of the game being about dogs since I'm a dog lover and it also changes things up from having the same basic storylines over and over. The details in the graphics were beautiful and as you find the HO's, its kind of cute how the item evaporates in the form of a "paw". The puzzles were fairly easy and the adventure kept me interested. Good game play!
What a cool game this is! There's so many aspects of this game to enjoy. The storyline is good, the voice overs are good, the grahics are beautiful and when it comes to action, it's fantastic! Not an overwhelming amount of HO scenes which is a real plus and they are somewhat challenging which is another plus. I like how the little dwarf is not only your hint logo but how he comes alive to narrate the stories. You get achievements which I like and you also look for little statues along the way. This is a very engaging and even kind of scary game with the "live" statues and I love it!
Overall this was a pretty good continuation of the haunted hotel series. I played the expert version of the demo which seemed fairly easy. The graphics were done with smaller details than some games but still well done. There were a few more HO scenes than I would like to see but at least there was some adventure included. It was interesting how when the time was up for the demo, it went right into previews for the rest of the game as a selling point. Not a bad idea and a good way to promote it. I don't care for the game enough to purchase the CE but maybe will buy the SE version when it comes out.
Even though the game didn't fill my screen, I did enjoy playing it. It had an interesting storyline about a little girl waiting for her music teacher to come but before the teacher could get there, the little girl was abducted. Come to find out, other children are missing as well. You are investigating the case and looking for clues to find the children. You have to also collect masks along the way which are easy to find. There's a good balance between HO scenes and puzzles. Some objects can be very obscure and hard to find and some puzzles a little tricky which is always a good thing to challenge you a little. The background music fits well and real looking characters are used. Overall, a pretty good game to play.
One thing about this game is that it does keep you interested in what's going to happen next. The background music is well adapted to the theme of the game. One thing I didn't like though is that it wasn't widescreen. It bothers me to see a game in a "square shape" on my big screen monitor that doesn't fill the screen. Another negative for this game is that when the people talk, their mouths look really weird and the gardener's voice was terrible! I did like how you also had to look out for photos and cards plus you were awarded achievements for various accomplishments. That's good to have a lot of things to keep you busy and less bored. Overall, it was a pretty good game!
I agree with other reviewers that this jewel quest didn't quite come up to the standard of what the more fun jewel quest games have been. It does seem to be at a slower pace and just not that much fun. I've always loved the jewel quest series games but this one does seem to fall a little short. I just didn't want to chance wasting my money and wind up very disappointed. Hopefully, the next one will be better!
For the most part, I did enjoy this game. There were more HO scenes than I would have liked to have and they were frustrating because it was hard to find some objects, those kind that you swear weren't really visible but you just happened to click on it by mistake, ha! Graphics and sound were pretty good and always a nice plus when you get awarded for doing certain things. Don't think it necessarily is worth the CE but might consider the SE later.
I recommend this game!

Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart Collector's Edition
Dive into an epic journey as a museum owner in pursuit of an undead pirate who has kidnapped your daughter in Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart!
This was a well developed game! The graphics are very rich and crisp looking and the music and voice overs sound professional. I like having the option of either searching an HO scene out versus playing mahjong to get the object rewarded to you. There were also unique puzzles to work out. The game itself wasn't too difficult to figure out along the way so that was nice. Some of the pirates were very realistic and kind of scary but all the more to get engrossed with the game.
Rescue a young girl from the Penumbra Motel. Solve puzzles, unravel a long standing mystery of death and disappearances in this heart-pounding adventure game!
This game was interesting in the way that it didn't have HO scenes per se but you did have to find objects to use later. The use of real people was done well and it had a mysterious storyline that kept you strung along. This wasn't exactly the most fun game I've played but was pretty good.
