I was quite disappointed. It was very beautiful, but so was the old one. One reviewer said it was not for beginners. I actually thought it was fairly easy. I finished the trial in 31 minutes and only used a couple of hints. But it did make me think about playing the original. If you never played the previous version, then you will probably love this.
There is no female avatar but there are 3 cartoonish white men to choose from. A huge oversight by the developers! Better to put your name in. That said - the game is refreshingly different - though I wish there were some instructions since it is hard to figure out how to get some of the hints to refill. And I do agree this is aimed at Americans. Fishies from international waters might find it quite difficult.
I own all the rainbow mosaic games. I found this one more difficult than the previous ones, but helper is getting old. There is one big difference between this game and the rest. In the other games, you could make one mistake and still get credit for a 'perfect' game. Now one mistake counts against you. Unless the next game is the next in the Detective series, I will not be buying it.

Would have been a good game for Halloween. Why so late?
Plus Side - Nothing different from any other Robot Helper game but a good way to pass the time. Puzzles do seem to be based on logic.
Minus Side - Music was really terrible. Story was boring and confusing with far too much reading.
For those who stress over getting all the awards: Don't 'buy' anything until you have the award for coins. You can replay the HOGs as many times as you want and rack up the coins.
This was exactly what I expected. Old school point and click HOG. Bright and colorful but rather boring. Some items were quite cleverly hidden. There is a story, but if I want to read full pages, I would rather read a book. I did not run across any items that did not match the description - the key looked exactly like a key. I have simply come to expect more from BFG. I strongly suggest you test before buying.
I have (I think) all these games. I only got this one because I had to use a free game coupon and there was nothing else I wanted. It is no different than the others - even the introduction to each level uses exactly the same words.
On the plus side - it is logic based. At no time did I have to use a hint to solve a dilemma. Would be good for a beginner
However - all puzzles were quite easy to the point of being boring. There are way better mosaic games available - think rainbow.

I got though most of the free hour. I cannot come up with much good to say except graphics were clear and movement was smooth. I do not want to play bad HOGS (think Clutter) or Mahjong with poorly designed tiles when playing solitaire. Nor do I want to 'assemble' a clue by simply turning puzzle pieces - at least there could be a challenge. I also resent being forced to replay a solitaire board till it is cleared. Getting down to 1 or 2 tiles after multiple tries s/b enough. There are loads of much better solitaire games on BFG. I own and replay many.

I was very disappointed. I love games based on books and this started out very well. The graphics were great. The HOGs were mostly very easy. The puzzles were either extremely simple or had such confusing directions they were not worth struggling with. Both the basic game and bonus game were way too short and ended abruptly without resolution. Don't waste your money.

Not sure about this one. The pros and cons just about balance each other out.
Pros: Wonderful, smooth movement. You can make matches while stones are dropping. Good playing choices - Casual, timed or limited moves Decent graphics
Cons: Every board has to be 'loaded'. Story is told by conversation between 2 characters. That's OK, but you had to click in two different places to move the story along. I did not care for the characters. Why are all women portrayed wearing low-cut bustiers?
I played on Casual - so I have no idea how difficult it will get.
I have not decided whether to use a coupon or not. I suppose I could skip the dialog thus avoiding the characters.

I really enjoyed this. The story line was different and some of the HOGS had a twist I have not seen. However, I found the bonus game very, very short.
