Plot: Girls are being abducted, and you, the detective, have been hired to investigate. As always, I don't like to give the plot away, as it is part of the intrigue.
Options: Sound FX, Music, Voice, Full Screen, Custom Cursor, Mute all Sounds.
Extras: Strategy Guide, Bonus Mystery: Uncover the truth about abductions from 100 years ago, Wallpaper and Music.
Other Games by these developers: The Missing: A Search and Rescue Mystery Strange Cases: The Lighthouse Mystery Strange Cases: The Secrets of Gray Mist Lake Strange Cases: The Tent Card Mystery
Difficulty Levels: (I always play in Easy to review) Easy – Skip and hint recharge in about 30 seconds and there are sparkles in active zones. Normal – Skip and hint recharge in a longer period of time and there are no sparkles. Hard – No Skips, Hints or Sparkles.
Hidden Objects: Fairly easy to see, few and far between, some items in red require a bit more effort to find.
Puzzles: Many more puzzles than hidden object scenes – no too hard so far.
Conversations & Walking: People who like pure HO will not take to this game. It requires that you speak to many people, and there is quite a bit of walking around. Adventure gamers on the other hand, this is similar to some of the new Sherlock Holmes games.
Map: There is a map which shows where you are and areas of interest, but it will not allow you to navigate and it takes a bit of effort to understand.
Strategy Guide: 1 Chapter but it seems like it will be a fairly long game.
Overall, the game seems well done to me. I thoroughly enjoyed my time.
I recommend this game!

Fairly Twisted Tales: The Price Of A Rose
To save her father, Bella vowed to stay with the beast, but is he truly evil? Help Bella follow her heart!
Retelling of Beauty and the Beast. The story is well written, audio and voices are excellent and appropriate. Graphics are average to excellent (depending on the area). This game is part Adventure, part puzzle, part HOG and part iHOG. Yes, you do collect lots of items and have to figure where to put them, there is some back and forth trecking however you are provided with a navigatable map. So far everything has been fairly easy, but totally enjoyable. I'm going to get it.
I recommend this game!

Dark Mysteries: The Soul Keeper Collector's Edition
Charles Dexter Ward summons you to the island of Pawtuxet to stop a revenant from murdering the townspeople.
Some scenes depict dead bodies so don't recommend for children.
Hidden object game with a fairly good storyline based on the book The Case of Charles Dexter Ward from 1927 by H.P. Lovecraft. Puzzles, although not as prevalent as the Hidden Object scenes were very enjoyable. Yes, lots of back and forth.
CE has 6 Chapters plus one Bonus chapter. Demo is Chapter 1 only.
Extra items are a Strategy Guide, Concept Art, Bonus Chapter, Behind the Scenes (making of...), plus an E-book of The Curse of Charles Dexter Ward in PDF, EPub or Kindle formats.
Options for Resolution, Custom Cursor, Effects, Full Screen along with Volume Settings for Music, Voice and Effects. Games has 3 levels of difficulty.
Overall, I rather enjoyed it.

Phantasmat: Crucible Peak Collector's Edition
A disastrous avalanche... an evacuation... did anyone survive? The ski trip you've dreamed of for so long turns into a nightmare.
Storyline: Not to give too much away, you are on a trip of a lifetime to the Swiss Alps to go skiing, when the unimaginable happens – an avalanche. To make matters worse, you have a gopher(?) that is sabotaging your progress.
Options: There are options for Music, Sound, Voice, Custom Cursor, Full Screen and WIDESCREEN.
Audio/Graphics: Music is effective for mood, everything is easy to see, game has a few cinematic “visions” and voiceovers are well done but the accents are laughable.
Difficulty (Can be changed during game): Casual – Clear hints with no penalties at all. Advanced – more challenging with fewer vague hints and a click penalty. Hard – Hint and skip recharge very slowly, active zones are not indicated and black bar tips are disabled.
Task list: Indicates what needs to be done and % of game completed.
Game Options: You can lock Inventory Bar from auto-hiding and you get a magnifier to enlarge inventory items.
Strategy Guide: For demo purposes, there are two chapters in the game or 16 pages.
Map: So far in the game I have found a map, but it isn’t interactive (yet?)
HOG: Hidden objects are clean, crisp and fairly easy to spot. Some items require extra interaction to find them. You can at any time play a fun Match 3 game to find your items.
Overall Impression: Well done. For hardcore HOG people, there is a bit of walking around and revisiting areas which is typical in adventure games (which I prefer), adventure gamers, not to many HOS, Puzzlers, the puzzles are reasonably challenging and either different or a new take on the common fare.
I will most definitely purchase the Collector’s Edition of this game.

Golden Trails 3: The Guardian's Creed
Track the treasure and solve the riddles of the past with Golden Trails 3: The Guardian’s Creed game!
Same hidden object type game as we have come to know from the other Golden Trails titles - LOTS and LOTS of hidden objects, but this time with occassional mini-games (so far easy). You can shoot random badguys with a crossbow to pick up hints, travel from location to location via a map, and collect fleur de lis and other bonus items. Some screens cannot be completed without traveling to another location to aquire more inventory items.
Graphics are well drawn, but can be difficult to see for tired 'ol eyes. Storyline is excellent. You get attacked from behind, and wake up in a Tavern with a bump on your head and a fresh brand on your arm. What happened?
Enjoy.

Patchworkz™
Patchworkz is a relaxing jigsaw-puzzle game with competitive elements.
Drag and drop puzzle pieces acurately on to a stained glass puzzle. No rotation of pieces was required during demo. You are "graded" on completion, acuracy (no misplaced pieces) and speed (2 minutes or less). Once one puzzle is complete, you continue onto another.
Graphics are gorgeous, Music is zen-like but became bothersome after a while like it can do at a spa for those of you who are like me : ).
I liked it, but my overall enjoyment was okay. I would have appreciated it much more if I could have played without the acuracy and time elements and had the music been more varied.

The Beast of Lycan Isle Collector's Edition
Luna’s friend calls her to a remote island after unearthing ancient mystery. Now together they face the cult of the Wolf Man.
Not a hidden object game! Lots of walking around to find items to complete fairly easy but new puzzles, and graphically very well done! Map is easy to follow, but not navigatable as far as I can tell. The hidden object scenes are not a list, but a visual clue to find large items on the screen for use in a puzzle. There is a growly face click penalty, but just appears momentarily on the screen.
My guess is, this is the beginning of a new visual style for games. Navigation was amazing, a ghost hand helps you pick up items, the voiceovers and ambient music were excellent.
Strategy guide is 26 pages and keeps up with the game, 2 levels of difficulty - casual and expert (I played on casual for the review). Options for music, voice, effects and fullscreen. Adventure gamers will love the storyline, but hidden object gurus, you have to be curious enough to move around the map and screen to find your next objective.
The surely worked hard on this one.

Brink of Consciousness: The Lonely Hearts Murders Collector's Edition
Olivia has been kidnapped by the mysterious Lonely Hearts Killer who murders those suffering from a shattered love. Save her!
Game has a Watson/Sherlock Holmes feel to it. A gentleman and police officer work together to try and find the gentleman's missing daughter. Many conversations, and lots of walking around. The game gave me the sense that it is an old converted adventure game with an excellent storyline.
Audio/Video: Audio is pleasant and atmospheric. Game has a lot of talking but it is done with voiceovers - so not a lot of reading required.
Options beyond basics: Full Screen, Aspect Correction and Film Grain.
Strategy Guide has one chapter, but Bonus has something extra - interview with the developer.
Game Map is not interactive, but shows active areas and your current location. Highest difficulty level will turn off the map and sparkles.
Puzzles were fairly easy for the most part.
Enjoy.

Mysteries of the Mind: Coma Collector's Edition
Fight your way out of a coma by exploring your deepest memories.
It's a puzzle/hidden object/adventure game with a creative storyline. Yes, there is a bit of walking around and collecting things - LOTS of things which I enjoy. Graphics are well done, hidden object items are easy to see and a few need to be combined, light on the mini games throughout the demo, but quite a few puzzles to figure out. Voice of the main character is grating to me, but the rest of the music, audio and voices are well done. Based on what I saw, the game will be on the longer side. Definately worth a play!
I recommend this game!

Sable Maze: Sullivan River
Unearth your forgotten childhood memories to reveal the secret of the ancient labyrinth.
Game is a combination of Hidden Object and Adventure. Storyline:
Six children at summer camp have disappeared while playing at an archological dig of a Celtic Labyrinth. As an adult, you are still traumatized by the event. Due to horrific nightmares of an attacking tree, you seek the help of a psychologist who recomends that you return to the Sullivan River Summer Camp, the scene of the crime, to help you remember what happened.
Trauma Warning: If you are startled by ghosts popping up, then this might not be the game for you.
Options: 3 levels of play, Options for sound, music, voiceover, custom cursor, and full screen.
Music, Sound and Graphics: Music is atmospheric, Sound, graphics and voiceovers are excellent - top notch quality.
Hidden Objects and Puzzles: Butterflies indicate the location of hidden object scenes. They have made them interactive by having you find one item in the scene to use on another. In other words, find the key in order to use it to find the open padlock. Items are crisp and large for the most part. Puzzles are evenly balanced with the Hidden Object scenes. Some of them are new, and the "typical" puzzles have a nice new twist to them. Overall they are very well done.
New Item: They have added a new item of a locked inventory item. You might find a fishing pole, but it remains locked and inaccessible until you find the reel. Fun!
Tape Player: There are reels of video that you can find throughout the game that give you (in video format) the backstory of the game. No reading pages and pages of the journal.
Navigation, Journal and Hints: Journal is concise and helpful. There is a map that is used to navigate only, but does not show what areas have an active scene. Hint button can also be used to tell you where to go with no penalty, but if it indicates a task, will have to recharge - 30 - 60 seconds depending on level of play.
I purchased the Collector's Edition of the game and played it all the way through. Well worth my credits.
