In the first level, you help the Princess acquire items for the ball by playing HOG scenes, finding tickets to play action/aracde games, ocassional FROG scenes and finding gumdrops. Arcade games (pop ballons with darts, knock over items with ball) require speed and dexterity in order to obtain a small, then medium, then large gift. You must get to a large gift in order to find the item for the ball. Once that area of the amuzement park is complete, you move onto an action hero section of the park and it all starts over except you are looking for hypnotic eyes instead of gumdrops - you get the idea.
There is a click penalty that will remove 10,000 pts. There is a navigatable map.
Unless you like fast clicking and repetetive tasks, you will not appreciate this game. Not for me.
I don't recommend this game.

The Great Unknown: Houdini's Castle Collector's Edition
Your honeymoon turns sour when a madman kidnaps your husband, forcing you to expose Houdini's greatest trick.
Game starts with funeral for a friend, jumps 50 years, a strange weapon aimed at the sky, a plane out of control, and you wake up at Harry Houdini's house. Basis for story is that person who kidnapped you is testing you to see if you are that "special person". Nuff said!
Game options allow you to adjust the music, voices and sound, and there are full screen, wide screen and custom cursor options as well. No options on sparkles.
Sporadic hidden object scenes are a combination of regular HOS and an association game such as carrot goes with rabbit. Some can be quite tricky. Large crisp objects, and no click penalty.
Mini-games are typical with a skip available after a short time.
Soothing appropriate music, strategy guide has 9 chapter plus a bonus, but game moves fairly quickly. No map, no diary, no morphing objects, but you do collect film reels for the backstory and there is lots of walking around.
Not my all time favorite, but a good effort.
I recommend this game!

Tales of Terror: Crimson Dawn
Rescue your abducted brother from eternal darkness in this thrilling Hidden Object adventure game!
There was a ritual, your bother was kidnapped, chasing kidnapers causes a car crash (sorry folks), and you must find your brother who has been taken to a mansion.
Three levels of play:
Casual - Quick hint refill and sparklines Expert - Twice as long hint refil and mini game skips Professional - No Hints, skips or sparklines
You have a diary, but no map that I found, great appropriate music, cinematic characters, excellent audio and no click penalty. The mini-games have been mixed in well with the hidden object games. Mini-games are fun but typical with a few variances mixed in. Hidden object scenes are well drawn with large objects, some items have to be combined, and there is no click penalty. Demo ends once you gain access to the mansion.
Very well done - good job game developers!
I recommend this game!

Dark Parables: The Red Riding Hood Sisters Collector's Edition
Discover the Red Riding Hood Sisters and defeat the nefarious Wolf Queen!
As a detective you must go to the Mist Kingdom to save the sisters of the Red Riding Hood Sisterhood from the wolf queen and her ferocious wolves.
Warning to those with small children - death scene at the start of game might startle sentive people or small children.
Excellent Audio, Artwork and Storyline. FROG (fragmented hidden objects puzzles) Hidden object puzzles include artwork of cute animated forest creatures. Mini game puzzles are fairly simple, but fun. Mini Map is available, but cannot be used to travel in game. Strategy guide not available in demo. On casual, hint meter recharges in 15 seconds. You are given task list of items to accomplish. There are 20 cursed object to find.
There are also several parables pieces to find to unlock five parable stories that give you background information on the game.
Overall - very well done.

Adelantado Trilogy: Book One
Discover the fabulous secrets that a jungle hides in Adelantado Trilogy: Book One! Help the brave and noble officer, Don Diego De Leon, to find and save the lost expedition.
Think of the game The Promised Land, and you will understand this game.
There are two parts, each with 5 chapters. Difficulty levels are: Relaxed, Easy, Normal and Hard. You have to discover territory, save survivors, collect supplies, find treasure, get magic oratory stones to talk to the natives, and collect secret journal pages.
Only downside so far is that you cannot save in the middle of a level or all progress will be lost, and there is not (as of yet discovered) a full island map.
I played for about 45 minutes when I decided to use a game credit and get the game.
I recommend this game!

Margrave: The Blacksmith's Daughter Collector's Edition
Embark on a thrilling rescue mission in the Town of the Cyclops!
This is a continuation of a previous story. Music is soothing, there are lots of puzzles, a navigation map and two hidden object piles that you return to. I was thoroughly entertained.

Mystic Legacy: The Great Ring
Uncover the dark legacy hidden within a Romanian castle to save your friend from an evil spirit!
Demo works until you save your friend, puzzles are routine, hidden objects alright, map sort of works to warp - at least you can get close to where you want. Demo's worth a shot.

Gothic Fiction: Dark Saga Collector's Edition
Rescue your daughter, Hannah, from the clutches of an evil witch before it's too late in this chilling Hidden Object adventure game!
But no hidden object games (so far). Different, but easy, puzzles galore, map, strategy guide, pleasant music, and demo has two levels available. I thoroughly enjoyed myself, but a bit GOTHIC, hence the title.
I recommend this game!

Inbetween Land
Your friend, Mary, disappears and it's up to you to save her. Uncover an exotic land with unearthly secrets as you find and help your friend leave the flying island.
Graphics are drawn, but very crisp, mix of Puzzle and Fragmented Hidden Object, but FROG with a puzzle included. For non-frog fans, BIG stuff to find. Journal, no map, fun puzzles, gears, steam pipes, and jigsaws. Hints recharge quickly. I rather enjoyed it. Biggest confusion was the elevator. Go in, change floors, LEAVE! Don't return to floor you were originally on first. Maybe I was still waking up. lol

To add to previous review, I found the music suitably creepy for the storyline, and yes, there is a little lag in the text boxes for the beginning of the story, but you can click to speed it up somewhat. I beleive there is more to the story that what I reviewed in my hour of gameplay, but I was exploring quite a bit. No, the puzzles were not hard or spectacularly original, and I did see areas where you could use "special" powers of somekind, but I didn't make it that far in the story. Lesson here... never walk away from a timed game to answer the phone without pausing - darn!
Strategy guide has two chapters in it, so I believe that is the extent of the demo, no map yet, no journal, but you do collect pages for a journal.
Suggestion for players - mouse over everything in the closeup scenes - lots of stuff can be hidden in those.
