Great game, good fun. The game is the all to familiar storyline. However, the main character had a different challenge in that she is very weak and needs to gain her strenght. To do this, she will have to find health packs to assist in performing tasks during gameplay. The beginning cutscene was exciting. Lots of moving shadows and vombie type characters that you must avoid. Rollover on Tasks Icon gives you quick view of tasks to be done. HO's were interactive, easy to see, with no overclick penalties. Sparkles indicated items to interact with. Mini-games were impressive with some thought to complete. Music fit the game theme.
All it takes is one hooded stranger on a dark road on your way to meet your sister to hook you into this wonderful HOG. You arrive at your uncle's inn and receive a distressing phone call from your sister. Your sister needs help and fast. Stormy nights, crackling lightening, bursts of thunder, doors slamming behind you and superb cutscenses. Cutscenes jump up fast and have you jumping. I got spooked a few times. All that an a bag of chips and that's just the beginning. This HOG has beautiful visuals and a strong storyline. HOs are clear, interactive and easy to see. Overclick penalties, recharging quick. Puzzles clever and not to hard. A good solid game.
Beta Tested this game and I enjoyed it. If you love dectective stories where investigation, following leads, discovering motive and finding bits of evidence lead you down a trail to discovery, then this is the game you'll enjoy .
Take a trip back in time and explore the beautiful mansion with charming and cunning suspects. You will need to put your "little grey cells" to work to find out "whodunit"
Pros: voice-overs: believable music: retro feel, ethereal, mysterious. gameplay: lots of discovery and sleuthing. Mini-games and puzzles to solve fun and not to difficult. A map helps to find out where you are and places to investigate.
Cons: HO's are cluttered and often hidden behind other objects. If it takes me too long to find them all, I start to lose interest. The map is great but it would be nice if it could be used to take you to another scene instead of having to backtrack.
Overall, I agree with other fishies and that this is a great game to wile away a few hours in the afternoon or with your morning coffee.
Wow! The beginning cutscene was thrilling. I felt right away I was going enjoy this game. Although, the game is the all to familiar approach to storytelling, the characters were believable and engaging, environments elaborate. At times it seems the charachters jump into the scene out of nowhere. Oh, hello where did you come from? The overall, storyline was well done and unfolded slowly. The HO's are clues to help solve puzzles. They are well put together and did not frustrate me. Mini-games were fairly easy and enjoyable. Music fit the game theme. Probably the only thing I didn't like about the game was the spot the differences puzzle. Since I didn't get penalized for over-clicking, it was bearable. But then that is just me; other fishies may enjoy this type of puzzle.
I have to say, this is now my favorite game so far this year. A must try fishies.
I agree with some of the other fishies, why all the negative reviews. So many of you have been asking for something diferent than the usual HOG. Pahelika: Revelations gives the gamer just that. A true adventure game. If you are an adventure lover, this game is well worth it. No hints or handholding. Put your grey cells into gear with some logic and wit then have a great time solving mysteries in the wonderful adventure game. Thanks BF for listening to your fishies and giving us a compelling adventure game.
Storyline different than most HOGs. A thrilling adventure to save a young boy from injustice. Puzzels were interactive. HO's were better than most. No overclick penalties. I liked that. Wonderful graphics. A lot of the usual things we expect in this type of game: locked gates, hidden keys, broken knives jammed in a tree, boarded up doors and drawers with no knobs but the game flows well and is holds your attention throughout. I believe I will purchase this game as I am having a great time playing it on a Saturday afternoon.
Finished it. Very unique. Definitly had to dust off some of the grey cells. Good brain exercise. I really liked the clever puzzles. You don't often see great games like this that challenge the mind. I have a large screen which made searching & finding objects easier. I can see where some fishies with smaller screens may have a problem finding some of the very small objects. Check the journal and also the detective at the bottom of the screen for clues. I say give this game a try.

This game is the best game I have played so far. There are so many elements, I just had to continue playing into the wee hours of the morning. Psychotic killer Oscar toys with your emotions and mind through this incredible game. Fantastic voice overs and clallenging puzzles. Not to many HO puzzles. Graphics are clear & sharp. Music matches the tempo of the game. Buy the CE as there is a surprise ending in the bonus game. Thanks BF. More of this type of detective game please.

Original. Loved it. What a change from usual psychological thrillers & overdone graveyard, ghost and ghoul HO games. Heroine is always one step ahead of the thugs in this refreshing mystery game. I liked the black & white scenes interspersed throughout the game. Graphics & sound clear, sharp. Game flowed well from scene to scene. Mini-games were challenging but not too difficult. Like reading a great mystery on a rainy nighty you just can't put it down. BF I would like to see more of this type of game. Don't know if there will be a sequel. Hope there is. Thanks BF job well done.
A great game which brings back the memories of childhood and belief in fairies, gnomes, elfs and magical places hidden deep in the forests. Spectacular graphics, music and storyline. A welcome change from the HOG. Thanks Big Fish & ERS
