This is just "meh" IMHO. Thanks for starting a new series, but no thanks to the same old game play. Bought and played the whole thing, (yes, "why?" I am asking myself) and the only thing I can say positive is "thanks for all new locations for the bonus game". The rest is uninteresting and formulaic, including all HOS and mini-games, Cut-scene after cut-scene in the first chapter or two, and the mix of characters really makes no sense, nor comes to any sort of logical conclusion in the Bonus Chapter. And what's with the creepy dude that keeps making me put my notes on a table?! Should have spent more time in the garden today than on this re-hashed old stuff somehow made new again. And saved myself $11 bucks (WAY too much for this game).
All my own opinion of course - enjoy those who might!!
Starting off, this game was no challenge at all for the first 40 some-odd levels. Hard to complete WITHOUT 3 stars. Then, suddenly, it seems that your progress depends on random hand-outs from goodie altars, which not only claim to give you 2 of a resource but really only gives you one (that's called a glitch) so without being able to build that resource (crystals mainly) completing with 3 stars becomes impossible as you're standing around waiting for the stupid altars to give you something you need. This game stinks IMHO first for the reasons that it was so stupidly easy and secondly for the reasons that it suddenly became impossible.
Last time I buy anything before trying the demo. ;(
It's the strategy that's missing here; the initial goal is to serve X number of customers; the expert goal is a monetary value. While it is mostly simple enough (despite the usual match-3 ridiculousness of not having any matches on the board for what your customers want) to achieve the normal goal, getting expert is a strategic loss for me. By my own calculations, there are not even enough stars available to upgrade everything in order to possibly meet the money goals for all levels. While certainly possible on lower levels, I have frustratingly re-started with different strategies yet all fail at some point leaving the player with absolutely nothing else to do. IMHO, this game stinks.
I really enjoy this series although I will admit that it is my least favorite thus far. I adore the graphics, the game-play, fantastic cut-scenes. What I have complaint with is the "dumbing-down" of finding collectibles (hardly fun when your cursor changes into a grabbing hand), the really simple puzzles, and a story line that kind of lost me (or lost itself along the way). Huzzah however for their great progressive HOS. I still highly recommend this game for its wonderful stylized production and flawless fluid game play, but unless you're a real fan of theirs (like me :$ ) you might want to wait for the SE. Try before you buy! Happy gaming All!
There is fairly bad and then there is truly awful. This falls into the truly awful category. Hand-holding to the point where you can't even explore an area, HOS around every corner (I encountered 2 within 3 minutes, at which point I quit#; just bizarre puzzles #why can't I complete this pipe puzzle without getting blown out within 1 minute?# There is more awfulness that would be a dirge to describe and I can't believe I stuck it out for 15 minutes. The Info collectibles are interesting but certainly not enough to save this terrible game. I am surprised that the devs #who are already known for pretty awful games) have not yet been sued for the rip-off of Rocky Horror.
I was SO excited to see a new "Cadenza" that I almost punched the "buy" button before I tried it. Boy, am I ever glad that I tried first. This has just absolutely nothing, nothing, that adored us to the first two of the series. I am so disappointed that I'm at a loss for words. I almost cannot really pinpoint my dismay, other than the puzzles were insultingly easy, and the HOS as the same. The story did not suck me in at all, especially versus the first two, and the originality that sparkled and sparked in the first two of the series, was so lacking here, that I have become rather skeptical of #this developer# as an innovator. I could not be more sad; I would not even purchase this as an SE. ;# only if a I had a PCC that was to expire would I purchase this, maybe#. *sigh* Remember when games were DIFFICULT!!???!! That was the POINT?!? We miss you developer that we're not allowed to mention...!!!
What fun to find this sequel to such a quirky, goofy, original adventure game!!! Granted, it is not the most brain-challenging adventure game out there, but is it ever fun and funny, and really just a hoot to play. I just love this offering. Thank you Orchid Games!!!!!!!!

At first glance/play, I thought "this is sorta fun, I remember the original which was rather addictive, a bit different, and good for a few minutes distraction at work". How I wish I could get my PCC back for this game. After over 2 stages #I don't know what else to call them - beyond the levels, which are forever, and then you finally complete one, and then enter another whaddya call it# they are all the same. The challenge is the same. Your tools are the same, which only serve to get rid of the webs of the silly spidery things, or the things themselves. There is no ability to do anything else. I constantly ran out of moves because the game play is so flawed that of course you run out of moves. And, hey, if you want me to collect 90 bananas, then put them on the game board!!!!! There is absolutely no story. Sorry, but this one is a stinker and avoid at all costs.

This, to me, was a really good, solid adventure/HO game by a developer that I don't think I have come across before. There were some inconsistencies and a handful of other game-play issues which I categorize as pretty minor and I don't think detract from over-all game play. I do wish I could have removed the sparkles, but a girl can't have everything I suppose! :-) And that was one SCARY demon!!!
No, this definitely did not rock my world. Graphics great; story-line good; game-play meh. There is certainly a bit of fun to be had here, but definitely didn't blow my socks off, and certainly not for the price. I suggest either waiting for the SE (as the collectibles are nothing but an achievement and the rest of the extras are a "who cares?" ensemble; bonus game not necessary #don't want to give away more in case of potential spoiler #which I don't think it would be but whatever##) or for a far better sale. All IMHO of course - happy gaming All!
