Based on the demo only.
This is a different take on a Match 3. You have to make matches of 2 or more from a grid inside another grid. Kind of hard to explain. Play is very easy, though. Try the demo to see if you like it.
You need to clear the inner grid of all its colored balls. Sounds and looks easy, but it's not. After I spent 38 minutes on the third level, I gave up. This game requires a LOT OF STRATEGY in the play to clear the grid, and I'm just not up for it. But give it a try. This could be a really good game for someone who wants to work this hard.
I recommend this game!

This is a review of the SE version which I have completed.
I found this to be a wonderful game. I love the way the "Bridge" games revisit some of my favorite fairy tales and this one does not disappoint. In revisiting many of the characters that Dorothy visited on her yellow brick road journey, the characteristics have been retained, but otherwise, they are all new renditions and a telling of the Oz tales far removed from the musing of Frank Baum.
I absolutely loved it. There were a nice selection of HOs, and while many locations were revisited, the nature of the search was different each time a located was repeated. I used a few clues because some items are very well hidden. A few of the games I skipped. I just cannot figure out 3-steps-forward and 2-steps-back games to miss the dangers and end up on a particular space!
Each of the four stories was similar in development but the characterization was so good that I was able to let that slight irritation go. So go out and find new magic in the Land of Oz.
(I may be after the CE to see what the bonus chapter is like!)
I recommend this game!

This game is a no go because you cannot opt out of the time/limited move requirements. Thankfully, I didn't buy this game sight unseen. I got to level 8 and was unable to complete it after several attempts.
I don't recommend this game.

Based on the demo. I love this kind of game. A great story that plays as if it were a movie. Terrific graphics with lots of interesting scenery. And I like the cut scenes in this type of story. Yes, the puzzles are the same as they ever were, but the collectibles and morphing objects are somewhat hard to find, which adds challenge.
The killer though is that you can't use an object until the game has decided that the story has moved to the point where the object is required. So even though I know that knife needs to be used to cut up a particular root, I have to complete a bunch of other tasks before I am allowed to do so. Even if the tasks would be completed in an illogical order if I did it the way I wanted to, I still want to do it the way I want to do it, not the way some artificial construct thinks I should do it.
So, I'm very likely not buying this game.
I don't recommend this game.

Based on the demo. This is a pretty straight ahead, easy game. Easy HOs, easy puzzles. Predictable play and story line. But the DOG. There is a DOG! They could have done the game without her, but if you've ever had a DOG, you need to at least play the demo. The DOG gets the game 5 stars from me. Do try it out and enjoy.

I played the demo of this game and LOVED it! I like Match3 games and I liked that this one is somewhat different from the run of the mill.
I think the graphics - '50's style comics with terrific color shading -- and the consistent music were good. The story is terrific, which is why I bought the game.
Now for the mistake part. The first level I played AFTER I bought the game is timed. I've played it over a dozen times and always run out of time. And you can't skip a level, even with a penalty. So here I am with a story I want to find out about and a game at which I am totally stuck. I don't like timed levels, but I don't hate them usually, and eventually I can get through them, but not this one.
SAD!
I recommend the game for the story and the different game play, but make sure you can live with the timed levels before buying.
I recommend this game!

Based on the demo.
Another great game from the same people who created Silver Tale. The game play is similar: a Match3 with assorted other challenges within the M3 boards. Find hidden objects, break barriers, uncover grass and sand. Earn resources and powers. Same engaging music - not sure if this is plus or minus. LOL.
Rebuild the lost city.
The thing that really caught me about this iteration was how hard it is to move around. The game boards are huge and you need to make matches to fill the power-up that lets you jump from one part of the board to another. Lots to remembers as well. The last level I completed in the demo, I forgot to go back and open a treasure chest.
The story is silly and the voice over dreadful, but they allow time to recover from the board play. You can also skip the silly story if you want. One more downside and I'm not sure if this is my Mac or something in the game development. Both SilverTale and this game use HUGE amount of resources, in my case, sometimes more than even the battery can handle. So I shut down EVERYTHING ELSE to play these games.
A huge thumbs up, and have fun!
I recommend this game!

This is a terrific strategy game. And not your typical time management click fest. Solving this game is difficult and requires time and a lot of thought. It might be helpful to have pencil and paper to draw out some of the various complicated relationships. I wish it were just a little bit easier.
I'm not going to buy this game. Not because it isn't good, but because it requires just too much work for a relaxing interlude. Please play the demo before you buy so you can find out if you want to immerse yourself in this level of difficulty.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME.

I LOVE these types of games. I have had some problems with games from this developer in the past, namely that you can't solve some of their puzzles without guessing or using a hint.
The problem with this one is that I have a Mac and the game can't seem to tell if I am left-clicking or right-clicking. With many repeats I got to Level 6 of the first Adventure and then gave up and deleted the game.
If you have a computer that has a 3 button mouse, go for it. The game should be fun.

Based on the demo.
This is really one of the best games I've played lately. Great story, lots of challenge, logical, lots of fun.
The story is great and the creatures are gloriously creepy, including Dupin, who has lost his rugged good looks and looks almost as seedy as some of the creepy, crawlies. (I like that change in him - he was just too cute before.) I like my games to engage me, like a good novel, and this one delivers in that regard.
That being said, I find I need to comment on the puzzles, which other reviewers classified as "easy." I found many of the puzzles to be very challenging, requiring a great deal of hand-eye coordination, as well as the ability to click fast. I was so frustrated by one of the puzzles (that took me more than 10 minutes of the 60-minute demo to solve) that I almost gave this game a negative recommendation. I'm still not sure I will buy it for myself.
Based on all of the elements, I recommend this game, given the caveat that if you are old, arthritic or have bad eyesight, you MUST demo it first.
I recommend this game!
