I am a little shocked at the bad reviews. Especially since this is an older game and not as well done as the newer games are. There is no custom setting for difficulty, but to my surprise the hint and skip are pretty quick to fill up. I think for the year this game was made the graphics are pretty good, not great.
I thought compared to other games the story line was just fine and the playability was really nice. I would recommend you try the demo first but I bet you like the game.
First things first...I thought the graphics could have been a lot better although that doesn't really take away from the game. I also thought the bonus chapter ended rather abruptly and it felt kind of rushed.
This 4 star game is still a lot of fun and I felt the HOP's were all good and a little tough which I like. I recommend this game to experienced gamers more than first timers. If you're new try the Maze series first to get a good feel for what a good HOG is truly like and what they are about.
I liked the level of challenge as it was fun but not too tough that it made the game too hard to play.
This is a well put together game. For a frame of reference my favorite series is the Maze series. This game to me is not as good as the Maze series but its still a lot of fun
Good challenges, nice hops and fun mini games. Try the demo and I'm sure you'll buy it.
First off I am writing this review in 2017 so this game is a bit older now. But if you're contemplating this game for purchase you should really have fun with it.
When you play an older game obviously the graphics and such will look older. So with all things considered I really like this game. I can imagine when it was new it was probably a pretty excellent game.
Hey if you wait for a bogo or you get your free game from punches (which is how I got this game) this game is fun and worth a play.
The parts of this game that are outdated will give you a chuckle, but all in all its worth playing so try the demo first and I bet you will buy the game.
You either love this series or you don't.. If you like the series then this is a no brainer. A great story line as usual and fun to play. HOP's are challenging and fun. I usually have to skip some mini games as they are too hard for me. This game was no exception buy by and large the mini games were not too difficult and the instructions were clear and concise
Graphics are so so but the overall quality was still good enough to earn a 4/5 for Visual/Sound Quality.
As usual try the demo and I think most people will buy this game..
This is a good fun game for beginners and experts alike. Easy to follow and a very cool story line to boot. The fact that there are mysterious monoliths around the world adds to the mystery.
I recommend this game regardless of how long you've been playing HOG's. My favorite series is the Maze series just to give you a reference. I haven't played the others in this series but now I want to. Try the demo and I'm sure you'll enjoy it enough to buy it.
Custom mode lets you set everything the way you want it.
I think the above reviewers all made some valid points about this game. So here's what I think...
There are some things about the game that aren't only illogical they are actually silly and make no sense at all. I typically find most games have some ridiculous parts to their logic, but this game took it to another level. BUT WAIT...
If you just laugh at those parts of the game and stick out the gameplay, its a good game. One reviewer didn't like the HOP's because they weren't imaginative. Well to me that's a plus. I like simple straightforward "where's waldo" type HOP's. I don't like some of the HOP's in games that try to get cute. Just list me an item and let me find it. K.I.S.S.
I thought the story line was great but the concept behind the story line itself was ridiculous. I mean really? All accidents from breaking a nail to plane crashes are all caused by evil...uhh no, sometimes s*hit just happens ok?
All in all its a good game and worth the buy if you can get it on sale like a bogo. Enjoy
I agree with the fist page of reviewers, I liked the game. Compared to other games on Bigfish, I thought this was a well designed storyline and delivery. I'm not sure what people are complaining about. Sure some parts were a bit silly in that they didn't make logical sense. Flying a kite inside a building and lightning hit the kite transferring the lightning to a statue of Zeus and scaring off a manticore inside the house. I don't see that happening in real life.
But most games on here have some silly logic to them. So I'd say buy it and enjoy its a cool game
