This could've been a good game - the storyline was good, but I found the HOS to be a bit too difficult, and I was playing on casual, and have been playing HOGs for a long time. I found that the difficulty of the HOS took away from the enjoyment of the game, and I was dreading finding a HOS. The puzzles on the other hand were quite simple - which made for a bit of inconsistent gameplay. The story was interesting, and grabbed my attention, so I MAY buy this game as a Standard Edition, I'm not sure. On the plus side the hint button recharged quickly. Another thing that annoyed me, and this is just a pet peeve of mine, but some of the objects in the HOS were not in keeping with the time period of the game. It kind of annoys me when you are playing a game that is set in a historical time period, but you find modern, or semi-modern items in the HOS. This is one that you should definitely play the trial of before buying, because you may find yourself disappointed. Definitely not worth purchasing as a CE.
I don't recommend this game.

This game just didn't do it for me. The graphics were average, the storyline hard to follow and the HOS were quite incomprehensible! There were too many for my liking, and also the ones that there were, were either too easy, or had objects that were impossible to find! One scene asked you to find numbers - these numbers were on stones like runes, but all, except for one, had the numbers obscured! If I hadn't used a hint I wouldn't have had any idea what I was looking for. Also in a 'find the difference' scene, I had to use hints, and when I was shown the 'difference' I still couldn't see anything! I only played less than 20 minutes before the number of HOS drove me out of the game. There are many other games so much better!
I don't recommend this game.

I am really enjoying this game. I played the CE and was sorry when it stopped after the demo. I didn't think it was quite worth buying the CE, so I've been waiting for the SE. As soon as the SE came out, I purchased it straight away. I like the story, the graphics are great, the music is good, although slightly monotonous, but you do have the option of turning it off. I liked how you gathered different powers as you went through the game. The mini games are just enough of a challenge without being so difficult as to disturb the flow of the game. The HOS are fairly easy, usually a junk pile, and one thing that I really like in a period style game, is that the HOS stay within the period, and this one does. This helps when searching for items - I hate playing a game that is set in the 1800s and tells you to find a phone, and it turns out to be a cell phone! The one thing that I would change about this game, is to have a map. The going back and forth can get very tiresome, as there is quite a large area to cover, and it can be annoying to pick up an item and have to scroll through 5 scenes to get to the place you need to use it. Otherwise I recommend this game to all HOAG enthusiasts.
I recommend this game!

I liked this game, I enjoyed the storyline and I liked the mix of live action video with the computer graphics. One thing I did find annoying was that there were so many HOS! Being an adventure story, with puzzle elements to solve, the HOS just slowed things down. Another thing I found annoying was that even when you had finished a HOS, that area was still clickable, so it made you think that there was still something to be done there. Once there was an item I hadn't picked up, but other times, there was nothing to be done there, which can become rather frustrating. I will probably buy this game, but only with a free credit or on a DD - I don't think it's worth paying full price for.
I recommend this game!

I was kind of disappointed in this game. I like the mix of solitaire and HOG, but there were aspects of the game that I found truly annoying. I found that the inventory items were pretty unnecessary. The most annoying thing was that if you had more than one card to fix with an inventory item, the item went back to the inventory, so you had to click on it again to take care of each card. I was thinking about purchasing it as it's the Labor Day Weekend sale, but I decided against it and will wait until it's a Daily Deal.
I don't recommend this game.

I've been waiting for the SE of this to come out, ever since the CE came out, but I'm a little disappointed by it. I loved Grim Tales: The Bride and Grim Tales: The Legacy, and was hoping that this game would somehow again centre around werewolves as in those games (even though the story was tied up at the end of The Legacy). Instead of werewolves though, we've got a demon preying on Brandon - the child from The Legacy. Once again you enter into the memories of the main character (Luisa in the first two instalments, Brandon in this one) and fix things that have gone wrong. Everything is pretty much the same as the first instalments, so if you enjoyed those, then you should enjoy this game - I'm just disappointed that it should go off on a different tangent from the originals. After all how much 'evil' can surround one family?
I recommend this game!

I liked this game as it wasn't your average HOG/Puzzle/Adventure game. The HOS weren't your usual junkpiles, but a mix of 'find x of hammers etc' and scenes that had silhouettes of items, but you didn't just find them, you had to find them in the right order to use them to help you find the next item, which I found to be a nice change. The puzzles weren't too difficult. The one thing I did find a little difficult was knowing when to use a particular item, and had to turn to the strategy guide a couple of times, as items weren't always used in a way that you would think they would be. The graphics were good, the music was a little monotonous, but it wasn't too obtrusive. Another thing I liked was that you found lire along the way so that you could purchase things in a shop, which would be useful to you. There were 3 play levels, Casual, Expert and Advanced - I like to play on Casual, as I don't like hunting allover to find my HOS. I liked this game, but not quite enough to purchase the CE, so I will be waiting for the SE, and will definitely pick it up then.
I recommend this game!

I loved this game! It's a great mix of HOS and picross puzzles! I loved the World Riddles games, and the World Mosaics games, and have been waiting for another one of them, but when I started to play Arizona Rose and discovered similar puzzles, I was rapt. Plus it has HOS with a great storyline too. Highly recommend this one!

I really had high hopes for this game - it looked like fun. The graphics were great, and I liked the storyline, but I only played about 20 minutes of it, as I found there were just too many HOS. The HOS were very interactive, a lot of putting things together, opening this - to find that - to use to get that, with very little return. I was hoping that this would be more of an adventure/puzzle game, but it was really just another HOG. And all those HOS just took away from the story, I didn't want to be doing another involved HOS in the middle of a good part of the story. Not a game I would recommend, unless you LOVE your HOS.
I don't recommend this game.

When I saw this game, I immediately thought 'Oh, I'm glad I have some credits', because I love games set in carnivals, but I was disappointed. I played the game on the Casual level, and there is an Expert level also. I found the game to be just too simple. It could be a good game for somebody just starting out with HOGs and Adventure games, but I really found the HOS (of which there were too many in my opinion) very easy. They were your usual junkpile of objects, and you got an inventory item at the end of each one. When you received an inventory item it was used quite quickly and there was no real challenge as to where to use it. The puzzles were very easy. The music was pleasantly atmospheric and not too obtrusive. There was a LOT of going back and forth, and although you have a map, it wasn't interactive which was quite annoying. I found the graphics to be reasonable, but I have seen a lot better. I won't be purchasing this game with a credit - I'll maybe buy it for a Daily Deal, but really only because I want to find out the ending.
I don't recommend this game.
