Spoilers Below:
I found the game overall to be a sort of sequel to Rewind, which also involves the Master Detective having to correct timelines and not actually interfere with them too much. I actually found Rewind to be more enjoyable, but this one wasn't bad either! I did get really confused in the Ravenhearst timeline that the girl dressed like Emma was actually Rose (I even looked up old screenshots from previous games to make sure I wasn't crazy!) so I was pretty disappointed that we didn't get to see Emma again. Other than that, it was pretty enjoyable. The bonus game was a waste of time though imo.
I recommend this game!

I used to purchase every new MCF that came out every year, but I've been so disappointed in them lately that I actually skipped the last few. I saw that the franchise had changed hands from Eipix to GrandMA and decided I would give it a shot. And boy am I glad I did! The puzzles were actually fun to play and I had to stop and think about some of them instead of just blazing through. I loved the mini-puzzles that were on the tablet that Master Detective carries around. LOVED the callbacks to previous cases and they weren't done in an overly obnoxious way like some of the previous ones were prone to do. Instead, they revamped an older narrative (I won't say which one in case no one wants spoilers) and gave it a fresh coat of paint in a way that actually made sense and it was done very well. For the first time in a long time with this series, I actually dropped my jaw a couple times with the story. So congratulations, GrandMA, you brought back faith to the MCF series and I will definitely be checking out the next one!
I recommend this game!

This is the most fun I've had with an MCF game since Dire Grove, Sacred Grove (meaning: it's been a few years)! If you're like me and are a fan of the older entries in the MCF series and the newer games just haven't been doing it for you, you'll love this. It's styled like the original Ravenhearst game's map, complete with door lock puzzles, and there's cameos from all over the series (except for 13th Skull, which I was disappointed about). There's so many Easter Eggs hidden throughout the scenes, it was a blast finding them all. Also this is the return of snarky Master Detective and their journal, something I have really missed! Some people will probably gripe that there's no adventure and complain about the shorter length (it took me about 4 hours to complete it). If you're like me and actually do care about the smaller details and about the universe/characters that this series encompasses, you will have fun with this. Great way to spend my afternoon, with a bunch of old friends. Glad to know that the original spirit of the series has not been forgotten. If future games have the same energy and care put into them like this one was, I may actually start looking forward to the new games again!
I recommend this game!

***SPOILERS***
This game was more enjoyable than the two games we got last year, so that's a plus. This game felt as if it were a standalone, which is fine, but I got disappointed that there wasn't any tie-ins with the previous games. We did get a shout-out to the Ghost Patrol team from the Shadow Lake game at least, but that was it. The 13th Skull makes but a tiny cameo in one puzzle, which was disappointing because I had been waiting and waiting for a game to bring back the plot thread of Charles Dalimar's maternal side of the family. The bonus game felt like a waste of time, it added no new information to the story. It was a good game overall and I did enjoy it, I just felt it had wasted potential for tie-ins.
I recommend this game!

I absolutely hated "Key", didn't think anything made sense whatsoever. This game is definitely an improvement, felt more like a Ravenhearst game. Answered a lot of questions that had been left hanging. I think it would've been stronger with live actors throughout, they had one tiny scene with some live action in it and I really wish they had used that the entire time!
I recommend this game!

The gameplay and artwork was amazing as usual. It was the storyline that failed to deliver for me.
Without giving anything away, certain things just didn't add up to previous installments involving certain characters, and only added more questions than answers. Nothing was really solved in the end, no explanations as to "WHY" any of this was happening. Almost felt like the twist in the story was just for shock value since they didn't bother to enlighten us on how or why these things came to be. The only thing that keeps this from replacing Shadow Lake as my least favorite MCF game is Benedict. Hopefully the next Ravenhearst game will explain more.
I don't recommend this game.

Well, I liked it better than Escape From Ravenhearst, that's for sure. Only thing is that I guessed the "twist" ending about halfway through the game, I didn't get that invested in the characters or the story for that matter. It seemed very easy to play, there weren't any puzzles at all and only one multi-scene HOG game per "chapter". I did like the use of the map though, very handy. It just wasn't as fun as say Dire Grove, 13th Skull, or Madame Fate (my three favorites). It was a lovely game to look at but it was kinda boring to play and it went by too fast.

Wow, I just finished playing and still can't believe how fun this game was! Very clever storyline and settings, amazing graphics, fun puzzles, this game had pretty much everything. The map is even interactive so you can shortcut your way around (I love those kind of maps!). The only glitch I think is that, on my game anyway, the further along in the game you got the more out of synch the voices and the subtitles were, but it's not a big deal. Achievements were fun to get, and you even get your very own office were you can spend the "currency" of the game and buy cool stuff to decorate it with. Really fun! Definitely going on my favorites list!
I recommend this game!

Ok, so you've heard this one before: bride-to-be has to save husband-to-be from evil so-and-so or something really bad will happen. Thankfully that aspect of the story doesn't even make itself a big deal, I kinda forgot at times that I was playing a princess at all or that there even was a prince but that was only because the rest of the storyline and the gameplay was THAT good. The story about this certain fantasy world was very well done and fleshed out that it felt pretty real.
The gameplay consists of mostly puzzles and the usual "find an item and figure out what to do with it" set up, there's not a whole lot of HOG's so those of you who get tired of doing those will be happy. The puzzles are pretty unique to the game for the most part, some of them are the usual kinds that you see in EVERY game, but they're not hard to figure out. Some are a little too easy but there's a couple that I had to skip on.
You get a journal that takes great notes, no map but you don't need it. I think there's ten chapters and they take you a while to get through them so it's a good length game (more than 3 hours for sure). Bonus game is definitely worth the CE price, that just exemplified out the experience for me. The other bonus content (music, wallpapers, screensavers, concept art) aren't really worth looking at, I wasn't impressed with any of it but the bonus game was definitely worth the price.
Anyway, if you like fantasy-style games and actually want to play a game that is immersed in its world instead of what your predicament is, check this one out for sure!
I recommend this game!

This was a very well made game, almost as good as the Mystery Case Files series. The live actors integrated pretty well with the backgrounds so you couldn't really tell there was a green screen (like you can in the Ravenhearst series...just saying). The storyline was interesting and the puzzles were pretty unique. I loved Elf the dog!!!! So adorable and very clever idea. I assume you get to keep him after the game since he's still in your inventory at the end lol.
The map was definitely of help because the area is large and there's lots of places to go to. I didn't play the CE and I think maybe in that one you do something with all the owls you keep seeing, but in the SE (the one I played) you still see all the owls but I didn't get what the connection was. Oh well I still liked seeing them, I love owls :)
The only thing I wish we could have had was a journal to keep up with all the clues because there are quite a large number of tasks you need to complete and sometimes you wouldn't find the items you need until like an hour later. I had to keep pushing the hint button to remember where to go!
Also, I didn't really like the way the game ended. SPOILERS********** You spend the entire game trying to save Sarah from the man and it ends with her still with him. Made me feel like I wasted my time to be honest. But it was still great game and I had fun playing it. This was my first time playing a Mystery Trackers game I'll definitely play more in the future!
I recommend this game!
