In Shattered Minds: Masquerade, a young heiress has been kidnapped days before her wedding by the magician Visage. For reason(s) unknown, he has unleashed a fog (Can't they come up with something more original than that?) which takes the faces of the victims. You play as a New Orleans detective investigating these bizarre happenings.
This game has great graphics, on par with games like Hallow Legends: Templar, and the face of Visage is really quite frightening. It gives the game a very creepy feeling. The music and voice overs are well done also. The hint and skip buttons filled quickly. Even though the hidden object scenes were the standard junk piles, they were pretty junk piles.
The game is not perfect though; I had problems with the fact that there was only one mode to play. Another problem was the fog plot device. I have seen it in a lot of games lately and I wish they would come up with something more original. The mini-games weren't all that challenging.
All-in-all, the is a great game worthy of 4.3 stars.
I recommend this game!

This is an awesome game! I was rather surprised; I expected it to be just a rip-off of Flux Family Secrets: The Ripple Effect. But even though this game has a similar plot, it creates a world and atmosphere all its own.
You play as Esther, a young orphan. She has recurring dreams about a tree and an old mansion. At the start of the game, she receives a package from a long lost aunt. In it is a picture of the mansion she dreams about, and so begins her adventure.
To start, the graphics are really wonderful. You move through different times and visit the same locals, but each scene is rich and clearly identifiable. The time machine integrates a map that tells you what room or time you need to visit. No need to wonder where you are or where you need to go next. The game can be somewhat confusing at the start, but the hint system is robust, so you really shouldn’t need to use it too often. If you think that this game is too easy, don’t be fooled. There is enough challenge even in the casual mode that should keep you interested in playing. Another great surprise for me was the voice acting; it’s really quite good. Nothing overly dramatic, and there are no endless screens of dialogue to click through. I think that the walkthrough is very good, too. (Though I don’t recommend paying twice the price for a game when BFG offers one for free)
Where I think the game kind of falters is the mini-games. They are routine and offer nothing new. Despite this, I am going to get this game (SE). I’m sure other gamers will appreciate this game too.
I recommend this game!

I have never been a fan of the Youda time management series, but I decided to check this game out and see how they do in the HOG genre.
This is a fairly average game; nothing that is truly horrible enough to make you want to question the intelligence of the creators, but nothing really to rave about, either. You play as Emma, a young woman who has just inherited the family mansion and discovers along held secret about her parents' disappearance.
The graphics are acceptable; again nothing glaringly bad, but nothing spectacular. The environment looks pretty good, but the people are drawn almost cartoony. Emma looks rather strange in one shot, like her head is too small for the rest of her body. The hidden object scenes are too easy, as jkf states, the only hard to find objects are those that are hidden by other objects. The mini-games don't offer anything too exciting, either. The music again is so-so, and the gameplay follows a logical, if predictable, script. No surprises here, folks.
As I said before, this is an average, run-of-the-mill release. You probably won't be kicking yourself for spending your hard earned money or credits buying this game, but I doubt you consumed by regret if you don't buy it.
I recommend this game!

I have LOVED ERS Games since they released the first PuppetShow (When are they going to release the next sequel, anyway?), so I was eager to play this game.
I haven't played the other Azada games (or at least I don't remember playing them),so I'm coming to this game without any expectations based on its predecessors. You have just discovered that your distant relative has left you something and you travel to Prague to acquire it. Once there you are more-or-less kidnapped and told the inheritance was a ruse by a man named Titus who tells you that he has selected you to be a guardian of Azada, a book with portals to other worlds. You are told you must get the keys to these portals to prevent Titus' magician uncle from getting his hands on them and doing who knows what evil.
As expected with ERS Games, this game has high quality graphics, though not the really stunning visuals of PuppetShow or Maestro: Music of Death. As is NOT expected, this game has NO hidden object scenes (at least none in the demo). It threw me off somewhat, but I got used to it. There is the standard journal and inventory. The mini-games are nothing new, but most require you to acquire several pieces from several different locations before they are activated, which might get to be aggravating after a while. You can play this game in three different modes, casual, advanced, and hard, and you can change modes from the options menu mid-game. I really liked the strategy guide because it stayed on the last paged you left it on, so no starting at the beginning every time you open it, always nice.
Though not quite up to the standards I've come to expect from ERS, all-in-all, this is a very good game, worthy of a 4.3.
I recommend this game!

When I saw that this was an Hdo game, I almost deleted it without even playing it. However when I saw that the central character was a African-American woman I decided to take a chance.
I must say that this game is marginally better than previous Hdo games because the graphics are surprising good. Unfortunately, that is the only thing that separates this game from its predecessors. The rest of the game is in the same cookie-cutter mold of the previous disasters released by Hdo.
I don't recommend anyone buy this game, but maybe after they release another five or ten games, Hdo will improve enough to create a game someone will actually want to buy.
I don't recommend this game.

I don't know what to make of this game; I think it had the potential to be a great game, but was ruined by confusing gameplay and a less than helpful hint system.
I don't know the name of the main character because I don't think it was ever mentioned. But you play as a young woman whose awakens to the ghost of her mother telling her that her special talent (apparently she can see other ghosts, not just her mother's) has garnered to attention of Legion and she must defeat him if she is to save humanity.
While this is not exactly an original plot, but was good enough to get me to try the game. The graphics are so-so, not the worst I've see, but certainly not the best I've seen, either. The most glaring problem in the was the fact that there was NO journal in which to keep you with important information, like the clues to puzzles. For example, you need a code key in order to enter the symbols in a puzzle next to the gazebo, but the key is on the other side of the garden!! Do they expect you to walk back and forth? Another problem was the navigation; there was no map, so I sent most of the trial wandering back and forth aimlessly trying to complete tasks. If the hint system was supposed to help, I don't see how. It would simply point to the object that needed to be acted on in the scene. I ALREADY knew that the door needed to be unlocked, I wanted to where the thing was!
Needless to say I wasn't enamored of this game. I STRONGLY suggest you try before you buy.
I don't recommend this game.
