Hackamore Bluff is an amazing addition to the Rite of Passage series and I love everything about it. The game has a great storyline that is well developed (for a change) and one that creates a great feeling of mystery and fright (at least for me). As you can see by the title of my review we might just be meeting some creepy townsfolk as we move through the game.
The story centers on Carlos Montez who has been searching for something, but we don’t quite know what that might be at least early in the game. During a call to his wife (our character in the game) he tells her that he has finally found what he has spent years looking for. Just when he is about to tell her what that might be, the call is disconnected. Even though you try to call him back, he can’t be reached so you leave the safety of your home go in search of your beloved. Will you find Carlos and when you do what else will you find waiting for you in Hackamore Bluff.
This is one of the first games in months that has held my attention and kept me on the edge of my chair as I played. When the demo ended I was so thoroughly involved in the game that it was a shock.
For many of us who play virtually every HOPA game that comes our way, the mechanics and basics of the game are nothing new. We have the same tools but this time there is no cute little helper to amuse us with its antics. There is an amulet that must be (yep, you guessed it) recharged each time we use the thing. It will bounce, jiggle, and sparkle in our UI until we pick it up and use it for whatever the purpose might be. There is a puzzle to complete before it is ready to use (guess the thing used too much energy trying to get our attention).
I am not going to go into the nitty-gritty details as others have done an excellent job in providing that information for those of you who like to know what to expect. For me, most of the fun in a game is discovery as we move through the game. I will only say that I enjoyed the HOPS and Puzzles. There was nothing out of the ordinary but the HOPS were well-designed and creative. The puzzles were fun and even though most seemed easy, they were still quite entertaining.
The CE value is very good and there are lots of goodies included. We find the standard fare but the extras included make this a CE value that you should consider. I find that the package includes a lot more than we have seen in recent games. Needless to say, IMHO, it is an excellent CE game.
I couldn’t wait to download the game this morning and purchased it immediately (I had beta tested the game and knew it is one that I wanted). As you can guess by the title of my review this is a great mystery game that includes all of the creepiness that most of us could hope to find. I think this is an amazing game and hope that you will find it as enjoyable and entertaining as I do. I love the game and it has been difficult to drag myself away as I kept saying “only one more scene and I will have breakfast”. When a game is this good it really is difficult to leave and take care of those real-life tasks. Even though I think this is a terrific game, please try the demo to see if it is a game that you will enjoy. Happy gaming!

Sometimes a game will get lost when I change to a new computer and that is the case with Laruaville. I purchased Laruaville 5 and thought it was great fun but when the switch came along I forgot all about it. When Laruaville 7 came out it jogged my memory and I knew that I needed to buy Laruaville 7. These little ghosts are entertaining an funny. This time our friends from Laruaville are in the dessert and an accident has brought them face to face with Pharaoh. What will happen on this journey and what challenges will they face this time around.
Match 3 games are always relaxing for me and this one is great fun as I earn those gold coins. I actually had to play one level again in the beginning – lol. At least getting some of those power-ups from making large matches helped me get some of those frozen coins.
Since today is nice and quiet I am going to spend some time with the colorful little ghosts as I go through the various levels in the game and discover all the features. Even though this game is a definite purchase for me, as always, please try the demo to see if you will enjoy Laruaville 7 as much as I do. Happy gaming!

Mosaic games have been a favorite since I first discovered them in 2008. Some mosaic games are definitely better than others and the World’s Greatest Cities series rank at the top of the list. What I like about these games is that we have several options for customizing the way we like to play. Not only can we choose the difficulty options but we can also choose the way the tiles look.
The World’s Greatest Mosaics is close to my favorite with Fantasy Mosaics still being in first place even though these games have the features that I love. If there is one difference for me is that the tiles and boards are smaller. That being said, World’s Greatest Cities are wonderful games and I highly recommend them to anyone who loves mosaic type games.
Thank you BFG for bringing us such a great variety of mosaic games to choose when we want some extra fun. Even though I love this game, I always recommend that you try the demo to see if World’s Greatest Cities mosaics will be a game you also enjoy. Happy gaming!

Sugar Crime is exactly like so many other simple match 3 games. I don’t know about you but I love at least some challenge in my match 3 games. BFG has some wonderful match 3 games that those of us who like to think can enjoy. I found myself falling asleep as I played this game and matched row after row and column of the colorful sweets.
This game would be wonderful entertainment for the little ones who might find some appeal with the bright colors. The music for the game is a poor choice and it was so annoying that I finally turned if off. Although the game might be for some, it certainly isn’t what I am looking for in a great match 3 game. As always, please try the demo so see if this is a game you will enjoy.
I don't recommend this game.
Decor, interior design, family and comfort await you in this brand new jigsaw puzzle game!

I love the 1001 Jigsaw puzzles and this new addition Home Sweet Home is excellent. I love the puzzle selection and the fact that I can change the setting for each puzzle to my preference. If I don’t want a real easy way to solve, I simply change the number of pieces that I want a puzzle to have. The 1001 Jigsaws are my favorite. I own 1001 Jigsaw Earth Chronicles 1 and 3 and with Home Sweet Home I now have another collection of puzzles that I will add to my gaming library.
As I mentioned above this collection of puzzles can be customized (a plus with all of the 1001 Jigsaws) for the way we might like to play. If you are playing with a child you can set up the puzzles with a smaller number of pieces so they are larger and more easily completed. IMHO, this is the perfect family game. My favorite genre of games are HOPAs but when I don’t want to play those it is nice to have other wonderful puzzle games that I can play. The graphics are really great and with the puzzles I have played they are quite clear. The floral puzzles are so gorgeous and full of color I can almost smell the flowers.
Even though I love 1001 Jigsaw Home Sweet Home, as always, please try the demo to see if this is a game you will enjoy. Happy gaming!

Bloodline of the Fallen is a rather interesting game with a lot of possibilities but I honestly had a difficult time of making sense of what it was all about. Although the storyline is interesting, it is slow to develop as we must go through either a HOP scene or a puzzle to receive an entry to the journal that was left to Anna by her father, a former cult member. Anna is having nightmares since the death of her father and now she is searching for answers.
As I mentioned above the storyline is interesting but I disliked the HOP scenes. The puzzles are simplistic but fun to solve. The biggest issue for me is that I really couldn’t get into the game. I felt like I needed to pull out a magnifying glass when reading the list of items to be found in a HOP scene. That magnifying glass was also needed when looking at a general scene because the items were teeny and didn’t really show what they might be. For instance in one HOP I needed to find teeth. The teeth were so indistinct that even with a hint I wasn’t sure that the item was supposed to be teeth. I love HO games but I do want a game where the items to be found are really larger and a true representation of the item. There are many gamers who will enjoy the game but for me it just doesn’t have enough to offer. For those of you who like the game – happy gaming!

Can the past be changed? This is the opening question at the beginning of The Keeper of Antiques Shadow from the Past that is the fourth game in the series. As always you play the game as Alexandra Anderson who is now the Keeper since your Uncle Paul retired and passed the torch to your capable hands. The beginning cutscene in the game shows you and your parents on the way to the Hilltown Winter Festival in 1985 when there is the car accident that took the lives of your parents. Flash forward to 2017 and you are sitting at the computer when you receive an urgent call from Uncle Paul letting you know that someone has broken into the Antiques Shop that contains the artifacts. When you arrive at the shop you find that it has been vandalized and Uncle Paul is being held in the back room. Unfortunately the door has been vandalized by the culprit. Will you be able to save your uncle and keep the artifacts safe?
Although many gamers will find the graphics to be “old School,” I happen to enjoy the artistic style of games from this developer. The one complaint that I have is the lag time between scene changes. It is not as bad as having a black screen because now graphic pops up while the scene is changing. The lag time seems negligible and doesn’t bother me over much as it is quick and I am used to seeing it these games. There is an interactive map that I appreciate since the developer gives us a gold star when we have found all of the extras in a particular location. No gold star and you should take another look to see what you missed. As is the case in all of the Keeper of Antiques games you have the Keeper Tool that will be used to help you see things that are not readily visible. The Tool lives on the side of your UI and will jiggle and sparkle until you realize that it must be used.
The HOPS in this game are excellent being well-designed and most have some interactive. One scene in particular almost had me switching to the alternate matching game that is available if you would rather not search for items. Although there is variety in the HOPS many of them are the standard list type that I prefer. The Puzzles are very good but most are what I consider easy but there are some that are a bit more challenging and I had to think a bit more to solve them. I enjoy the puzzles in this game because I dislike a game that has too many “brain drain” puzzles.
If you enjoy the CE version of a game, this one includes Morphing Objects, Collectibles that will complete five collections, and 36 puzzle pieces that will be used to complete several jigsaw puzzles once all of the pieces are found. The game includes the standard extras that are found in all CE games. IMHO, this developer gives us a lot of extras that make this a great CE a great value.
The Keeper of Antiques series is a favorite of mine and Shadows from the Past is a game I have enjoyed playing. Since I like the series the game was an instant purchase for me. The story becomes more interesting after the demo as we learn more about the culprit and what he is searching for that is so important. The game has moved fairly quickly for me and held my interest as I played, Even though I really like this game, as always, please try the demo to see if this is a game you will enjoy. Happy gaming!

I purchased the original 1001 Jigsaw Earth Chronicles game and absolutely loved it and then it was lost at some point when I switched laptops (the whole new GM thing) but I remember how much I enjoyed the original. Recently I have decided to go back and take a look at all of my games (yes I own over 1,300 games all from BFG) and to write reviews on those I missed. While doing that I realized how much I loved the first 1001 Jigsaw Earth Chronicles and wanted more. I wasn’t quite as attracted to game 2 in the series but game 3 grabbed me. I love the brilliant colors and the Waterworld puzzles are absolutely terrific. The puzzles in this game will keep me busy and if I did only one puzzle a day the game would keep me occupied for a little over 3 years. Now that is a lot of activity and well worth the price of the game.
The game offers the same features as the other game in the series so it has all of the features that attracted me to the original. If you are looking for a great puzzle game, I recommend that you give this one a try. Happy gaming!

When my kids were younger we would spend hours after homework playing a jigsaw puzzle. We would have puzzle pieces spread all over the dining room table which would gently be set aside until the next evening. I have always been a huge fan of puzzles and finding a variety of puzzles to keep my family happy sometimes proved to be a challenge. Then with the advent of the PC that all changed and now there are great jigsaw puzzles available for whenever I want them. So I wonder why, I purchased this game when it was released but never got around to playing it. I guess my love of HOPA games sort of moved into first place. Recently I have decided to get back to looking at a variety of games and finding this one in my purchase history was terrific and fit the bill.
Turns out that I wish I had paid more attention and hadn’t lost this game somewhere along the line. I guess as I changed laptops, I needed to install a new GM and this little gem got lost in the process. Well I am happy to say the lost is found and I am not having a wonderful time playing a new puzzle or two every day.
Something I absolutely love about this puzzle game is that the puzzles are all themes that I love. Perhaps the animal ones take the top place but the other types follow closely behind. If you are looking for a great jigsaw puzzle game then this is the one you want. Not only is there a great variety to choose from in the puzzles but we get to do all sorts of different things such as choose the style or cut of the puzzle pieces to the size. You can choose between a smaller or larger number of puzzle pieces and it all depends on your preference. If you want a little extra help then you have a feature for that as well. As far as I’m concerned this game has it all.
Even though I love this game and promise myself that it will never get lost in my gaming library again, I always recommend that you try the demo to see if this is a game you will enjoy. Happy gaming!

1000 LYA is a match-3 game that seems rather repetitive and not much else. I really couldn’t figure out how to earn all of the bonuses. I made what I thought would be 5 gem matches that would generate a bomb but that didn’t happen for me. It wasn’t too long before I decided that I would leave this game to those who wanted a rather simple match-3 game that didn’t take a lot of thought. Simply move the gems to make matches and whatever happened would happen.
Even though this game is not one that I particularly care for, please try the demo because it might be perfect for you. Happy gaming!
