So everything is there, good graphics, great story, great gameplay. You can select the main story adventure, they could have mixed it up a bit but otherwise great. However it was far to short. Once your done with that, you are left with about six other types of match 3 challenges with specific goals and gameplay. No more story, no good goals, no progression. So after the adventure, it can be boring. But a good time waster.
Wouldn't bother with the CE, the SE was completely satisfactory. Was good, kept my interest. I wouldn't have bothered with a review except the end got me. I don't understand why it seems like some developers put so much work into the game and ZERO thought into the ending? Not to spoil anything but this is another game where as soon as you complete the very last puzzle, activity, etc. the game just ends. The ending is your final impression of the game. So while you can love a game, if the ending is terrible, that's the impression you are left with. Such is my story....ergh
Good time waster game. Just goes from HOG to some sort of puzzle (find the differences, matching, etc) and back. It's really pretty boring. I had a hard time finding items as many were very small.
Got the SE and was pleasantly surprised. The hint button made up for the lack of a map. Collectibles were nice but the same in every scene. Giving it five stars because the story and environment were a little different than the rest. The story got progressively dark (figuratively) and there were some really bizarre looking creatures towards the end. The game felt like a good length. The ending was nice, and was not just a two second affair before the credits. You earn coins which can buy the extras like artwork. Some of the artwork were not used in the game and are worth having a look at. I liked it and kudos to the Dev's. Please make moreW
Finally a HOG that is different. I give this 5 stars just for breaking the mold and thinking outside the typical HOG box. Kudos to the developers. Finally, no princesses, witches, castles, graveyards, cute pets, etc. Love the change of setting, the humor, collectibles were great, interactive map, the helper book. If you liked Calavera you should check out Mishap, they are completely different stories but the same sense of humor and creativity.
This is a good series and for someone that has never played them they might like it. I think it is a shame that these keep coming out with no noticeable improvements. As others have mentioned, the HOs seem smaller, grainier and more difficult to see (not find, but see). The series should be keeping up with the times and making changes along with the technology, don't let this series fall by the wayside by becoming old and outdated.
There are only about thirty different scenes total. For a game of all HO's you would think that would get a little redundant. Also I wish the developers would branch out and quit using the same stuff in different games. You're playing an HO version of Fishdom. Except for the play scenes and items to buy they are exactly the same game? Also please expand the options of items to buy. For example, only less than twenty fish total? Gets a little boring. This is a good series but keep kicking it up a couple notches with every new game, rather than just recycling the same stuff.
This is definitely up there in the worst endings list. Needed some morphing objects or something. The SE version was really stripped down but I wasn't too interested in the extras the CE had to offer. Decent game, but too short, and needed a better ending.
Finished Demo. BoomZap gives us new and unique atmospheres, storylines, puzzles and gameplay. Not seeing the same ol, same ol for once! A good buy CE or SE.
New and interesting puzzles (not terribly difficult but unique) Beautiful Graphics Variety of HO scenes, some where text describes the item to find Interactive Map Creative and original Scenery Great clicking speed Subtle music and great voice overs Find hidden fairies throughout game to win an achievement Read through the achievements first, so you know what to aim for at the start of the game. (ie: don't skip any cutscenese throughout the game)
