Don't get me wrong, I love match 3, but this one seemed to drag and didn't really do anything for me. The storyline itself was very good and the visual and sound were really good. I started out being excited to play a new match 3, but as the screens progressed I could feel my self getting bored and wondering how much longer the demo was going to last. I was really hoping that it would become more exciting(?) or draw me into more of the game, but it just didn't happen. You really need to try the game before you make a decision.
I recommend this game!

It has been some time since we got the first game of Royal Detective. It was not a bad sequel and it had some really nice high points. Visually it was very good, but the animation was a little stiff, but didn't affect the storyline itself, which was actually quite good. There wasn't much talking and was a little distracted by the responses being at the top of the screen without the vocal backup. The games were rather simple but enjoyable and the hos were fairly simple to find. You had very basic 18 achievements which were all about the hos and the mini games and how long it took to complete. There were also 18 morphing dragons to find which I found a lot of fun. There is also a book of Queen of Shadows Cards that I really didn't get or find duing the demo. The rest of the "bonuses" were your basic normal stuff.
The story itself was as I said quite good. Princess who was rescued in the Lord of the Statues (depending which ending you chose) is back and has located her mother and then lost her again. You job this time is to rescue the mother and reunite her with Princess. There is much magic involved and statues to animate for help. Am torn as to whether to recommend this game but you have to try yourself to decide.
The storyline was the best part and I really enjoyed it. There were some things I was definitely disappointed with and would have probably give the game a 3.5 but I really liked the dragons. Will probably get as there is a sale this weekend.
I recommend this game!

This new Dark Strokes game is fantastic. There is so much to do and a storyline that pulls you in from the beginning of the story. Adele, the princess, is sent away from the her father's kingdom because of a pact made between the man in the dark cloak and the king. He has come back after many years and is after Adele. You rescue her from the ice knight and take her home with you where she opens a package dropped from an airship and she is sucked into the snow globe. Your goal is to get her out of the snowglobe and to find out what has happened to the kingdom where everyone who has opened a package has disappeared.
There is so much to do and find. There are snowflakes to find, 12 magic scrolls, 10 magic objects (in the hos) and 15 achievements.
You have 3 options for difficulty, casual, advanced and hard. The music is not annoying and rather soothing. The visual is really beautiful and really well done. And the level of challenge is not too hard, not too easy. This game is extremely well done and can't wait to own it.
I recommend this game!

As I had no idea that there would be another Final Cut, I was thrilled to find it offered today. You are once again tormented by you father's camera which goes between reality and fantasy. This time "The Director" has the camera and you must figure out what is going on and why. You having an annoying journalist who is following you around trying to get the "story of a life time." The Director has taken over your father's house and he has made you the "star" of his movie.
EIPIX has done a fantastic job. There are 49 clapperboards that must be found, about 19 achievements, and have no idea at this time what the souvenirs are supposed to be. I have not been able to see any morphing objects, but have been interrupted a lot while trying to do the demo. There are 4 levels of difficulty which include casual, expert, insane and custom difficulty that can be changed during the game. The extras include souvenir room, puzzles, hop, bonus game, movies, making of and music. All which are unavailable until you purchase the game, except the achievements.
Loved the game, loved the art, loved the music which fit perfectly with the game. Need to finish this review so I can purchase, especially with the sale this weekend.

The story start with you and Dupin receiving a letter from a doctor who has been treating the Usher twins who have a curse (?) or disease that where one of them suffers an injury, the other ends up with the same injury. Unfortunately, Madelaine has gone missing and it's up to you and Dupin to find her. There is Estelle who has taken care of the twins since they were small but she seems to be close to there age. There is also a spirit who makes things alive who were once stone.
There is a lot to follow and a lot to do. There are miniature dollhouses that you need to find and using a magnifying glass, collect the gold coins from inside each house to use to buy supplies for the lab. There are a number of achievements, standard ones but also those that are specifically associated with the story. There are four levels of difficulty which include casual, advanced, hard and custom. The extras are the normals and there are no surprises there. The strategy guide only had three chapters, so not exactly sure how long the game actually is. Also, the hos can be switched to a chain match 3 where you can collect items by putting the tiles into triangles. Also, there are pictures that you find and need to use in the game by matching where they belong.
All in all this was an enjoyable game and plan to buy as soon as I can afford..
I recommend this game!

Mystery of Unicorn Castle was one of the first games I bought when I joined Big Fish Games. The difference is phenomenal.
The story begins when you are contacted about the kidnapping of Sophie, a five year old orphan who was left by the orphanage and a unicorn was sighted in the vicinity where she was left. She is kidnapped by the beast who is going to ensure his quest to immortality. It is your job to save Sophie and end the quest. Through it you meet ghosts who you can or not help, depending on your decision can change the whole aspect of how you play the game. You decide what path you want to follow which makes this game unusual and keeps you on your toes.
The HOS are your typical with several tasks to complete to get the item. The puzzles are not difficult but fit along with the story. There are 4 levels of difficulty and can be changed except for hardcore. Your bonus section includes additional puzzles, hos, a gallery and music. In the trophy room there are about 31 trophies and there are 45 collectible pumpkins and wizard notes to collect. There seems to be something else, but could not find out what it was. The directional hint is good, but needs to be refilled and can find sparkly areas to click on to refill it more quickly. The map is interactive, and the diary gives you some info that is not included in the cut scenes.
The visual wasn't bad, but not fantastic and the music and sound effects were well done.
Overall I really enjoyed this game and plan to make use of the sale this weekend to get it.
I recommend this game!

So much to do and so little time in the demo. The story begins with a woman who has been jilted by her love. She throws her ring into the abyss which is taken by a really scary hand. 25 years later, Lilly's twin sister is getting married to Edward who showed up at the village out of nowhere a month before. You haven't been home for years but you can't miss Lilly's wedding. As you are going into the inn, your sister is kidnapped by a huge bear that carries her off into the forest. Along the way you get a helper, a little kitten. You follow Edward into the forest, and fall into a ravine. Now you are stuck and have to get out to save your sister.
The game by Artifex Mundi is beautifully done. The colors are vibrant and very clear. The music fits the theme and is not in any way annoying. There are 30 spirits to find, 13 story achievements and 11 trophies to earn. There are the regular extras, and three levels of achievement.
I found the game very well done and got caught up into the story that I didn't even realize that the hour had passed so quickly. The game has to do with legends and you really need to try to make sure it is something you want. I do.
I recommend this game!

Your son is kidnapped and drawn through a portal in an old tree. You have to solve a puzzle to go through the portal to save your son. There is a lot of going back and forth (thank heavens for an interactive map), between places to gather all the stuff you need to be able to go on with the adventure.
I couldn't get into the story as there was little interaction with the characters, music that was really not there and visually difficult to find objects in the hos and collectibles. I really liked the variety of collectibles, pine cones, snails, snakes and skulls. I also liked the fact that on the map you knew where you had missed one of them. The normal extras were available and the achievements were based on what you did in the game, like no skipping, no hints, etc. There were three levels of difficulty, casual, normal and hard.
I got bored before the demo was over and kept checking to see how much time I had left. You really need to play to decide whether you want the collector's edition, but I'll go ahead and wait for the SE.

Thirty years ago, a composer by the name of Gaspar fell in love with the prima ballerina who loved him or so he thought. As she accepted acclaims from another admirer, Gaspar retaliated and burned down the theatre killing everyone inside along with himself. Now your sister is playing the lead role in Dontella di Fiori, the part that Gaspar had written for Marie. He has enlisted the help of the doorman to kidnap your sister opening night. Now you must save her.
There is so much to do. There are four levels of difficulty which include casual, expert, insane and custom. HOS come in a variety of silhouttes and lists and if you have a problem locating an item you can play the bubble game. The mini games are a little on the simple side, but fit the scene. There are morphing objects and 44 roses that need to be found for Marie's bouquet.
I have not seen an extras list quite this long. There are achievements (18), bonus chapter, making of, hops, puzzles, music, pictures, movies, a souvenir room, Marie's Bouquet and bonus hops. The map is interactive and the hint button gives directions.
The game was beautifully done. The colors and visuals were awesome and the music was well done. All in all, it was a fantastic game and will purchase soon.
I recommend this game!

You have received a letter from your brother in law to go back to the town where your sister Margaret died. People are saying that Emmett is getting revenge for the death of his wife, but you can't imagine that Emmett would do anything like that. It's up to you to find Emmett and get to the bottom of the mystery of this town.
There is so much to do. There are achievements both for hos and mini puzzles, but also items related to the story itself. You can collect crystals to transform the 10 mystical animals that you must locate, find coins to buy decorations and panels for the crucible. There is the interactive map, a non interactive strategy guide, lists of dossiers of the people you meet along your way and the journal that gives you the notes that you collect. There are 4 levels of difficulty; casual. advanced, hardcore and custom. On the hos you can also switch to puzzles instead of using a hint. It also had your normal extras. The game was visually beautifully done. The music was not bad, I enjoyed the game and will probably purchase this weekend due to the sale. It seems that it might be a little short due to only having 5 chapters, but there is also the bonus chapter. Need to play to decide if you will like.
I recommend this game!
