Laruaville is a plot of land where the ghosts in the story want to build a town for ghosts and it is your job to make their dream come true.
It is a combination of Match 3 and mini games and the object is to gather the coins in the Match 3 to purchase the items the ghosts would like in their town. You have a number of power ups that the wizard creates for you to use. There is no voice over and the music stops and starts in loops which can be a little annoying(turned sound way down at the beginning). Visually it is cartoonish but cute.
It was fun to play but not sure if it could become boring after the hour trial, but it does have the potential to. Mini games are interspersed between the match 3, ho and mahjong tiles. It is one of those games that you need to try to find out if you like it or if it will drive you bored silly.

Nightmares from the Deep: The Siren's Call Collector's Edition
Face off against Davy Jones and his nightmares from the deep!
There is so much to love and appreciate with this new CE sequel from Artifex Mundi. The storyline begins with a fishman who has come to enlist the help of Mrs. Black to save his friend Calliope (a mermaid). She is taken to the island and meets the characters who she hopes to help along with saving Calliope. The hour passed so quickly that I was shocked when time was up.
There are so many extras with this game that can be played in Casual, Advanced and Expert. The map is interactive and can jump from place to place, there are 29 achievements, 18 morphing parrots and 7 secret seahorses. The hint button works in and out of the hos. I was so totally involved I forgot to check the strategy guide. There is also a journal that helps you follow along and gives you a list of objectives that you get checked off as you accomplish them. This beautifully crafted and musically well done CE was well worth the wait.
Casual Arts tried to give gamers a ho only, and were only partially successful. There are two levels, Casual and Challenge. There are recycling items to collect and lost items to find. There is no clue on how many recycling items there are, so it is difficult to get a gold star if you miss even one. When locating lost items, you cannot find another one until you complete the one that it showing. The items were difficult to find due to size or coloring and eye strain is a possibility. The sound seemed to be on a loop and started getting on my nerves. The mini games between hos were puzzles and rather simple. Could not finish demo as my eyes started to hurt. Recommend with caution
Orphan Evy wakes to find herself in a fairytale kingdom under threat from an evil witch. Help her save the magic kingdom with Marble Popping puzzle duels.
Evy-Magic Spheres by Herocraft was a very cute game visually. I'm not really sure what to score for level of challenge as I have only played this type of Match 3 only once or twice before and I played on Easy level. There are two levels, easy and normal. The music and visual were quite good and it really is a fun type of match 3 once you get the hang of it. (Still learning and practicing though). The story is of a child who has been left on an orphange steps and then jumps 10 years later to when she is ten years old and goes through a wardrobe to a fantasy land. She fight minions of the evil witch who has ruled the land for many years. Since I am only a beginner in this type, you really must try it for yourself.
Maria Glorum has done a great job with this game. There are 22 achievements, 34 hidden owls, 11 scrolls and frescos to collect along with the normal stuff they offer. You can also answer a question about the game to get one of the achievements. There is an excellent interactive map and the strategy guide is your normal type. The strategy guide only showed 2 chapters so have no idea how long the game actually is.
The hidden objects were all interactive (must do this to get that) and the mini games were fairly simple. I enjoyed the visual but did not have a lot of sound.
The storyline begins with you becoming a member of the League of LIght and immediately sent on your first assignment. You must rescue the Penelope from the Dark Lord's castle which has been seen with increased activity. There is the monster and a nasty little dwarf.
I enjoyed the game and was actually surprised that I finished the demo (a rare occurrence for me) and did not skip anything. The storyline was good, but unfortunately the game froze up on me a couple of times and had to close game and go back to it.
Fierce Tales: Marcus' Memories is actually a very nice game. According to the Demo, it only shows 3 chapters and I'm hoping that is not all. There is a considerable amount of extra to do ie You have an aquarium to decorate, purchase toys for the dolphin and collect sea creatures that you locate to put in the album along with collecting 35 turtles. Some of the objects are difficult to locate and takes time and effort. There are about 17 achievements along with your regular extras. There are 3 levels of action: casual, advanced and hardcore. The hos have silhouettes, and lists from the time I played. Also, you have the choice to set the map on interactive or not. It was an interesting tale of a young man who has been knocked out and thrown into the see in an attempt to kill him off because of his interest in Delores who has also captured the interest of Vasco who is wildly jealous. You must get you memory back to find out what is happening.
Final Cut: Encore Collector's Edition is quite a good sequel. You do not have to play the first one, as it is recapped for you in the opening video. The visual is quite stunning but that is my opinion due to the fact I love art deco. The music is not annoying and fits the time period and setting. There is so much to do as you need to locate morphing objects, 4 leaf clovers, and 37 film strips. There are also 19 achievements along with 4 kites on the interactive map. There are 3 levels of action: casual, challenging and expert which you can change during the game. The story begins with Frederick and yourself who are redoing your father's house. General Porter comes to tell you that your half-sister has escaped for the mental hospital and that you are in danger. You remove the last piece of the magic projector to put into the care of General Porter. Once you arrive at the base, something is terribly wrong. It's up to you to find out what and who is behind the things going on at the base.
Discover the city of Apothecarium, where inhabitants are caught in a perilous struggle against a powerful alchemist who is taking the lives of innocent!
I loved this game but for some reason my computer didn't, so I'll review on what I was able to play. The story line takes place towards the middle ages and is about evacuation of the plague. It has a great storyline. The hos were totally fun as they had morphing objects and you had to get the object before it morphed, you also could play match games if you preferred. There were 3 levels casual, adventure and challenge. In the journal there were tasks, replayable puzzles achievements and coin collection so that you can buy upgrades. You have to earn hints, so it made it difficult in the beginning. You also need to watch as you put items together that have landed in your inventory. I found this game to be exciting and fun and definitely would recommend.
Played demos (SE & CE) and actually finished the demo for SE.
I thoroughly enjoyed the SE and did not miss the achievements and collectibles. The game was crisp, clear and colorful. The games were not difficult and the hos had a twist, at least each hos had one item that needed to be filled or put together. I also enjoyed the safe mini game (reminded me of other puzzles games that I enjoy). The recordings helped move the story along and whetted my interest to continue on to find out what was happening. There was not a lot of running around, most items were used within a short distance of where they were found.
The story of an older journalist giving you a cold story that had been niggling at him because he never had the chance to find out what happened. As you enter the now abandoned orphanage, you meet the neighbor, talk with him after which you begin your journalist journey. It's up to you to find out what happened.
It was an extremely enjoyable hour spent on a quiet Sunday morning and I defintely recommend this game.
After playing the sequel, as I don't own this game, I had to go back and replay it. There were no achievements, no morphing that I could see, you meet the imp for a few minutes then he locks himself up again. The hint button works outside the hos which were very dark and very hard to see. The storyline is very good and the music fit the scenes but was kinda of skippish. Visually it was beautiful, but again very darkish and grainy. The hos were junky and the items were on the small side and at times very hard to find. It was a good game and I enjoyed it.
