The story by Elfun continues with Lynn and Elizabeth and the inheritance of power and the destruction of the family with Lynn trying to find out more information. The storyline was very good but didn't grip me to the point of having to make this purchase on this very day. Not to say I won't purchase it today, but concluded demo first. There are so many things that are great about this game. HOS could be alternated with a matching game which was fun, you have an imp that you can name who you have 10 quests with, finding beyond objects (42#, jigsaw puzzles pieces #45), an interactive map, and your normal type extras. Visually it was well done, but on the dark side with somethings difficult to see. Overall I had a very good time during the demo hour.
Hour flew so fast that I ran out of time just as I was totally getting involved. Taba Games did an excellent job with this game. The storyline started a little slow, but Alan must rescue his Cataline from the Prince of the Dead. At the beginning of the game I checked out the extras and loved even the scene that you would choose the extras from. The extras included music, wallpapers, papercraft and bonus game play. There are 26 skulls to be collected all nicely lined up on shelves. Once they are collected they have sketches of the different characters, etc. The 20 achievements are on the difficult side ( I have yet to do an hos in 1 minute or less). There are 7 chapters in the story but the strategy guide is not interactive as you go along. The "GUIDE" is hilarious and sassy. He holds information, achievements, skull count and the map which is interactive. The scenery was different but clear and crisp and the music fit the scenery. This was a great game.
I love the Dark Parable series, probably due to the fairytale aspect of the story line that always grabs me and carries me through as I lose track of time. As with the other in the series, you are required to find pieces of objects to create whole objects that need to in the game. The mini map is not interactive, so there is a lot of running around. SE is as good as the CE because did not need strategy guide as it was pretty easy to follow. You need to locate figurines to open the parable stories and there are morphing objects to find to increase the time on your hint button. The art was beautiful and colorful and the music/ambience followed along with the story to the point it did not detract or annoy. Hints worked outside the hos and did not need to recharge when you are using for directional. Tasks are listed above the inventory bar. I really enjoyed the game, but the fairytale aspect may not suit some. Try before buying.
First off, I'd like to welcome Nilosh back to BFG and that I have missed her detailed, insightful and helpful reviews. Now on to the game.
ERS has once again proved their genius in producing high quality, visually beautiful, different and unusual games. The art was beyond, the music not annoying and fitting to the game. The hos were different and interactive. The extras included mini games, hidden objects, movies, photos of the developers, music wallpapers, concept art and screensavers.
The journal included diary, a ghost section and your garden. I was only playing the demo so did not have the chance to become deeply involved with the ghosts and the garden.
Map included mini maps and was interactive, with the detective being shown on the map as a chess piece.
The hint button and the skip button took sixty seconds to fill. I also liked the fact that when you hit to check something it told you there was nothing to do.
I played on the casual level but can be changed during the game to advanced or hard.
There were no achievements, but you don't miss them as you are earning money with the garden and looking for poltergiests to open information.
This game was absolutely fantastic and a definite buy for me.
The storyline was a little lame and done very cartoonish. The gold squares need to broken and you are required to find so many jewels of each color. It was difficult to see some of the gold squares as they lighted up when you went to move a jewel to make match 3. You need to get money to hire a crew to sail off to save your wife. Time bonuses are included in your level score. Power ups are actually the "men" you hire to help you on your ship. The music became monotonous very quickly. Definitely a beginner game for those who are just learning about match 3.
After playing Chronicles of Albian 2, I had to go back and replay Chronicles of Albian. It was a fun game, but the items and jewels and fairies were really hard to find. There were two modes, relaed and timed. There are jewels to collect to increase your income to refurbish Albian Castle. There are also mini games where you can get rewards in cash, also to use for refurbishing. There is a fairy in every scene to give you a free hint and to accumulate to five hints you can find magic wands to get those extra hints. There are wallpapers that you can unlock at certain levels and extra puzzles. There is no voice over, only reading what the characters have to say. All in all it is a fun game, just really hard to see the items.
What a really cute game. There were a few issues but all in all had all that a CE has at an SE rate. There are 42 achievements, fairies to collect for a free object in hos, purchasing upgrades for the castle, jewels to collect, interactive map, and spellbook/journal for information. The bad points were extremely small objects, some dark areas that were hard to see in, good voiceovers with no mouth movement (that's ok, can make them go faster) and not a lot of info of what you had to do with inventory. All in all had a very nice time playing the demo, but need to try as it will not appeal to a lot of people.
I don't usually play this kind of match 3, but had a marvelous time. There are 12 achievements and a list of statistics of how you are doing with the game. It also has the option for those who are color blind and need assistance with this. The game starts out with being told you are to retrieve 5 keys that many have tried to find but have been unable to. The game starts out slowly to get one adjusted on how to play and as the levels increase, the speed begins to increase on how fast the orbs are moving. The visual was very good, but the music can become wearing on one's nerves. I really liked this game.
Confront an ancient evil and uncover your true! After a startling revelation changes your world forever, you must embark on an epic journey to save mankind.
I don't recognize the game developers, but they did a very nice job on this game. There are no achievements or morphing or collecting, but it does have a task list attached to the inventory, a journal, a good hint button and an interactive map. The extras include a bonus chapter, concept art, wallpaper, and music. There was considerable running around without the map, but they were not long distances. There were two levels: casual and expert. The art was beautiful and the music was not annoying. I liked this game.
Very cute game. It has 2 modes of play, relaxed and timed, 31 achievements, keeps your statistics, and has "Fishipedia" a fact filled blurb about the fish you have purchased. It was colorful and the fish were very cute with their names and personalities. Just the right type to play for a relaxing break from hos, tm, and adventure. Really enjoyed this game.
