This is an easy, fun, relaxing game. Sometimes simple is what one is looking for -- an extreme challenge isn't always necessary to enjoy a game. I do hope that BF will continue this series and offer even more retro/old school HOGs. Perhaps those that are giving it such a low rating have missed the intended simplicity of the game.
The reason I purchased this game was because the ratio of HOS far outnumbered the puzzles/mini-games, and I was not disappointed. I find puzzles/mini-games most annoying so I always skip them. I have grown so weary of games being marketed as Hidden Object games when they are nothing more than puzzles and mini-games with a few obligatory HOS thrown in. Big Fish really needs to create a new category for those types of games. I was ready to cancel my Big Fish membership, but this game gave me pause, and I am reconsidering.
My review is based on the demo, and I'm thankful I didn't purchase this awful mess. There are extremely few hidden object scenes in this game. However, there is an overload of mini-games/puzzles, which I despise. It was nothing more than back and forth and back and forth with mini-game after mini-game -- boring!!! The developers can keep their annoying mini-games, and I'll keep my money. Go back and take a look at the ORIGINAL Madame Fate and then build an MCF game!!!
This game was fun to play, and I especially enjoyed the added humor. It's nice to have a game that isn't doom and gloom. Although there were a bit too many mini-games for my preference, I still had to give it a 5-star rating. I do hope we see these characters in another hidden object adventure.
I played the previous Memoirs of Murder game and decided to purchase this one as well. It's a fun game about a married couple who wind up being amateur detectives. Happy to note there are no demons, witches, evil spirits, or goblins in sight. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because there is an overabundance of mini-games/puzzles.
This game is pure fun. Beautiful cheerful colors fill the screen while soft music plays in the background. Lots of hidden objects to find (my favorite part) and puzzles in between. There's nothing depressing, evil, or morbid about this game -- it's purely lighthearted and a great way to relax. I look forward to this series as well as that of the Park Ranger and the Christmas Wonderland -- all winners!!!
Pennmom36's review is spot on. This game is a breath of fresh air. Not a demon, evil spirit, witch, or flying dragon in sight. I would love to see more games like this offered by Big Fish.
