Your grandfather disappeared while searching for Inuits' legendary treasure. Travel to the Arctic to find your missing grandfather and solve the Inuit mystery.
the story and the game play were ok if you could get past the real people, yeeck, a major major deal breaker for me. did I mention the horrible acting! double yuck. wish someone would mention the use of real people in the game cuz it's an automatic no buy for me[ victor the only exception]. the next con for me was the graphics. I don't understand why a game would go from glorious color to washed out gray and brown, then back to color in other scenes. I'm a HO nut, but found myself not wanting to look at the HO scenes, but I did really like the option of playing the jigsaw puzzles which were very colorful, but apparently there are only so many cuz after playing several, it was no longer an option to opt to [giggle] please try the demo first [unlike myself, you'd think I'd learn] another play and delete for me
now these are the kind of hand drawn sceneries I gotta see over and over. your gonna love this game. It's better than the first[I think]. It's definitely CE worthy-- nice length, good bonus achievements and 25 masks to collect, but I found 5 in the bonus game so I'm not sure if that means there will be 20 in the se or none at all. It's got my favorite HOs--- lists[interactive], and find 12 of, good puzzles and mini games. and the technicals were spot on, no clicking 10 xs to pick it up. the last couple games were tiresome that way. so if you're a fan of hand drawn artwork you're gonna love this one.
I really need to do the trial before buying. this is a good game, just not my kind of game, it's not a keeper for me. I played it and deleted it. I need to want to keep looking at the scenery over and over to keep it in my queue. I used to love anything Mr. Vallejo was involved in, but that love is fading. Maybe he's involved in to many gaming companies, I don't know but I think the quality is suffering. or maybe I'm just getting pickier. the HO's were fine the flow was fine, the games were good, just not a fan of space games and getting tired of portals. play the trial and see if it grabs you. I bought the CE on sale but you might be happier spending a free game credit on the SE. from now on it's hand drawn or delete for me.
eye candy galore! this one had me at hello. I'm still playing but haven't come across a negative yet. plenty of things to look for like the HOs start as lists then come back later and replace things. enjoy the puzzles and mini games, nice variety, nothing too tedious so far but not difficult either. good journal and map, good hint system, don't know about the strategy guide haven't used it yet. love, love, love , the hand drawn art , the color, the sparkles! yes I said the sparkles, don't understand why people don't want to see them, I think they're beautiful, especially when they're theme related [like the blue music notes in the Maestro series]. well back to the game! hope you enjoy it too
You're on a train in the middle of nowhere, and a band of dangerous thieves demand you tell them where to find the Hope Diamond's shards. As the newest Hidden Expedition recruit, you've got to find the shards before they do...X
I bought the CE I played it and deleted it. I know I'm in the minority here but it just didn't wow me .to me the scenery was more like photographs, too many people and too much talking. for me to keep a game and play over and over it's all about the eye candy. I want rich vibrant color not water colors ,I want villages, cottages, castles and old mansions and mythology and fairytale not cities and space ships.
on the brighter side there was plenty to do and a nice different twist in the HOs.
I also expected a better history lesson, well anyways I should have played the trail so my bad. beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I'm not beholding this one.
I do recommend it on its own accord , it just doesn't fit my agenda. I guess the ERS type of artistry has me spoiled
It's hard to review this game without thinking nutcracker, cuz if you compare ,this falls way short but as a game on it's own, it's good . I have to say the graphics in nutcracker are superior. the graphics in this one remind me of mystery trackers. I don't get it when the colors fade and the scenery looks more photographed than hand drawn. I do like the morphing penguins, but that's the only collectibles I've noticed. I don't like that the game can't keep up with me, I always have clicked it 5 times by the time it lets you take it. I was a bit miffed when some reviewers gave less than 5 stars ,but now see why. Don't know where they came up with the ghost of xmass present eeeww. I'm 3/4 through and I'm a little bored, don't like most the puzzles[ and I'm a puzzle freak] but did like the HOs
It's a big game file so you should try it first, I jumped right in but kinda wished I would've waited for the SE.
I used a free credit on this because I liked the graphics. I tried to play, lasted all of 20mins. It wouldn't have been to bad except for the constant running back and forth to talk to someone else. talk talk talk talk talk! sorry but I couldn't take it. This is only the second game I deleted before finishing.
The reviews are all true! this game is outstanding! I'm still playing and on chapter 10 If you loved Ravenhearst and Madame Fate hop on board this puzzle master piece! these puzzles require a lot of thought, about 10 steps in each but there is a skip button [unlike the original games] but then what's the point. if you really cant figure it out they have a hint button and or the s guide. there are morphing cards and dolls this game has everything for my choice of GAME of the YEAR! time to put my thinking cap back on and see where that map will take me.
I don't understand what everybody loved. I bought this for half price after playing the demo and declining but for the deal I thought why not. I'll tell you why not, the game was all over the place first fairy tale then portals and space, most stuff child easy then you cant make sense of anything. goes from bright colors to washed out color, often in the same scene. I cant believe Mr. I.V. had his name on this. glad it was only 8 bucks but would have rather spent it in the bar.
I immediately loved this game. It is a wonderful adventure, frog HOs and lots of puzzles, and a good jump map. It has beautiful scenery and morphing objects.
My only critique of the game is sometimes the map is closed " because of magic" and there are only a few different puzzles that are used over and over, and in my opinion not enough HOs, though the bonus chapter had more .
all in all a solid 4.5 stars I think you'll enjoy I know it has the replay factor for me
