I read the other reviews, but still wanted to try this game as I love Pride and Prejudice. Sadly, I must agree with the other reviews. There is a lot of dialogue, and some of it is not very well done. If you're going to base a game on P&P, the dialogue has to be impeccable. What's more, you have to click, click, click to get through it all. The HOS are ok, but some of the items are so tiny and/or indistinguishable that I found myself guessing and being surprised that I actually clicked on a hint or a piece of the journal or something on the list. Took the fun out of it because it became a guessing game rather than search and find. I didn't mind the music as much as some reviewers, but I did quit the demo before finishing it. This could have been a sumptuous game. Rethought, rewritten, and redesigned, it still could be. But for now, I wouldn't recommend it.
Once upon a time in the small, undistinguished town of Silentville people started disappearing. Help uncover the mystery behind these disappearances and save the town from a curse!

My review is based on the demo. The graphics are beautifully drawn, and the v/o and music well done. But the story didn't grab me. There was a long set-up at the beginning, which I didn't find compelling. It didn't make me care about why the people were missing. It was mostly HOS, as opposed to more of a mix of HOS, task, and mini-puzzle, but if you like that you may enjoy it more than I did. There's a lot of backtracking, which I could deal with, but it was particularly annoying in this game because as you "walk" from place to place, the screen bobs up and down as if to imitate the movement of walking. Another technical issue for me is that when you mouse over a door with the cursor, the door keeps opening and slamming shut. Again, annoying. You meet various characters, but the action is one dimensional. The scenes are beautifully rendered, but sort of sterile looking. On the positive side, the HOS are interesting and interactive, and the game overall looks to be of good quality, so gamers who like games heavy on HOS and don't mind the visual and technical features that annoy me may give this game a higher rating.

I really hope this becomes the new standard in HO/adventure game development! The story was interesting, the graphics were beautiful, the music pleasant and non-intrusive. The v/o was absolute music to my ears. It's clear that professional talent recorded it, because it was flawless. But best of all, this game has some really inventive twists in gameplay. You earn--and keep-- "helpers" in your inventory that you use in various scenes throughout the game. Even though the HOS were "junk piles" as some gamers call them, they were interactive, which made them more interesting. And there is this little guy you meet at the beginning, who is also your "hint" guy, who narrates the cut scenes. Makes it seem like he's on the journey with you. What startled me a little, in a good way, were the statues that seemed to speak directly to me as I played. That was unexpected and fun. There is a great mix of tasks, mini-games, and HO, and you also have the chance to earn trophies for finding a series of mini-statues and achieving other gameplay milestones. There's magic in the story, but overall it avoids the evil, demonic, satanic themes which I really don't enjoy. If you like HO and adventure games, buy this one. It will grab you from the start and not let go until you've completed the quest!

My review is based on the demo, but I'll be buying this one. This game is one of the few that has the perfect combination of factors that make it fun for me: Intriguing story that makes me want to know what happens next; beautiful graphics; professional-sounding voiceovers; a nice balance of HO, task, and interesting mini-games that are little stories within the story. It has a supernatural element [not my favorite thing] but it's sinister as opposed to really scary [so far anyway]. The HO are not super difficult, so you have the fun of finding things without getting frustrated. They are also somewhat interactive, which makes it more interesting. The pace of the game is really good. In some games, it takes so long to find an object you need that I forget where I needed to use it, or the uses for objects are so illogical that after a while I'm following the strategy guide just to get through the game. Expert gamers may find this game too easy, but for me it was just right. The story is familiar [rescue the missing children], but in this game it's really well told. Overall an imaginative and well done game.

I play alot of M3 games, and I really liked this one. The boards are not really large or difficult, like they can be in other M3 games (like levels of Jewel Match or Jewel Quest for example), but there are some interesting elements that make it challenging. One feature is a tile in a bubble that changes from one element to another until you click on it. That helps you make a match you really need/want. Some levels have spiders that spin webs over tiles unless you make a match over them first. The graphics are nice and the music was pleasant. When I finished the game, I was wishing it had been longer. But each section has several levels, so it does take a while to reach the end. It took me a few tries to figure out how to defeat the monster at the bottom of the last board of every section, so here's a tip-- you drop matched tile elements onto it as it's moving back and forth. Not every element damages the monster, so you have to determine which ones are damaging and drop as many as possible onto it to kill it before it steals all your time. The monster's health meter is the green bar underneath its body. This is the kind of game I can play over and over and still find it fun, so it was worth buying for me.
