This would have been a sure fire buy for me, except it has no relaxed (untimed) mode. I don't play match-3 games to raise my blood pressure. Otherwise this game was great fun.
I'm always on the lookout for quality standard editions on which to spend my coupons 'cause I mostly buy CEs. This is one great game.
Storyline is familiar, people lost, must find, evil lurking, but it's played out nicely. And I gotta tell you, the last scene had my heart pumping (lol) very intense battle with the demon.
The hint system is very good and combined with the map it really helps to keep you on course. I mention this because BFG has no walkthrough. There is one on the net, but you probably won't need it unless you are really new at these types of game.
Thanks for a great SE BF! Keep them coming. I've got more coupons than I can use. Wish you'd allow us to use two coupons or even three to purchase an CE game. That would be terrific!

As soon as I saw another Royal Detective in the series, I knew I would buy it. I was very pleased with the graphics, voice overs, the HOS, and the puzzles. The individual characters were a bit stiff, but you don't see much of them, so no matter really.
The story, while a bit similar, veers off into an odd yet fascinating direction. The puzzles were all great fun and I'm glad to see developers adding more puzzles than HOS. I think most of us have had our fill of HOS heavy games.
Elephant and Big Fish have another solid hit in this game. Thank guys!

Okay, I'm a cat person. I always hated it when the cat was portrayed as the bad guy in cartoons and such. And, there are a couple of cats gone wrong in this story too, but they learn the errors of their ways.
This is such a delightful game, It's one of those that puts a smile on your face and makes you glad you bought it. It's such a sweet story. I have no idea what the real Puss in Boots story is, but this version is terrific. Plenty of HOS and puzzles and collectables, some morphing. I always get so caught up in the story I forget to look for that stuff. There is thankfully a great map system to help you along the way. I just loved this game and I haven't even gotten to the bonus play yet.
This review is based upon my having purchased and played the entire game.
I loved the little notes (shown as wolf holograms or shadows) telling us the history of Little Red Riding Hood in various countries and forms. As a previous reviewer stated the game is heavy on HOS with some puzzles.
A note to the confusion about the flowers: the fleur-de-lis is definitely a flower, fleur being French for flower and lis being lily or sometimes called an iris.
Some of the music reminded me of the old game show The Match Game which other old-timers will recognize. The graphics were great, the game itself was great, hint system worked well, no nonsense and fun.
I do wish it had been concluded with the marriage of the werewolf and Red, but all in all, I'm very happy with the game.
I recommend this game!

This game will make you want to replay the entire series
Seriously, this is I believe the 7th in the series. I've played them all and now I want to go back and play them all over again in the order in which they were released.
This is a great game. I'm not going to do a recap. Many others have already told you about the storyline. I'm sure you will enjoy this newest Haunted Legends; a wonderful treat for us from one of my favorite developers ERS.

These developers have come up with a fascinating premise. Yes, you end up stranded on an island, but you need to find things and make nice with the various races already inhabiting the islands. It's not real heavy on the HOS (this is after playing demo only) the real challenge is in finding where you need to go to get the item you need. In some ways it is a little like Hero of the Kingdom.
It is such a different style of game than we usually see, that you might initially be put off. Hang in there and I think you'll have a lot of fun. I love this game.
This is more Adventure than HOP and your adventure is a wild ride. You are an astrophysicist (I think) and you go to the scene of what you think is a meteor crash. Turns out to be not only a UFO crash, but you actually KNOW the ET from your childhood when you thought he was your imaginary friend.
He has come to save Earth and you must help him. He has been injured in the crash and the bad aliens are coming.
WOW Talk about an imaginative story line. If there is another out there like this, I haven't seen it. While there are no HOS scenes, there are objects which you must find. I haven't yet played the Bonus Chapter, I just had to tell you guys about this game. Everything about this game is perfect. I love it. I hope there is a sequel.

Coincidentally, I have just begun re-playing this game. It is that much fun. There are very, very few games that I have played twice so this shows how much I love this game.
There is a little bit of Match-3 (very little) when exploring the caves. There is also a little bit of fishing which will require some learning. I'm not very good. I imagine younger fingers and eyes will do better. Most is doing quests to get what the camp needs - food, water. money, the basics and sending to town for special stuff - flour, TNT, cement, pickaxes.
Your ultimate goal is to find an artifact before the bad guys do and this will require you to change bases a few times. You can return to your former locations though to mine, fish, or pick up materials left behind.
Not your usual time management game at all. Just a whole lot of fun.

As a journalist, you are sent to a town where the head of a company has disappeared along with all his workers. The former journalist on the case was scared and left town. (sissy)
You keep pushing forward and uncover some fascinating goings on. There are hidden objects scenes and puzzles enough to satisfy lovers of both.
I thought this was a great game. Wish it had been available as a collector's edition. It's the kind of game you don't really want to end. Loved it!
