I love the Dark Parables games. Love, love, love! Period. They are always beautifully rendered and accompanied by lush, haunting music. They are a treat for the eyes and ears.
They are also some of the most fun and challenging hidden object puzzle games around.
There are different levels of play so you can choose what's right for your skill level. You can have as many or as few hints and skips as suit your needs. The hidden object scenes are actually FrOGs, and you find the pieces to make various tools and gadgets you will need to proceed in the game. The detail on these tools is astounding. You will never see a more intricately beautiful shovel or key or whatever it is in your life!
One of the most appealing parts of this game, and all the Dark Parables games is the attention to the story. In this game you are helping to rescue the village's children from the Snow Queen's frozen kingdom. Why the queen wants the children is part of a beautifully realized story and is rather touching. As a bonus, you get to collect "cards" to complete different story parables about various characters in the story.
This game also has the player finding "cursed objects" or morphing objects to unlock extra game-play. Morphing objects are always a bonus for me. The bonus game is lengthy, fun, and "complete" while also adding to the whole game experience. You also get just a tiny glimpse of the next game in the series, and it's enough that I can't wait for it to come out!
There is no way you could go wrong with this game. It's one of the most fun and lovely games out there for hidden object/puzzle game players. If you haven't discovered this game series yet, you are in for a treat!
I recommend this game!

This game is perfect for me. It is visually stunning! The music is great and atmospheric. The game-play is fun, challenging, and a bit out of the ordinary. This game really stretches the boundaries of the traditional Hidden Object game.
There are different levels of play so you can choose what's right for you. There is the traditional notebook and hint buttons for when you get stuck, but, they don't always make it easy for you. The notebook and strategy guide are helpful, but not overly so; sometimes you still have to figure out a thing or two! I loved it!
The biggest difference for most traditional hidden object players is the use of "morphing objects" for the hidden object scenes. All the scenes are comprised of morphing object searches, which I completely loved. I can't remember having more fun with a hidden object search is a very long time. I know it wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but I felt it was perfect.
The puzzles were a satisfying mix of games that varied in style and difficulty. None of them were too far into the extremes. I enjoyed all of them.
This game continues the Ravenhearst saga in a delightfully creepy way. You can tell this game was made with the utmost care. The subtle nods to the previous games in the series are a treat for those who have followed this story from the beginning. It has the sense of humor and cleverness that I've come to love from the MCF game series over the years, and is more than enough to keep me interested in and hungry for more!
The fun additions in the player's notebook were the icing on the cake for me. It took me a while to figure out what I was supposed to do, but once I did, I loved it. The teaser for what is to come next has me hopeful for the future too.
I have absolutely zero complaints or disappointments with this game and recommend it whole-heartedly!
I recommend this game!

This is a visually stunning game. The graphics are lovely and the music is terrific. The puzzles are fun and plentiful, and I enjoyed playing the game quite a bit. There are a few spots, however, where I thought the logic of the game was a bit "iffy" and wondered how I was supposed to figure out that I was to use THAT object for THAT task. The game was great fun, and quite long, so if you don't mind a few head-scratching moments of "logic" you're in for a fun time. Very enjoyable!
I recommend this game!

This is the second Dana Knightstone game, and I found it fun and just the right amount of challenge: not too easy so as to be boring, but not so difficult that it was frustrating. The game-play was smooth, the graphics really lovely, and the music nice, but non-intrusive. The strategy guide was easy to use, and for the CE, the bonus chapter was fun and took the game to the next level. I enjoyed it tremendously.
I recommend this game!

This game could have been fun, but the technical aspects made it almost a chore to play. The loading between every single screen change took forever. It made me lose interest quickly, and eventually made me so frustrated I almost didn't finish the game. The ending hinted at a sequel, but I wouldn't purchase it. It's a shame too, the graphics were well-done and the music was decent.
I don't recommend this game.
