This is not just any tale, this is a great tale. The storyline has depth and surprises. Oh I love the eye candy graphics and all the pretty people in it. Wonderful mini games and enough HOs without being a deluge of it. Challenging without being over done to the point where you lose the essence of the game. Are you a fairy tale lover? Then dig in, it will be money well spent to give you hours of fun and entertainment.

I could not find anything not to like in this game. Fantastic storyline. Outstanding graphics. Good HO's and great mini games. You are the detective. Get to the bottom of the dirtiest plans the human mind can conceive to achieve their most vain desires. Be the judge. This game is a classic in a new age. Even those who are not HOG lovers will enjoy this game. Good singing too of the Edgar Allan Poe's Raven poem :)

This is an excellent game for solitaire lovers, the graphics is smooth, the game is challenging, the music soothing and supports the location and storyline, you feel like you are in a forest, or by the beach. So while the cards challenge you, the music sooths you. Sometimes, I would stop playing and just listen. The only reason for the four stars, I DISLIKE DRUIDS AND RUNES.
I recommend this game!

Fancy going to another planet - a more sophisticated earth perhaps - with similar political problems to solve. Wonderful storyline and the game runs true to it right through to the end. Wonderful eye candy graphics, outstanding scenes to visit, each one more surprising than the last. Challenging interaction and new lines of mini games. The video and crossovers are smooth. Long enough to enjoy hours of fun. The audio is crystal clear - I turned it down, especially the noise of footsteps walking on hard concrete, much too sharp for me but it all forms part of the experience.
I recommend this game!

I have purchased most of Edgar Allan Poe games. I have even given them a bad review once for going HO crazy. I like HOGs but dislike HOG's with HO scenes at every turn. This game gives enough HO scenes, lots of challenging mini games, a great story that the game follows right through to the end, great voice overs and wonderful eye candy graphics. A well balanced game. I never use tutorials and avoid hints. Long enough to enjoy all the fun with a good ending. So what more can one ask for but immersion. I never stopped playing until I hit the end. I most definitely recommend this game. I gave it a four, one has to leave room for more outstanding efforts.
I recommend this game!

I just loved everything about Exiled Prince. I bought THE STANDARD EDITION AND THEN BOUGHT THE COLLECTORS EDITION. Afterwards I gifted the standard edition to someone and that person loved it so much that this game became a ruler used to measure all future games. Games tried have to match or beat Dark Parables:The Exiled Prince in all categories or it is a no sale. I do not call myself an expert but I never use tutorials, seldom look at strategies and avoid hints. So I would say I am good at it and love playing HOGs but more so those with a great story line and with no annoying helps to spoil my fun. If I need help wait for me to ask for it. I like playing all games but HOGs are one of my favorites and most Tea Tree games are way up there among the excellent ones. If you love a good story with an eye for beautiful things and a challenging game that holds you until you finish it no matter if you never sleep. Buy this one.
I recommend this game!

These Allan Poe games are HOG games and I concede that but not because I like HOG games that you have to give me an HOG scene every two seconds and sometimes three or four at the same time. I bought three Allan Poe games at the same time after playing the demos - big mistake. They must make the games more interesting and space out these HOGs and my goodness find ways to insert them into the game that draws life into the game and not 'kill it'
Also use some imagination and find different type of scenes (although Murder in the Rue Morgue explored that area better than the first two). Still within a few minutes I have searched dozens of the same items. Boring. The mini games are not bad and the stories are good. However, Allan Poe games could get me to hate HOG's. That is until I came across an HOG where a character threw a bomb into a garbage bin to destroy evidence. Quickly I acting the part of the cameraman rushed to get water to douse the flames and low and behold the most wonderful HOG scene you ever saw, with the coals still burning the search is on to find evidence in the cinder remnants. Now that is an HOG with interest. Not you open a door and four HOG scenes are waiting for you. Heh! I am rolling my eyes to the ceiling so much at the sight of these HOG scenes that I feel my eyes will get stuck somewhere in the back of my head. I like the stories and would like to see improvement. If you are reading this review and like HOG scene much like a solitaire game, from one to the other, then go ahead and enjoy.
I don't recommend this game.
