_Terrible_ AI voice acting and super generic art assets. None of the assets look like they belong together and the font choice is the worst. I couldn’t even get to the first HOP.
I had played the sample of this game a few times, and finally decided to pick it up. The story is compelling. The HOP are unique. Even the voice acting and music is good. If this was remade with modern graphics it would be an A++!
That being said, the graphics are, well, good for their age? And the play screen is tiny compared to modern games. Did it affect my enjoyment of the game? Maybe a tiny bit? But I think it's still worth a playthrough.
Overall I'm very impressed and the design team deserves all the cookies. And a raise. :)
The residents of Bitterford, Maine have fallen prey to a terrible curse. It’s up to you to unravel the series of mysterious events that led to the town’s downfall and uncover the evil that was responsible.
This is a Mystery Case Files game? Really? The acting is terrible and the mechanics are not challenging at all. There were no 'puzzles' only matching games and HOPs. And only one HOP to boot!
As for the story? There wasn't one yet? Except there is a spooky town? And there is an evil artifact? We don't even know why it's evil. It just is? It's not scary at all, though there were two jump scares that I remember, but they were unrelated to the plot.
With this title Mystery Trackers has finally come into its own. The game play, HOPs, and puzzles are good. The story is interesting. The only reason I didn't buy this game is I couldn't get past the silly monsters.
This is 100% personal preference though. And if you like the sample and don't mind the silliness, then this is the game for you!
This is the third game in the series I've tried. The first one was okay, the second one was meh. This one? I'm really not sure. It was better than the second one, but not enough to wow me.
This game is the first in the series to have multiple difficulty levels. It also has slightly more advanced HOPs. The other puzzles make sense, but again, weren't that much of a challenge.
The graphics are good, although the cut scenes are a little cheezy. The plot seemed interesting, but the game play didn't hold my attention long enough to keep me interested.
Overall, this series is getting better, but isn't quite there yet. Will try the next one to see how it is.
I sort of liked the first episode of this game, so I thought I'd try out the second one. This one is okay? The plot had a lot of potential but it was not executed very well.
The HOP puzzles were old school, which isn't surprising given the age of the game, but the other puzzle types were fairly easy and very straight forward.
The graphics were good, again for the age of the game, The music was okay.
Overall, I was not impressed and will not be purchasing the full version. However, the story seemed like it could be interesting, so I'm going to give the next game in this series a go. Hopefully, the game makers improved with time as there was a lot of potential here.
This game had a good story and beautiful graphics. The voice actors were and the challenge level was just hard enough to be interesting.
The only thing I didn't like was the ending. It seemed really rushed, like they ran out of time/money to finish it. Also while the bonus story was decent, it didn't add to the story and it wasn't as interesting as the main plot.
I would definitely say by the regular addition and skip the collector's edition.
When the entire audience disappears from a film screening at an old theater, you must go behind the scenes to find out who is running the mysterious Nightmare Cinema!
This was a good game with good puzzles. The HOPs were more interesting than the first game and added "hidden" objects" that needed to be uncovered to the list.
The plot was okay, but the twist was great!
Still looks like an older game. And while this one does have a causal and advanced option, there is still no map.
Great older title! Suitable for adults, may be a bit creepy for young children. :)
