This is the fifth game in the PuppetShow series. For some reason this game takes place in the past again. This story continues off the last game mostly ignoring the plots from the original games. Your detective character doesn't even recognize some of the villains right away. If it was a stand alone game, I would have rated it higher, but as it stands I was not impressed.
Let me tell you the good news first. Once again amazing graphics! The voice acting is good, though a couple people seem a bit miscast. The story is not bad (as a stand alone# and there is more of the creepy feel that the last game was lacking. The mini games and HOPs are the biggest change in this game.
The HOPs have improved immensely. In addition to the standard HOPs there are also "find the silhouette" versions and versions where you need to use the objects in the scene to find other objects. This breaks up the game a lot as there are still a lot of HOPs in the game.
The mini games are still challenging and varied, though I wish they had a hint button as I ended up skipping a few as I was completely stuck.
This is the first game were you gain a helper companion. Along with the normal mini games you can also collect hat patterns for your helper and do mini to put them together. Then your helper can wear the different hats, though they only appear on him when he is in your inventory, not when he is in the world screen. You can also collect figurines to display in your own puppet theater and if you collect them all #including from the extra chapter) you get a special ending scene with one of the characters.
You are also given a map in this game, which tells you where you are and where you need to do things. You can use it to warp some of the time, but other times you aren't allowed. It also has an odd idea of when there are things to do in different areas and after a while I started ignoring that bit as it kept "lying" to me.
As with the last game, the weakest part of the game is the plot. This is a shame, because it actually starts really well, but then it slips into meh fairly quickly. The ending actually made me roll my eyes.
I have already purchased the next game, but if I hadn't, I would probably have skipped it. Hoping for the best, but not expecting as much this time.
I don't recommend this game.

This is the fourth addition to the PuppetShow series and I must say I was disappointed in this one.
First the upsides. There is now a easy, medium, and hard mode. There are voice actors for the main characters, which are well done. There is also a journal so you don't have to keep track of information on your own. And as always the graphics are great!
The HOPs are branching out a bit. Now there are things you need to do to find certain objects, like using shears to cut grass for example. Also the non-HOPs are varied and challenging.
Now for the bad news. If you've played the other three games you will notice a markedly different tone to this game. First of all the villain from the previous games is now a "good guy". While that can be done well, they achieved this by rewriting some of the villain's backstory to make it fit their purposes. I was not impressed at all.
Also, the creepy puppets that are the namesake of this series are a LOT less creepy and a lot less prevalent. The resulting tone is not nearly as horrific as the last three games and I think it looses a lot because of this.
I'm hoping the next game will return to the interesting plots and creepy puppets of it's predecessors. We'll see.
I don't recommend this game.

This is the third installment of the PuppetShow series and it is just as creepy as the last two! This game boasts improved graphics, creepier puppets, and good puzzles.
The storyline for this one was not as in-depth as the last two, but it does continue the overarching plot well.
The HOPs are good. This time there are more "hidden" items in the HOPs. I'm hoping in the next game they get slightly more creative with them. I'm more used to the modern HOPs where there is more to do than just search and click.
The non-HOPs are good and challenging. They are also varied enough to make it interesting.
There is a strategy guide, but still no hints unless you are in an HOP. This time I did end up using the strategy guide a couple times when I was completely stumped as to what to do next.
Overall a great game. Can't wait for the next one!
I recommend this game!

This is the second PuppetShow game and I was happy to find it was as good as the first. This time the game was a bit easier to navigate and while there are still no hints unless you are in a HOP, there is at least a strategy guide if you get super stuck. I was able to get through the game and the extra chapter without using the strategy guide, but I was wandering around lost a few times before I figured out what I was supposed to do.
This game takes the plot and the villain from the first game and continues the story nicely. It is just as creepy as the first, but the graphics are better and the non-HOP puzzles are more varied.
Good game! Can't wait to play the next one!
I recommend this game!

While the graphics were good for its age and the HOPs were well done, the rest of the game left a lot to be desired. The plot made very little sense and what you ended up using a lot of the items for was not intuitive at all. I only finished it because I had nothing else to do.
Not bad if you like HOPs and shiny graphics, but not much else of interest here.
I don't recommend this game.

This is the first in the PuppetShow series. It is a very old school game. No hints unless you're in a puzzle. And HOPs every ten seconds. But if you can get past is basic play, the plot is really interesting.
If you don't like old school HOPs I would suggests skipping this title or at least playing the preview before buying it.
I can't wait to see what happens in the next game though. Definitely worth the purchase. :)
I recommend this game!

This game has everything you would want in a HOP game. It's got a good plot, visuals, voice acting, puzzles. Everything is perfect.
The way you interact with the world is unique and familiar all at the same time. You seem to be in control of the plot the whole time and...AND my favorite part: you don't have to look around for a stupid brick to break a window when you are holding at least three other things that would work! The way you go through the game actually makes sense!
Best game ever! :D

Okay so technically this is a prequel. But it is by far the best game in the Awakenings series. The story is great, the voice acting and visuals are good too.
The puzzles are unique and fun. This is now one of my favorite Big Fish games I've ever played and the series as a whole ranks just under Mystery Case Files as my favorite series.
Great game for adults or children!
I recommend this game!

The fifth episode of the Awakening series continues our journey. More unique puzzles and a lot more plot make this a great continuation from the last four games.
My only annoyance with this game is you have to be VERY specific with where you click on occasion. I found myself lost a few time because something I had tried already hadn't worked simply because of my click "missing" its target.
Still a fun game and worth the purchase. The extra story at the end while not as tied in as the last game, was still worth the collector's edition purchase.
Great for kids and adults!
I recommend this game!

This is the 4th Awakening game and they really do get better each time!
This game is long, challenging, fun, and has LOTS of different types of puzzles. They do unique HOPs mixed in with more typical ones. Plus knot puzzles, matching games, and a ton of other logic puzzles.
This is the first game in the series where everyone has a voice, except the main character of course. And finally we are given a map that let's you warp to locations! It also is the first game that has a bonus "episode" if you get the collector's edition. And the Epilog, as its called, is one of the longest and most like the original game that I've seen.
My only small complaint is a few times I had literally no idea what I should do next. But the hints were subtle enough, that they pushed me in the right direction.
Great game for kids and adults!
