I grant that I only went a few levels in the sample game. However, The very first level annoyed me, because before they could go adventuring, the girls had to clean up and wash dishes. Who wrote this? My dad? (I'm 67, btw.) This is a lot like the other Viking time management games, but the graphics are definitely better. So, it depends on how you are with this type of game. I've had the others long enough and played them enough times, that I'm not going to bother. If you are new at this, and can look past the "women's work" maybe you will enjoy it.

The graphics are bright and shiny and look just like the mall! Christmasy? Yep. But, personally, I just hate HOs that have so many things in them that they look like someone just dumped a truck of junk in a pile. That's what these are. Everything is hard to find. Maybe I'm lazy, but I do not like these. I also dislike when anything I do, no matter how long it takes or how many hints I use, gets me a "good job" or some such trite pat on the back. What? Am I six to need so much encouragement?
The graphics are good, but nothing special. The HO scenes are sometimes really hard to identify things. Instructions for some of the puzzles made no sense to me. Every time something went wrong or she fell, the hands waved; always the same, no variety. I hated the ending. Hated the graphics in it, as well as the story line. The morphs are good, but if you miss any, you can't go back after the game is done. There's no bonus game!!!! It's a comic book prequel. I don't pay extra for a comic book. The strategy guide always opens to the location where you are now, not to where it was open last. That would be great if you needed hints for the game, but, since I rarely use the SG for anything but to find the morphs and collectables, I found it very annoying.
There's nothing in this game that stands out and says "great game." Definitely not worth the price of a CE. Not worth my time, either.

This series has been good. Graphics, HOS, mini games, etc. have all been enjoyable. This game was the same; however, my favorite part has been the dwarf. He doesn't show up in this one, and I am annoyed by that.
The game itself is fine: nice graphics, decent puzzles and HOS, acceptable story line, etc. However, the bonus game in the CE was short, and, worse for me, there was nothing regarding the extra morphs through the game. Nada. Not even a screen showing if you got them all, let alone the option to find any you missed. Therefore, except for the strategy guide, IMHO, there is no point in spending the extra money on the CE. Just get the SE and find the walkthrough if you get stuck.
I like games that have morphing objects and collectable items scattered throughout the rooms. I don't like games that have those, then don't let you go back in the bonus section and gather the ones you missed. This game doesn't let you gather the missed pieces, ergo, I was not happy with the game.

Seeing things was tough: e.g.: There were lots of hidden objects like a mural where there were highlighted words in the text below, and you have to find just those objects. Fine. However, the background for the text was white/cream and the highlighted terms were yellow. Almost no contrast between highlighted term and background. Very hard to read. Also, the overall style of the graphics was busy and baroque. Again, very hard to see what was what.
Worst for me was that there actually were no "extras." I have no use for wallpapers, music, original sketches, etc. I want the morphs and other extra hidden objects. I want to be able to go back and find the ones I missed. Nope. To do that, you have to go back and play the entire game through again. I hate that. Unfortunately, you don't know that will happen until you get to the end of the game. Well, I got to the end, and I'm here to warn you that if you want those, don't buy this game. You can't get them.
The "extras" look very nice and the action in the levels is fast enough, but the designers put in so much fancy stuff around the field of play that the symbols are too small for my older eyes to keep looking at for long.
I can't play this for more than a few minutes at a time, so, no, not buying it. Not recommending it.
I didn't time it, but this game felt way short to me. I was glad to be able to go back and find any signs I'd missed, but they were pretty easy in the first place. Didn't miss any morphs in the HOPs either, so had none of those to go back for. Glad to have souvenirs to look for at the end. Acceptable, but not certainly not great, and, again, short.
