Another Elephant game. As always, very nice graphics and game play. Had absolutely no problems with the demo. Voice overs are nice and appropriate to scenery and time frame. HOGS are not difficult by any means and are very clear and clean. Games are not difficult either.
We do get extras, but you don't know what you are looking for until you either purchase the full game, or accidentally find one, which is what I did. There may be others that I haven't tripped over yet as well. The instructions should at least let you know that you are looking for "something."
Nice SG with very clear pictures and next move instructions, and it is out of the way of the other icons. Very easy to follow. I like that they list how many chapters are in the story. Music nice and so are the sound FX. Hint system is very helpful and fills fairly quickly. The map is not identified as a map, but is a compass. If you click on the crystal ball, you are sent to the achievement section.
There is a jump map, which is quite helpful since you use a tremendous amound of shoe leather in this game. Unlike other Elephant games, this one is not very challenging, but I found it interesting and a little different story. I'm not quite sure why, but I have to break my "no more CE games" rule and get this to add to my collection. Maybe I just need something clear, clean and nice for a change.
As always, try it for yourself and see what you think. We all have different tastes in games and you may not care for this one at all. Thanks for the reviews.
I recommend this game!

I have a few of this dev's games and have enjoyed what I have. This game has nice graphics and game play. Voice overs are quite nice and appropriate for the time and setting. However, I do not see a need to have a cutout of the person speaking when they are standing right in front of you. You can click through the dialoge, which I like, since I read faster than they speak. There is a jump map, which is very helpful since you do a lot of running around. Nice SG and hint system, both very helpful.
HOGs are a little different. Very clean and not difficult to find items. The only thing I didn't care for were all the sparkles to tell me where the "close up silhouette" items were. I demo all new games on the easiest setting, but that was beyond easy and not necessary, as the items were not difficult to see or find.
The one thing that I "really" didn't care for is that it only shows two chapters. I like to see how many there are to gauge about how long a game might be. The only extras I have seen so far is the need to find a piece of paper in each scene...not sure why yet.
This is suppose to be based on true facts, but I don't remember this story at all. Granted, I am not a pirate expert, but I do have a great interest and have read quite a lot on them. Still, not to say it didn't happen...who knows what really went on back then.
This was not an extremely challenging game and the games were not difficult. I did find the story interesting and the game fun for a change of pace. I know, I have sworn off CE games, but the half price sale makes it dificult and I have been sitting on another one, waiting for a sale like this. I will get this game and the other today.
As always, try it for yourself and see what you think. We all have different tastes in games and you may not care for this one at all. Thanks for the reviews.

Hello, pond pals. A game from a dev that I am not familiar with, but sounds like they must be around somewhere. Anyway, not a bad game today. Graphics are clear and game play is very nice. Didn't have any problems with the demo at all. Hint system is helpful and fills fairly quickly. There is a jump map and it does tell what location you are pointing at (unless you have an incredible memory, this is extremely helpful#. Nice voice overs and sound FX.
SG isn't too bad, but some instructions were not real clear. Really don't need the SG when you use the hint. There are some collectables to find #a little different than the usual stuff#. HOGs were clean and clear, but all the same. I don't mind this type of HOG #find this in order to find that), but a few here and there would be much better than all of them being the same.
Story is a little different. Yes, someone is missing and you have to find them, but still a little different. The only thing I really did not care for was the constant up and down of the guide at the top of the page...why would you do that?? Annoying to say the least. This was not an extremely challenging game and did not grab me from the beginning, but I did find it interesting and a little different.
I have a pile of punches to use and as usual, there is no good SE in sight...they just keep piling up. I'm going to go ahead and get this one, but that's it for the CE games until I can get rid of my punches. I've lost too many already and that's money down the drain.
As always, try it for yourself and see what you think. We all have different tastes in games and you may not care for this one at all. Thanks for the reviews.

Wasn't too sure about this one at first. Didn't care for the cursor at all. I wish when they allow you to remove the custom cursor, they would actually remove it and not just make it a smaller version.
Anyway, not a bad game. Graphics and game play are nice. Colors are very bright and clear. HOGs were quite simple, as were the games...nothing new here either. Nice voice overs, but the "detective" made some really silly remarks, e.g. "oh no, a skeleton." Really, it's a ghost ship! I didn't see anything that scared me, but it was a bit of fun. Hint system is quite helpful and fills very quickly.
This isn't a bad game for an SE and since I have a pile of credits to use up, I'm going to get it. Lost another credit yesterday, not happy about that, but we haven't had any good SE games for quite some time now. Sometimes you just need a "no brainer," and this is it.

Graphics are fairly clear and bright, game play is nice. Voice overs are good, but few and far between. HOGs have easy to find items, although a few are a bit dark. Games are not easy and do take some thought to complete. Hint system filled at the usual rate and was helpful.
There is a click penalty, something we have not seen for quite some time. This seems to send this one back in time a bit. Speaking of back in time, this is another game that does just that. Pick up the amulet and you are transported back...again. Nothing new here.
There were a number of typos in the written dialogue as well...words running together. This was not a particularly challenging game for me. You have to find a ruby to get more hints, and they are not all that easy to see (very dark areas). That seems to be the only extra in this game and that isn't much.
This game is more for the beginner than anyone else, and I'm sure a beginner would find it fun. The game is quite quiet, even with music turned up. Needs some sound FX or something. I recommend for beginners, but not for the advanced or expert player, so no buy for me.

Morning all. Graphics are very cartoon like, but clear. Game play is nice. Very quiet game, not a lot of music or sound FX. HOGs are a bit messy and run together. Takes a lot of looking to find items. Games are very easy.
Does have a jump map and you do return to the same place over and over again, as well as the same HOGs. The voice of the cookie is extremely annoying.
There is no real direction in this game. Yes, you are looking for the bad witch and the kids, but there is no action, other than watching cookies jump around and make faces at you. Hopefully this game gets better as it goes along, but I'm not going to find out. I did not find this game challenging at all. Nor did I find that I just had to have it. It definitely is not CE material and is geared more for the beginner...a real beginner. There isn't anything else to say about this one...it just doesnt' have it. There are very few games that I don't recommend for one reason or another, but this is not one of them. No buy for me today.

I love ERS games and have many in my collection. The graphics seem a bit old school and dull. Game play is very nice. Voice overs are nice, but few and far between. This game is very quiet as far as sound FX are concerned which makes it a little boring.
This game reminds me of that Brando movie, where he is the crazy doctor turning people into animals and vice versa (the name escapes me right now). The HOGs are okay, items easy to find. Games fairly simple but take a little thought.
There is a jump map, but no area is identified, so you have to remember what a room looked like in order to jump to it. Believe me, you are going to use the jump a lot. Way too much jumping to the same area for one item here and one there. Gets real tiring real fast. Hint system is nice and helpful and I like the fact that you can set the refill speed to whatever you want...very nice addition. Also like that the inventory bar locks in place..hate that thing jumping up and down all the time. Nice SG, except that a few key words were left out here and there, i.e. return to, or back to, or go to...it will just tell you to do something and you know you are not in the correct location to do it. A little guessing game.
This game did not knock me off my seat and I admit I was getting a little bored with the cute little animals. I love animals, but enough is enough. That raccoon is annoying and constantly has to eat. This is not a bad game, but it did not make me want to run out and buy it either. I'm going to put this one in my puddle for another day and wait for a really good special. It just didn't strike me as CE worthy and was not at all challenging. I do recomment this for a beginner who just wants to walk through a game.

I demoed the CE version of this game and really didn't find it all that appealing, and not worth the CE price. The graphics and game play are very nice. Love the voice overs. Not a lot of HOGs or games. HOGS are fairly clean and clear.
This is not a particularly challenging game, but it is nice. There is a lot of running back and forth to locations numerous times for one thing here and one thing there. Fortunately you have a jump map. The hint button is quite helpful, but takes quite a while to reload.
I am going to get this game today, but since I don't have another SE to add to the special, I am forced to get the CE version. Oh well, it ends up being half price, so that's okay. Off to get this one and Echoes of the Past. Should be some way to get an SE and a CE on the special.

Here we go with a 5th installment of the Awakening adventures. I have 3 of the first 4, didn't care for Skyware Castle and couldn't justify getting it for my collection. This game has the same type of graphics and blah colors. Game play is nice. Music okay.
The map identifies the locations when you run the cursor over it (major plus). Does have morphing objects, and they are not that easy to spot. Like the little dragon.
This game was not all that exciting, nor was it very challenging. I was not drawn in like I was with the first 3 games, which were very good games. I did sort of like the HOGs...different with the need to change the screen color to pick up the object. But again, not exciting.
Did not care for the SG at all. Mostly because you can't access it from the game screen, you have access from the menu, then triple exit out to get back to the game...too much clicking. Went backward in time with this one. I found it easier and less time consuming to just use the hint button, which worked quite nicely. Even with the special today, I do not have the need to purchase this game. Too bad, I do like the series. I'm not even sure I will get the SE when it comes out. It is not a bad game, so I do recommend it. The devs just needed to take a little more time with it.

Hello pond pals. Another Echoes game. I have the other 4 and really liked them all. I'm on the fence about this one. The graphics and game play are very nice. Games not easy and do take some thought and time to complete (so far#. HOGs are very simple, but fun...clean and clear so no eye strain. As usual, I do not care for the fact that you don't know how many chapters there are in the game, so can't judge approximate length of game either.
Voice overs make a game, but they could have been done a little better. They boy sounded very whinny and annoying. I like the locking inventory bar #can't stand for it to constantly pop up and down when I play). SG is nice and simple, but definitely in the wrong place. Too close to the hint bar and easy to hit the wrong button. Hint fills farily quickly, but has an annoying blink every few minutes or so. Didn't care for that at all.
There is a jump map, which you will constantly use, but a disappointment. Yes, it takes you where you want to go, but none of the locations are identified. A green dot does blink bright on the areas that have something to complete, but unless you have a very good memory, you are looking all over to find the room you need. Not much in the way of collectables either, or at least, not in the first chapter.
It was a nice game, but something seems to be missing...not sure what. I will probably purchase this game to add to my Echoes collection, but for now, it is going in my puddle for another day. Maybe when there is a special, but not today.
As always, try it for yourself and see what you think. We all have different tastes in games and you may find that this is exactly what you wanted today. Thanks for the reviews.
