This has to be one of the longest games I have played or maybe it was just that I had to do it in bite sized pieces?? It wasn't that it was bad or anything but I had one of those annoying floating pointers that you can't control very well. Overall I would say the level of challenge is good but not taxing and the fact that the map tells you where to go makes you lazy. Having said that though each task is miles away from the last and you can't just click on the map to get to where you want to go which is a little annoying. No sounds either which can make it a little boring at times. But on the whole, not too bad but probably won't play again.
I have liked all the games in this series but I suppose with each new one you expect just that little bit more. This is a very good, enjoyable game but didn't quite live up to my expectations. I'm not a great fan of puzzles repeating them selves - once you crack the way to do them, they are always easy. I also found that I was never at a loss what to do. It always seemed to follow on logically, which again is not a bad thing but not very taxing. I would however recommend this game.
I have liked the previous games in this series but was disappointed with this one. It would seem they have tried too hard and the result was a game that was very slow in places, especially around the linking scenes. There was also little to no instruction in places. If you accidentally clicked on a game/puzzle too quick, you didn't get a chance to see the instructions again and that left you dangling. I'm also not so sure about the history element but will bow to better knowledge. All in all, not the greatest of the series but you have to feel they may just crack it with the next one.
What a superb game. Entertaining, maybe slightly under the level of difficulty i would have liked but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. For once a lovely voice over and good graphics. Well worth buying.
I liked the other Margrave games but I lasted 10 mins on the trial game. The amount of talking a pictures were over the top and it was so slow moving that I just got bored very quickly. Sorry guys, this one is not for me.
I do think this is by far the hardest of all the Jewel Quest games so far. I have just recently decided to play them all again from the begining and I gave up on this one (although I completed it when it first came out). I found it frustrating, annoying and just too hard in places to be able to enjoy it. You are at the mercy of the board in most places and that means that no matter how much skill you have, you will not be able to complete it until it wants you to, urrrggghhh!
I always like to have a M3 game on the go and my favourites are the Jewel Quest range. As I had completed all the games and I wanted something to play I decided to go back through them. As you would expect they have come along way since they started but I still really liked this one. It had a good level of difficulty without ever feeling it was impossible. If you are just starting out on the Jewel Quest, I would recommend starting with this one.
This has been one of the most enjoyable HO games I have played recently. The puzzles are not too hard but just hard enough to make you think. The HO sequences are well done and the items are big enough to see. Also it seems to have gone on for ages, which makes it excellent value. The down side is that there is virtually no sound and as my eyesight is not so good, I do sometimes have to rely on what I hear. But all in all a worthy recommendation.
I have been starting to get a little bit bored with the Hidden Object games I have been playing but this one has restored my desire to play them. The puzzles are not so easy you don't have to think about it, but not so hard you can't do them. There is a fair amount of going backwards and forwards but at least there is a map to help you out. Just one tip for the makers - Please ask your voice over people to speak normally and not try to act. It sounds so false!
I absolutely adore these games. I always have one on the go so get very excited when a new one comes out. The sleepless star was great, with new boards but a little difficult in places. However this one I thought was just a little too easy. In fact I only failed to do one board on all the levels. I liked the new types of board (except the pathmaking board - boring!) but I would except to struggle a little on occasion. Overall though this are great games and keep me occupied for hours.
