Louis the Clown and Mr. Dudley are back in an all-new adventure! Travel through the dark corners of history's most famous fairytales to rescue children trapped in a frightening netherworld!
Having received a teddy to be my hint man right at the start of the game made me melt. Teddies always do. I find I use fewer hints because I don't want him to have to blow up another balloon. The game is just ok. Tho I had planned to stop before the hour was up to buy it (free game coupon#, the time went by too fast. Maybe it's better than just ok. Maybe it's really ok. This game has no map, not much of a journal #2 entries in an hour), and it freezes a bit now and then. I can handle that for free. Pay for it? With the sale on it, I might just have done that too.
When I started this game I figured it would be the typical 'survival' game. Hit by an avalanche, find stuff to survive. Seemed that way at first.
Quickly it became a mystery story. How? Play it yourself. :#
After less than half the hour demo I bought it. The SG is very good, the Hints even tell you how long until it's recharged, same with the skip button.
I play games on casual. I really don't like points, this hasn't any #so far, gee I hope they don't come later#. I'm playing only for myself. I'm enough competition for me.
The snow even crunches.
How come games set in snow come out in winter? Would be great in August. ;P
The Brothers Grimm have assigned the task of revealing the truth behind missing children in the town of Arbourshire; it is up to you to discover the secrets of the Fairy Tale Mystery, before it is too late.
Bad kids (who sneak out at night) end up missing. Old tale, but, with a twisted twist. I bought it after 45 minutes of Demo. The hints are good & recharge fairly fast. The HOS take some work, but, isn't that the point of an HOS game? The story keeps me wanting to go further, not stop, find the next fact. The stragegy guide only has one small problem. It's very clear, but, clicking on the pictures doesn't enlarge them. So if you need to see small things in those pictures keep a magnefing glass handy.
And not know it. This game starts out very typically. Old friend needs help, old friend (who knows what's going on) is now missing. After that it takes a left turn into mildly weird. Which makes it a fantastic game! Only problem is with the strategy guide. Not much guide, mostly ok pictures. Seems to be a trend lately. Which I do not like. Give me back guides that actually guide...PLEASE! All in all an almost perfect game.
This game isn't bad. It isn't good. It's just middling. If I didn't have a coupon to get it free I wouldn't have bought it. The game feels like it was designed by committee. I'm having trouble with this review because I can't think of anything good or bad to say about it.
If you have a free game coupon about to expire.....get it. Too bad there's no check box for 'recommend-sort of'.
I've missed him, but, how I could throttle him now. Got to follow his trail to find out what is what and who is really who. Or who is what, or maybe what is who. It's the most happily tied up in knots game I've played recently. Only one little imperfection. Sometimes when a voice is speaking the loudness goes way down so it's almost impossible to hear. If you set voice loud enough to hear those parts you are blasted out with the other voice parts. Frustrating. But, not enough to keep me from playing. ;P
I recommend this game!

Journey: The Heart of Gaia
After being kidnapped, Liz must free the Underworld from the tyranny of Scartaris Umbra.
The cartoonish graphics make it tough for an adult (me) to find the objects necessary. The character you portray spends most of her time saying 'I can't'. Not something I'd want kids to see. Story is facinating, but, wasted in this game.
Don't buy it. 'I can't' handle the negativity of the character. ;P
I don't recommend this game.

Guardians of Magic: Amanda's Awakening
Open your eyes to a wondrous world in Guardians of Magic: Amanda's Awakening, a spectacular adventure of science and spell-casting.
After 29 minutes I had seen "Maybe I should...." one too many times. It's a great idea that isn't helped by having little to no guidance. Someone said it's a good game for a beginner. No way. And not good if you have high blood pressure. It's irritating, slow, no 'path' to follow. It's a story in search of a game, and it doesn't find one. The puzzles are ok, but, most really don't lead much of anywhere. Not one real 'AH HA!' moment in the first 29 minutes. I want my 'ah ha's!
Prepare for a mind-bending journey into the realm of the weird in Haunted Halls: Revenge of Dr. Blackmore! Brace yourself for the unexpected in this exciting Hidden Object adventure!
When Dr Blackmore shows up in a game I know it will be bad...erm I mean GOOD! He's bad. With only 26 minutes played I had to buy it. The HOS was different, having to combine multiple items, to make the object was interesting. A kangaroo......that is new & cute. Having to help others to get ahead is heartwarming & a bit unusual. To move forward in this game you need to be the opposite of Blackmore. Think WWBD* & do the opposite. :) Enjoy!!!
As darkness falls, strange dreams from the past haunt Dianne. Help her uncover the hidden secret that lies within her dreams and unravel a love story that’s lost within time.
I started the demo with not much hope. I'd read the reviews. I did so want to like this. But, with hints when you don't really need them, and no hints when you are really stuck, after 20 minutes I quit. I knew I was in trouble when in a HOS I was asked to find a tiger. I couldn't. Clicked on hint....finally. And it pointed to a wooden bear. Guys I know the difference between a tiger and a bear. This isn't a translation mistake. This is sloppy game making. Which is one thing that sends me screaming away. That could be a spoiler (tiger/bear), but, I think of it as saving the sanity of future gamers who try this. ;P
