I started this game 3.5 hours ago. It's done. I got no sound 'effects'. Just ok music. No owls hooted, no fires crackled, no doors squeaked, no key sounds #though LOTS of keys#. I realized the silence of this game not long after I bought it. Oh well. It was worth the free game coupon. I guess. It coulda been a great game if someone had cared enough. I'm a tiny bit sick of 'save my brother' games. All brothers are not doofus's, XXXXXX <---spoiler removed. We didn't even meet the bad guy ******** <---Spoiler removed. Makes me wonder if.....nah they wouldn't do that.
I don't recommend this game.

Sherlock Holmes VS Jack the Ripper
Sherlock Holmes faces off against England’s most violent and mysterious killer in this thrilling Hidden Object adventure game!
I had such high hopes. I loved Hound of the Baskervilles. This, however, isn't even a quarter as good. The visuals are stunning but the game play is stilted, no tutorial, no hints and after 27 minutes no puzzles. Everyone makes square corners when they walk. Just not up to the quality I've come to expect of Big Fish. You can play either 3rd person or 1st person. First person means you can play one of the 2 (Holmes, Watson) without the help of cues. Not even the 'walk this way' footprints. It's a sad little game, if you can call it a game. Map doesn't even show you where 'you' are.
I've only played the first 19 minutes, and have bought it. The strategy guide is helpful, which is important to me. It didn't take a long time to load, that is usually more my computer's fault if it does load slowly.
Voice overs would be nice, but, they are an extra luxury. I'd rather the game works well, than have VO's. Both cost money, I'd rather it spent on the game than bells and whistles.
Follow a mad killer in Night In The Opera, a thrilling Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure game. An envious alchemist devises a mystical musical instrument capable of drawing the last breath of his victims.
After using a secret alias to board the Titanic, things go terribly wrong and you find yourself trapped among the wreckage. In order to earn freedom from your watery tomb you must appease your captor by re-writing history and freeing the spirits trapped aboard the 'unsinkable' luxury liner as well as discover why fate has chosen this destiny for you.
I wasn't expecting to like this. Too much Titanic stuff out there. But, the play is engrossing, the music fantastic, the graphics in main (underwater) section & in the flashbacks are beautiful and so different. Only one little thing. If the main character is spirit, how come she can't float over under and through places underwater? ok 2 things; she's under water and doesn't notice she isn't breathing or drowning? Suspend your disbelief and journey to the present, past, & everywhere inbetween! I like this frustrating, mesmerizing, fun game!!
The first in this series was good (replaying now), but, it had some flaws.
They learned & fixed them. No more going from room to room ad nauseum, you have a map to tp between scenes. It tightedned up the game, makes it much more interesting, The story is better intergrated, not jagged peices of story that really don't go together.

I get that it's for kids (very little kids). But, story is lacking & game play is mostly walking. Back and forth. Characters don't seem to interact. Don't want to settle problems. Instead of asking friend why she's mad, she goes to study telepathy. Is that what we want to teach our kids?
