I don't know what to make of this game. You can see by my ratings it was all over the place. This game is mostly adventure/puzzle. You had about 6-8 scenes in each chapter, and silhouettes of what you need to find. A lot of the time I had no idea what to do, and a lot of the time the hint button was no help at all. It is very challenging in that regard. The puzzles themselves were fairly easy, it was the rest of the game that was hard. The storyline made no sense to me, and I never felt like I was having fun whilst playing. I used the hint button and the walkthrough a lot. I can only recommend this game for people looking for something different and challenging, those who love to figure out what to do on their own. If you just like the normal CE games we have, and are playing to have fun, this might not be for you. I'm giving it 3 stars because it is a good game for people who like this sort of game, but for my personal taste it was 2 stars at the best. If I ever replayed it, I think I might like it better the second time.
This is a nice HOPA with an excellent plot. No occult themes. Good mix of HOs, puzzles, and inventory use. Each chapter is self-contained with about 5 different scenes in each. There is a map, not really needed, and an objective list. The puzzles are in the easy to medium range. The HOs aren't too bad, there are some small objects, but the hint button refills quickly. The hint isn't always that helpful outside of the HOs, I did peek at a walkthrough a few times, but if I had been more patient I would have figured it out myself. I would rate this game an A for storyline and at least a B for everything else. It wasn't particularly long, but I enjoyed it and recommend it.
I recommend this game!

Journey: The Heart of Gaia
After being kidnapped, Liz must free the Underworld from the tyranny of Scartaris Umbra.
I loved this game. It is adventure light, no hidden object scenes. Lots of puzzles, ranging from easy to hard. There are also achievements. It is done in a fantasy style with bright vivid colors. The map tells you where you are, where something needs to be done and takes you there if you want. I actually walked for most of the game, that's how much I liked it! The chapters are self-contained, with only 5 or 6 scenes in each chapter so there isn't much back-tracking. This had everything I want in a game, to me it was perfect.
I did not like this game at all, but I can see that others might. The plot didn't make any sense to me and the HOs were constant. You had to do a HO to get a piece that opened something that had another HO in it, then you walked into the next room and there was another HO. They were very drab with grey/blue coloring. The minigames were few and fairly easy. There was lots and lots and lots of walking back and forth and back and forth. On the pro side, there was a map that told you where there was something to do, the hint button refilled almost instantly, and the game took a long time(although that was a minus for me). The same HOs were reused, I like that, but others don't. I only gave it 3 stars because the SE has morphing objects and if you really really like HO scenes you will like this game.
I loved playing this game and I wish I had gotten the CE because I want to keep playing! The SE is good on its own, you have tons of achievements to get, and cards and photographs to collect. The HO scenes were hard for me, but I didn't mind. There were a lot of them, some replayed, but they weren't back to back. The puzzles weren't that hard, but I liked them, there were a lot of them, they were pretty, and they fit well into the storyline. This game has an actual plot that makes sense and the things you do make sense. That really made the game for me. There is a wonderful diary with 4 different sections, including a map that lets you know where something needs to be done. It doesn't transport but I never minded walking through the beautiful mansion and interesting movie studio, because I knew where I needed to go do something. This game has a very 'period' feel and played very smoothly. This is one of the very few games that I will play again. I highly recommend it.
The Void army stretches its hungry arms towards innocent villagers. Harness the power of the elements to protect the kingdom and bring peace back to the land!
I tried this game and thought it was a wonderfully different concept. If there are other games like this, I haven't heard of them. Think Plants vs. Zombies but making matches to kill the bad guys. I played on easy and got really stressed out trying to find matches while the enemies chewed on my tower, so I decided I liked it, but too stressful. I kept thinking about it, though. This game was always in the back of my mind. Then I decided I had let myself get too stressed. They have to do lots and lots of chewing in easy mode to hurt you, and I had much more time(and weapons) than I was thinking I had, and of course I will get better the more I play, so I decided I just had to have it!
I did not like the way you had to transition from scene to scene in this game and it ruined the whole experience for me. The graphics were nice enough, and the story seemed alright, but every time I had to go to a different room it irritated me. I recently finished Vampire Saga:Welcome to HellLock and even though it had much different game mechanics I didn't like that one either. I don't know if I will ever finish this one, I can only play 15 minutes at a time before it gets on my nerves and I have to quit. As this game stands, it's a thumbs down from me. With a little work, though, it might be a decent game.
I loved, loved, loved this game! It is very long, I spent more than 10 hours on it and didn't want it to end. I will replay it, and I hardly ever replay a game. It has a morphing object in each scene to add to the fun. The graphics were good, the story was good, the hint button was good, it had a map that showed active areas. I love fragment games and this is a good one. My only complaint is that the mini games were too simple for my taste, but I like hard ones. This is the third game in the series, I am now off to buy the first two!
You have 3 or 4 scenes with inventory puzzles and simple H0 scenes. No instructions but easy enough to figure out if you think about what you have in your inventory and what you can do with it. Because the story doesn't really carry on from chapter to chapter it is easy to stop and start this game if you just have a short time to play. I really enjoyed this one!
