It was a buy for me after the demo. This is my 5th game in the series and like this better than the last 2 I bought. I always enjoy Joe's quotes, the directions throughout the game and all the options a player has. If you like to match items in all sorts of ways and combinations and still be challenged plus some cool puzzles thrown in try this game.
Game is just so, so. Nothing new here. After the demo I had had enough. When you play the timed mode they never give enough time so you play the same level over and over and it is just plain matching. I know it is a match 3 game but as someone else mentioned they could be more inventive like the Jewel Match series or an older game Imperial Island 3 (4 is okay and 5 started going down hill). So my recommendation is to spend your money on a match 3 game by Jewel Match Royal 2 or 5 year old game called Imperial Island 3. Both are a lot more fun and offer more entertainment for the money.
As the first 2 reviewers have provided the layout of the game and other details my review is simply of the game itself. If you have Atlantis 1 and 2, Atlantis 2 was a huge leap from 1. All 3 games are excellent if you enjoy match 3 games. Atlantis 3 is basically the exact same game as 2 except for adding the match 3 and more bonus’ games within the regular game. With that said I definitely recommend this game. It has soothing music, love being able to earn additional fish and a lot of trophies to earn. Like the map layout as they have had for many of their past games. For the price you cannot beat the amount of game play you get with it. Why would you buy 3 if you already have 2? I bought it to build new scenes and like the match 3 addition. If you have never played a Jewel Match series, I recommend you start now!
Wow really like this new series by Domini! Since the game has been out for over a week I will be brief. It was BOGO free I was looking for a 2nd game and this turned out to be it. I knew within minutes it was going to be a great game. Storyline is fascinating, graphics and voiceovers well done. The puzzles are interesting and so are the HOS. Highly recommend this game. I found nothing boring about this game. Try it!!
Elephant Games has come up with a winner in my detective book. Really like the mystery case storyline in this game as well as the first one in the series, Five Orange Pips. The current game takes it up a notch. Enjoy the interactive questions and clues and putting them together. In each scene is a puzzle piece to find and in some scenes a figurine. The map shows if you found the puzzle piece but not the figurine. From the map is an option to view the silhouette of the figurine and that offers some help. Like the older fashion graphics and feel of the game including the map. It goes well with the storyline. Voiceovers are done well and appropriate for the character. Like the puzzles there are some inventive ones and enjoyed the HOS although fairly standard for the most part. I really enjoyed this game it is a buy for me hope you will enjoy it too! Achievements are standard, wish they would come up with some new ideas.
Graphics as usual are well done by the developers, Domini, including the voiceovers. The three items to find in each scene are fairly easy especially with the sparkling on the side to let you know there is one, so no brainer there. Puzzles were well done. Storyline wasn’t bad. Like the little extras for example in the first scene if you touch the hens in the cage they come running out. Many items in each scene like this. Just adds to the fun… but… With 14 minutes of the 90-minute demo left I was already bored. As someone else mentioned the broken key and then there’s the broken bellows (again!!), broken well handle, barrette and hairpin both needed for different locks, need the boards with nails and a ‘heavy object’, need to saddle a house, etc. etc. etc. When it got to the broken ladder I was done. Just one tedious task after another. I have seen it over and over by this developer. Just not a buy for me, the pros did not out weigh the cons. Try it for yourself it might be your cup of brew.
Although I really like these types of games that are all HOS and includes puzzles below are some of the pros and cons I found while playing the demo. Pros 1. Nice graphics. 2. Within the HOS scene are sparking area to find items in the list. Although not displayed in a different color the area closes after all items are found and may sparkle again as new items are added to the list. 3. There are interactive items and hidden items. 4. In each scene there are several silhouette items to find. 5. In each HOS scene are a raccoon, puzzle piece and postage stamp to locate. 6. After completing the HOS scene, a tally is displayed if you earned all the different colored stars and if the 3 items noted above were found. 7. Menu option with a CE Contents section and includes 8 bonus puzzles and a Music Player with a selection of different background music to choose from. 8. At the top of the screen each scene is displayed with how many stars were earned. The scenes can be replayed at anytime. 9. Puzzles are the same as other games. Not a pro or con just an observation.
Cons – For the cost of a CE version the items below should have been included as optional settings. 1. There are no achievements to earn. 2. There is no option to set a time limit. 3. There is no option to set a clicking penalty. 4. It does not display until the end of the scene if you found the 3 items listed in item 5 above.
I do not think the CE version is worth the extra cost but I am still recommending the game as I think if you like this type of game you will enjoy it. I will wait for the standard version. Try it for yourself and decide. Happy New Year!
The story grabs you right from the start, so I knew within minutes it was a buy! The music goes well with the storyline and graphics add atmosphere with its creepy and macabre look and the voiceovers match the characters well. The tasks for the most part are not anything new but the puzzles and HOS more than make up for that. I enjoyed the interactive part of making dialog choices with the other characters. My one complaint is you cannot tell if you have found the collectibles (1 in each scene) and symbols (random) even from the map. The storyline reminds me of the 2016 game ‘Rite of Passage – Deck of Fates’ and the graphics reminded me of game from 2010 ‘Mystery of Mortlake Mansion’.
Based on the demo... The +'s 1. As usual with this developer the graphics are beautiful. 2. Nice holiday storyline with a moral. 3. Love Fluffy the dog and that cute tail wagging and his panting. Here comes the but with this developer... a. I have seen many of the puzzles used before by this developer. b. Items collected..in the first half hour I used a magnet to get something, a fork and a hairpin to open something, used a fan for smoke, ammonia to wake the conductor and a spade (shovel) to dig up snow. Nothing new or original here. I am not going to recommend this game but with that said please try it for yourself especially if you have young children or grandchildren to play it with, I can't help thinking you will enjoy it and make memories.
The game to me was boring and repetitive. You click all over randomly to find items that are hard to even see (even on a big computer screen). What challenge is there in that? Some of the storyline was cute but I was tired of playing this game after a very short period of time. In fairness I did not finish the demo as it was so monotonous and the color scheme was the same. This is the worst review I have ever given a game on BF after many, many years.
