Let's get farming in this unique Hidden Object farming simulator hybrid! Harvest the perfect crop, sell it at the market and search the farm for treasures!
I initially played the demo version on Bigfish's Online section. The game has a sense of humor; there's maybe 10 comedy HOGs as sediment in a sea of low fantasy & lite horror on Bigfish total & it could use more lols.
I had to score the difficulty really low, because if can find all of the object on a tiny Blackberry Playbook screen, then I could clear a room in seconds on a 23 inch monitor.
The previous Dark Parables games had lots of problems; the hidden objects were way too easy to find, they'd kept reusing the soundtrack from their first game over & over, the games were too short, the stories were like teen Disney fanfiction, it was too obvious what found objects went, the voice acting was terrible, the scripts were melodramatic, the animation was swimming through the Uncanny Valley (look it up), the hidden object scenes were too dark & required messing with the monitor or standing & leaning to see objects.
Yeah, so this game is a massive improvement in the series. Has a good sized mini hog in it too that ties to the story, which I though had a far more interesting story than Frog Prince or Snow white. I'll take a Tom & Huck style adventure over fairy tale royalty any day, though storywise, Briar Rose was pretty good; didn't try to shove the story down your throat with cutscenes.
I would recommend this game to anyone, but I only recommend the whople Dark Parables series to Disney or the Once Upon a Time TV series fans.
I recommend this game!

Yup, bought this one years & years ago. Think it's dubbed from Russian.
It's a classic, so don;t expect animated cutscenes, talking, or background music. It does however offer a vastly more interesting story than probably any other HOG I've tried.
If you're sick & tired of macabre mystery & fairy princesses, it's times to set sail for Pirateville.
This game is eyecandy, but that's really all it has going for it. It was like going through an interactive art portfolio; I wanted to see more & take in all the detail.
Visual & sound quality really should not be lumped together; What we have here is some Grade A art mixed in with some Grade F voice acting. The way the faces are animated is amateurish & evokes the Uncanny Valley.
While combining The Snow Queen & Snow White into one story is a cute idea, the story itself feels like it's talking down to me, like a child. Keep in mind that the primary target audience for these kinds of games is middle aged women, not babies.
This is one of the easiest HOGs I've ever played; I must have finished it in 8 hours.
Years ago, this was one of the first games I bought from Bigfish & IMO one of LastDayOfWork's better games.
Grow your little sims, have them marry or don't, have kids or don't, watch generations be born & die & go about their daily lives. Create your own story; it's never the exact same twice.
Fans of this game should also enjoy Plant Tycoon & My Tribe.
I recommend this game!

For you: If you are a masochist, are using 800 x 600 resolution, have 40-40 vision, or find that even the most challenging HOGs aren't challenging enough for you, this this is your game.
Lies: The game claims to be based off the books, then it fails to use the book series description of Dorothy: Little girl, blond hair, a white 1900s dress, a hat, & silver slippers.
The real deal breaker: Not only are the objects insanely minuscule, but the art is very blurry. In order to play this, you will have to put your screen resolution at its lowest.
You'll find no better story-based game on Facebook.

Aveyond would have been phenomenally popular back in the late 80s & early 90s. It's definitely up there with Zelda & Final Fantasy 1-6.
Aveyond's humble beginnings started with a freeware game called Ahriman's Prophecy, but it had a terrible interface & frustrating controls (but it was still worth it). Each game was considerably better than the last. Aveyond 3 was broken into 4 episodes & together make one exceptionally long game. When it was over, fans insisted that the developers make a 4th game, which is begin worked on now.
Aveyond 3 game saves can be transferred & loaded into other Aveyond 3 games, so all your inventory, party, & story choices pick up where you left off.
The order of the games is Aveyond: Lord of Twilight, Aveyond: Gates of Night, Aveyond: The Lost Orb, & Aveyond: The Darkfthrop Prophecy.
The characters are amazing & the story really grabs you. You can also make choices that effect the game in small ways. If there was a novelization of this book, I would absolutely read it.
These games were even good enough to get reviewed by gaming magazines that normally abstain from mentioning casual games. It's not terribly short either; it's one of the longest lasting games on this site (because it's half RPG, no doubt).
This is the only Match 3 I've tried with enemies trying to stop you that requires completely different strategies per different type of opponent.
This game is heavily inspired by Lord of the Rings & Dungeons & Dragons, so if you enjoy games like Aveyond & Match 3s, then this is right up your alley.
The storyline is refreshingly non-intelligence insulting & there's a reason behind everything that's done.
Like most casual games, the soundtrack is limited to only a few songs, but I never found myself turning the BGM off, it's quite pleasant actually.
This game has a sequel with no demo & it's toted as being even better. If you like this, just go ahead & buy the other.
This game is reminiscent of Gardenscapes, Hidden Expedition: Titanic, The Little Mermaid, & Spongebob Squarepants. It has your typical love-to-be-evil villain with his bumbling sidekick & the sense of humor is something only kids are going to laugh at, but the plot & novelty of it are enough to keep you going, basically a mansion converted into an orphanage (nevermind that those barely exist anymore) needs to stop looking like "the house the crazy slovenly hoarder lives in" needs to clean up or it gets torn down.
