I bought this game because I play all ND games, but this one is one of my least favorite. There are annoying task (getting sapphire, dancing as a cat, playing scopa) that seems unneccesary and takes too much of your game time. There are only few scenes you can visit on the game, usually just the front of a store or a bank. I like that there's Collin who gives interesting character in this game. Other than that, sadly not ND's best.
I don't recommend this game.

I bought this game after becoming a BFG game, so it's my first 'asylum' theme game. It was OK, the voice over is not bad. I find there's a lot of backtracking in this game, too much actually. I don't like the voice over of the small girl, sounds so snobbish. Characters seem lack personality. The puzzles are OK, not too difficult and the game length is fine. But I wasn't much too impressed with this game that I didn't buy the sequel (black heart).
I recommend this game!

I liked the creepy atmosphere in this game. It is really dark, and lots of spooky places to visit (abandoned buildings, dark churches, graveyard) that really fit the story. I had trouble passing through one scene when my game closes down by itself, but luckily it goes on. One thing that should be better is the sound, because it is almost completely like playing on a silent movie, no sound whatsoever from the game, from the characters. Even if there is, it is way to low. Almost can't hear anything. But overall, a neat game.

Bought this game immediately after it came out. I like the storyline, the graphics are wonderful and after playing it, it has a considerable amount of puzzles and length to it and I can say it is definitely worth buying!

At first I am not sure whether I should buy this game. I tried the demo but wasnt very impressive to me that I decided to wait until sale comes. Well, I was pretty wrong. Turns out this game has the most beautiful artwork ever, and the storyline is very interesting. I was awed by how great the storyline is from the beginning to the end of the game. Kind of keep me curious even though it has finished. Nice game!

Anything from the Play Pond is fantastic, including this one. I have never been to London but this game really shows the old side of the city, with lots of rains and fog. If you want to be like a real detective in the 1800s, this game truly delivers. The graphic is awesome, the puzzle is not difficult and the storyline is great. You visit many different kinds of places and scenes and they're all wonderfully drawn, super real life like. The witty Inspector, his comments sometimes sarcastic, but it makes me feel like we are not investigating the murder on our own, but feels like we are Watson and he is Holmes!
One thing I don't like on this game: the musical storyline on the cut out scenes. I dont think it's fits the storyline of a murderer. Maybe it fits the Phantom of the Opera-like games but not dark, creepy character story like Todd.
Well, this one aside, I love everything to it.
I recommend this game!

This game will keep you in your seat the whole time. I have both the SE and CE, basically because the SE hooked me so much I have to know the ending. Everything from graphic, story and puzzles are all mesmerizing and to me it's one of my most favorites games from BFG.
There're 3 levels in this game but I am a novice, so I always play the easy one. The game is rather creepy and as it is progressed, you'll feel like you're inside your own nightmare or spooky movie. I am so impressed with this game. Love everything in this game from the beginning to the bonus chapter, hahaha
Very well done!

Personally to me, this is my most favorite ERS games and in the PuppetShow series. The thing that I wish there is is the voice over. To me everything else in this game is perfect to the notch. I play this game over and over and to me it is a classic. I have owned all the games in the series thanks to this one. Play this game to know all the stories behind the PS series :)

I'm sorry that I have to disagree with some of the reviews here, this is my least favorite of all the PuppetShow games that I have. I am no fan of mechanical stuff (except the automatons in Syberia series!), they're not very much 'puppetry' to me. As always, there's someone you have to rescue and why is it always little kids? I found this a bit disturbing after playing all the three games in the series. I am getting rather bored with the interface (same fan like inventory feature) which cannot automatically open up until you click it, very frustrating if you need to try using the items to unlock/ fix something.
Overall, my least favorite of all the PS series. They're still great, but after awhile, I get tired of the same interface, over and over repeated.
