I bought the SE and then the CE during the sale and love both. The storyline is great and the map is really helpful. Great voice overs and manageable puzzles, they're not so difficult for a novice like me. The graphic of the game is great but the cut-scenes are a bit unstable. Sometimes it looks crisp, sometimes look like it is paste one upon the other layer. But overall it is an enjoyable game and I can't wait for the sequel.
I had high hopes for this game as I think based on the visual, sound and story, it is better than The Void. Less HOG on every scene unlike The Void, but I am now in the beginning of Chapter 5 and not sure whether I should continue.
First of all, it has good graphics with live actors and the story line sounds great, but this looks like MCF: Dire Grove with missing students, live actors, video, snowy scene, and it does not sound new to me.
What annoys me are these: - way too many backtracking: picking one item to go 5 scenes backward, use it, then go again 5 scenes back. - keeping an item that is to be used chapters away, and the way the item stored in the inventory is not based on the time when we pick them up, making it difficult to browse through the whole list. - music is too over the top, and hearing it over and over is annoying, so I have to turn off the music.
Although in terms of game length, this is better than the Void, unfortunately that is the only factor that is attractive to me about this game.
For totally HOG lovers, this game is for you! there are a lot of hog scenes here, almost in every scene and unfortunately they are basically junk. The graphic is nice, but not superb and I understand this is the first installment of Mystery Trackers series so I didn't expect too much from it. However it's fun and there's not much backtracking which is nice. I spent 2,5 hours to finish 6 chapters, only 2 left plus the bonus game if I refer to the strategy guide so I assume this game is short.
Bought this game from the CE sale and I'm quite satisfied with it. Although the storyline (someone abducted and put into mental hospital) is not somewhat original, the 7 deadly sins and demons that we have to conquer twists the plot and make it unique. The only problem with the game is that there is A LOT of backtracking and I don't think there is any map to put us through our desired scene and instead we have to click over and over. The beyond items are difficult to find and honestly I don't really know what they are for. The bonus chapter is interesting but not thorough, like who is the boy? there is very little explanation and I feel the extra ends just that.. the bonus chapter should have been better, IMHO. But overall this is a good game and everyone should try it.
Bought this from the CE sale last weekend, I am not disappointed. The graphic is great and the voice over sounds pro, there are a lot to do although I checked the strategy guide I am already in Chapter 3 while playing for about 1 hour. The storyline is not unusual, but it is twisted so it's kinda unique in a way. I would give this game a 5 star if only there is not many backtracking.. You go back and forth, back and forth, and although there is a map, you can't click on them to move from one location to the other. Once you acquire an item, you have to go back many scenes and then go forward again to find item and them go back again... And I notice there is a 2-3 seconds loading between scenes which takes it longer if you have to go backward 5 scenes, for example. But in short, I enjoy this game and I think you should give this one a try.
After using a secret alias to board the Titanic, things go terribly wrong and you find yourself trapped among the wreckage. In order to earn freedom from your watery tomb you must appease your captor by re-writing history and freeing the spirits trapped aboard the 'unsinkable' luxury liner as well as discover why fate has chosen this destiny for you.
I bought this game when it was released yesterday after 10 minutes demo. I was skeptical at first but yesterday the time was really right with the 100th anniversary. At first I was not so impressed with the idea of having evil spirit on the ship, the cursor moves very slowly and I don't think it's my computer, but the hint button also recharges slowly. What makes me bought this game is the unique storyline, that there probably is "life" after the tragedy, and it is presented uniquely, not like any other Titanic games previously released. In short, having bought this game using free coupon from the CE sales the other day, I can safely say that it's a good buy.
I was very impressed with Shiver: Vanishing Hitchhiker that I decided to buy this game without preview and so glad that it fills my expectation, the game is spooky, the music, the graphic, the atmosphere with great voice over and storyline, although I can say a bit predictable. The CE gives the solution at the extra story, which I think worth more of the price. One disappointment is probably the video at the very last looks kinda stiff and made differently with the video during the gameplay.. should have been made much better to end the game...
Another wonderful game from Alawar. The length is good, not short, not very long either. The storyline is brilliant although the figurine part is similar to 'Stray souls: Dollhouse', the ending is really unexpected. There is little backtracking except the last chapter which is okay, with creative puzzles and minigames. I really enjoy this game, and recommend this to buy.
Although from all the three, this is my least favorite, it is still a good game from Vogat.. My only issue is that the game has no very little to almost no sound at all, while the graphic is excellent. The HOG scenes are not junk but all the related stuff and not that difficult to find. Although the rest of the game looks great, the video scene however, is not that clear, looks blurry and not so well drawn. The length is rather short, only 4 chapters overall but luckily the storyline is interesting. I would recommend this game if you have extra credits/ coupons to spare.
I recommend this game!

Special Enquiry Detail: Engaged to Kill
Help detectives Turino and Lamote investigate the case of the brutal bride murderer.
I love the first installment of Special Enquiry Detail (SED), and when I see this, I pretty much decided to buy the game without the demo, as I also like Floodlight Games other series like Women's Murder Club and Agatha Christie. From the other series, this game is the closest to what detective really does the investigating, there are some clues to what we should do, but it seems like we do the game from first person as we investigate and find clues, it looks so real. The graphic, like many of the other series, is very crisp and clear and so realistic. I know that Floodlight Games series don't mind showing dead bodies and have 'us' examine them directly, but that what makes the game so unique (although a bit graphic). This is my second day and I'm still on Chapter 2, so I suppose this game should be quite long and really worths the money as I bought this with the spring sale. Really looking forward to play through this game and so glad that I bought it!!
