A game by Gunnar Games ---------------------------------
There are 4 levels of difficulties.
The story is not difficult to understand. I love Latin American setting and this is one of the best Latin American setting game out there.
The graphic is pretty nice, lots of colors. The HO and mini games are pretty easy, which I like. The map is quite useful, it tells you which place needs action, but there are some areas not mentioned in the map, so it can be rather confusing.
The VO is okay, but at times it looks.. fake and forced. I don't think the bonus content is worth the extra price. There's basically nothing special there. You can try the demo to see what is available. I think I will wait until the SE comes out, as the main game is all that matters.
I recommend this game!

Sable Maze: Forbidden Garden Collector's Edition
Your parents always told you to stay away from the mysterious maze behind their house…. and you’re about to find out why.
The fourth game of the Sable Maze series by Daily Magic ---------------------------------------------------------------------
There are 3 levels of difficulties.
The game is better than its previous game, have better graphic, but I think this game is not very memorable for me because it is slow moving. The storyline is not the most original, your loved one is kidnapped by an evil witch. There's nothing new.
Map is pretty useful, there are lots of mini games and not much HO, which is good because I don't really like HO which combines objects.
Bonus contents are the usual stuff from this game: achievements, concept art, wallpaper, music and developer diary, which I already stated in their previous game in the series, is unnecessary. I am sure there's nobody who's going to really watch each and every thing there.
Overall I am not much convinced, better than the previous but still I have to skip this one.
I was suprised and happy that Eipix made this game. They're famous for creating many great action adventure games. This time they take it to the next step: detailed investigation.
Although the story is not the most original, I am happy that we got to deduct, find evidence and play like a real detective.
There are 4 levels of difficulties. HO is various, not so difficult, or you can also play the bubble shooter game instead. Puzzle is not that hard either.
Nice VO and graphic, as usual. Map is also useful. Bonus contents are a lot.. the game is really worth its price. Definitely recommended.
I recommend this game!

Ominous Objects: Family Portrait Collector's Edition
A father returns home to find his children missing - all but one, who refuses to say a word...
A game by Daily Magic Productions ----------------------------------------------
Played the demo for 75 minutes.
There are 3 levels of difficulties. It started off pretty nice, although there is not much background story, we are like being thrown there without any reason.
The graphic is nice and the VO is OK, but I dislike grown up voicing children, sometimes it has not much expression. HO scenes are diverse and not the usual finding objects in list. Puzzles are not the most original, you have seen that before and warning: there are times where puzzles after puzzles are thrown together. Inventory items are usually used almost immediately so I didn't use the SG except to check my progress in the game.
Map is very basic, can transport but there are not much help as to where an action is available. Background music does not really engaging me to a fantasy adventure game. They are pretty silent so I was yawning the whole time, waiting for the demo to end.
Bonus contents are diverse, too, and the Developer's Diary caught my attention more, but there are 19 videos and I just had no time to see all. I guess 1 itself is enough.
In the end, A for efforts for the game developer, this is much better than their other series, hopefully it will get better if there's another game in the series.

Umm... this game turns out similar as some other detective games out there, but it is more focused on interviewing suspects rather than doing chores, which is good, but too bad it is not polished very well:
There are 3 levels of difficulties. You are partnered with another guy detective, who suddely tag along. There are many HO scenes but mostly are junk items so sometimes it's a bit difficult to find an item. Puzzles are suprisingly easy.
The map to my surprise is useful, can transport you to places although not in very detail. Although the graphic is pretty nice, it's a bit grainy and too bad there's no VO, too bad, as they have nice background music.
This game got me pretty much hooked when suddenly the screen changed and said that it's the end of the demo. So abrupt. I think I will buy this game when there's sale.

Beyond the Unknown: A Matter of Time Collector's Edition
It’s time to solve the secret of this mysterious island!
I give ERS "A" for its effort, you will see from their older games, this one is clearly an improvement in terms of gameplay and interface, but sadly I still prefer the older games' storyline. This is doesn't seem so original, help change your fate, being the only one who can do it. But the task doesn't come easy. You will come face to face with vampire looking ladies, look pretty much like the ones in Van Helsing story. I think they are pretty creepy.
HO are not many, puzzles are surprisingly easy. VO is fine, but I found some of them lack expression. There are some out of place inventories, that were not supposed to be there, logically. Map is not useful, although can transport, that's the only thing it can do. There is no sign or code of active action, etc. In this game you will also be given a small pet dog.
Bonus content, unfortunately has nothing much to offer. I kind of like this game creepiness but I dislike the story. Maybe if one day there's sale for the SE I might consider buying but not now.
Fourth game in the Secrets of the Dark series by Orneon -----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was surprised to see the rating this game gets, I own the first three and although they are not outstanding, they are pretty decent games, and I like the characteristic of this game of moving from ancient to modern times. Surely it's not that bad? So I decided to give this one a try (demo). After playing for 15 minutes I can understand the frustrations most players have.. the game is slow moving, no interaction, the VO is boring, and the loading is a slow, and transition of scenes are weird, in a way they are not natural but rather slow-moving. There is not much moving in between rooms, and to 'unblock' the 'evil doors', we need a robot kind of machinery which needs battery. I have no idea why the dev. even needs to put that machine, why not the regular lever or something simple? every time we have to unblock a door, we need to play a puzzle. Again, more time consuming. The bonus contents, cannot really say they're bonus, because except for concept art, wallpaper and bonus chapter, others are just achievements, collectibles, which I thought weren't even bonus. The story doesn't make much sense to me, the graphic seems distorted and it's slow paced game, so nothing really attracts me here, which is a pity since their first three games are pretty nice. I can fully understand now why it has such bad reviews and sadly I have to join in the force.
The expedition continues... Track down the fragments of King Solomon's crown and foil a madman's plot in this exciting follow-up to the bestselling series!
Ever since Eipix took over the series from BFG, the games have increased significantly in story and quality. The interface is also a one step further, and Eipix is one of those prolific game developers. I am glad they come up again with this one. It's truly one outstanding game.
This time you are to find the Crown of Solomon. The cinematic is really like scene from a movie, more like Indiana Jones to be precise.
I am glad that Eipix does not focus on HOPs but more to the good quality story. HOPs are just additional mini game. Puzzles are also of moderate variety. Nice graphics, very life-like, especially the scenery. Honestly I have never been to any of the country mentioned in this game, and I am glad that they show them beautifully. VO also very nice although some of them don't really fit the character, but it was not a big deal. Music also fits the scene. I feel like I am in Central Europe.
Many bonus contents, great addition to the CE game. Even without those extras, this game itself is already one great package all in itself. Definitely 5 stars.
The game sounds exciting with a rather creepy title, but I found the game to be shallow and the story underdeveloped.
I expect this game to be dark, but not quite. The story is slow progressing; we spent 1 chapter alone to find bandage to help the wounded driver. The characters are all live actors, making the game even less scary.
The map is pretty useful, the hint.. just there, the skip button drives me crazy.. I was on the easiest mode and I think it took 3 minutes for the skip button to recharge. It says "Quick" for the skip recharge, but no, it's not even quite.
Graphics is the only thing I can commend here, it looks realistic. But other than that, I don't see anything truly extraordinary in this game. Too many backtracking, with funny usage of inventory, like how come a trunk key of an incoming car inside the sink pipe in the motel? how is that possible? and why, after we have helped the driver, still want to wonder inside the house? what for?? VO is okay, but not remarkable. HOPs are consecutive combining objects, but the HOP only happens like a time machine. I am just glad it is not many cos it's annoying.
Bonus content is the usual stuff, not much for a CE. We collect money throughout the game which we can use to buy souvenirs, what.. postcard that we cannot even use interactive? what's the point??
I played until Chapter 1 and I am bored. Too much special effects, not much story development. Annoying, slow game. I will surely pass this one.
Your librarian friend wants your help as a journalist – he’s found an ancient book that is still unfinished. Can you save the world in the book before their story ends?
ERS games is back with another fairytale story. This time it's like being transported inside a book and met witches and warriors and white rabbit.
The only problem I have with this game is the long loading time per scene, especially on the beginning part of the game. The game story is actually not bad, but I dislike little creativity is used here, saving (a guy this time) from bad person who is hungry of power.
HOs are mostly finding objects in silhouette or combining them. Puzzles are of moderate variety. There are 4 levels of difficulties. VO is fine but some are a bit too much, although it's better than some games whose VO is expression-less. Graphic is usual ERS but sharper, but background music is recycled, I am pretty sure I have heard of that music before in one of their previous games.
Bonus contents are all the same, but in this game there's Workshop tab where you can see the people behind the ERS company, it's pretty neat to see the people who work behind many series, although honestly not all I like. You don't have to buy the CE to see it though, simply use the demo and check out the photos.
Overall a pretty neat game but I'd rather wait for the SE to come out and purchase.
