fromProtozoa are single-cell animals (microbes) In the ocean environment they have the role of primary consumers in the food chain. They are zooplankton.
I was so thrilled when I opened today's game and saw Sparkle 3 because I am such a huge fan of the marble shooter game with the similar title. This is not that. :(
It would be easier with a programmable PC gamepad. It's listed under Arcade but a bit slow to be that and more like a game you'd see in a science museum demo. YouTube has a video review for it and it’s called an Evolution SIM Indie game. I only made it 30 minutes into the demo before I got too frustrated just trying to locate anything other than water because I couldn't get the mini-map to stick on the screen.
This is another game that was initially dev to be used with a gamepad. To operate the little bugger on pc, you need to hold down the L mouse and scroll the mouse towards the edges of the screen to move the target icon. You will see a shadow bullseye and use that as your target to aim at because your bugger will swim wherever the target is placed.
The world you go through is enormous. I felt like I was searching the vast Atlantic Ocean with my finger held on the mouse the whole time and it hurts after a while. You can also use the keyboard arrows to move instead, but the target disappears. If you hit the pause button in-game you can click the gear icon and "apply the mini-map". I personally couldn't get it to actually apply and I'm sure it was highlighted/checked then "applied".
The little creatures reminded me of those microbes we learned about in high school. Remember these single celled little water buggers… Amoeba, Paramecium, Ciliates, & Sporozoans? There are some cool YouTube music videos that really reminded me of this game, with various microscopic water creatures put to calming music. It is a relaxing & beautiful world to watch. The beauty of these water creatures was a nice aspect of this game. It just needs a bit of work imo. My protozoa thing was swimming in empty blue water for what felt like forever and was thrilled just to find a bush in all that water, never mind the colored targeted elements I was in search for. I did end up finding and collecting 2 of them and some other pale blue items it let me collect. I did figure out how to get the thing to move around but I can't say it's an agile process. :/ I ended up hitting exit because I realized I just wasn't having fun. The graphics and the music were both nice. Dev by Forever Entertainment
My overall rating is more like 4.5 stars INTRO SCREEN 1 has: 1. Unlimited Mode 0/100…. Peace signs. Find them all to unlock it. 2. Sudoku & Mahjong 0/60….8 balls to collect to play these bonus games. 3. Modes: A) Easy/relaxed B) Medium/relaxed with mis-click penalty & C) Hard/timed
INTRO SCREEN 2 has: It shows the 12 World location scenes you will play. You can view & play these location scenes in any order (but not the locked CE locations.) I was able to play Egypt and it was way up the list! Thank you to the dev! You may want to take a second during the demo time to view all the scenes in the game. The extra (CE) locations: 1. Alaska 2. Turkey 3. Italy 4. Scotland 5. Cuba 6. India (I only saw these 6 in the demo but the game’s main page says this game has 14 additional locations to play… so I’m not sure on that.)
- This 2nd Intro screen also lists 0/60 FACTS found. - 0/100 Peace signs found (Total of 5 a location but you will be finding them only 1 at a time as you play the scene then and once per scene as you replay the same scene using different search methods. - 0/60 ❽balls -Total of 3 per location but you only find them once every time you play the scene.
ZOOM TAB: To the R of taskbar is a magnifier.
FACTS- Each of the locations has an educational paragraph about the location scene.
DID YOU KNOW ITEMS: Before you play a HOS you are shown a picture of some item, such as a chocolate bar. You need to find it in the scene and when you do, it gives you fun trivia about the item.
DIARY TAB- A diary holds the location FACTS in one spot, along with the “DID YOU KNOW” item facts.
GIFT TAB/GIFT SHOP: You collect game points as you play the HOS and spend them on 15 gift items. They are displayed on a shelf. I didn’t purchase any of the gifts during the demo. The best “Gift” purchasing items I’ve seen in casual gaming was in the game Twistingo, which showed purchase items as a small zoom zone of a moving GIF! In this game they appear to be more like the VA series.
HIDDEN OBJECT SCENES: Can be played in 5 different modes. There are 14 words per scene. They are:
1. ABC = Listed Items 2. ___bd = Missing Vowels 3. Cab = Scrambled Words (I hate these) 4. </> = Pairs 5. Star badge icon = Silhouettes (even better, they are Shadow Items) >>> BLUE TEXT ITEMS per scene: There are 2 per scene and they are tasks to perform, such as putting a cookie back with the rest of the cookies. These are my favorite type and I wish they had entire scenes of these instead of Scrambled Words.
SPARKLING AREAS: Each scene has 2 Zoom Zones that will sparkle when items are in them. They are sub-scenes of the main location scene.
MINI GAMES: You will play easy Mini-games, like Match 3, in between every HOS.
GRAPHICS- The graphics are perfect. Crystal clear scenes have cleverly hidden objects in plain sight!
The only 2 things I felt that could be improved were: 1. There is no movement within the scenes such as the game Big Adventure: Trip to Europe 2 & the Vacation Adventure series has down pat. 2. There is no Ambient/Environmental slider in “Options”. I don’t listen to the music in this kind of game. I prefer when there are calming environmental sounds instead, such as chirping birds, waves, waterfalls, & background sounds. In this game, if you shut off the music there is no sound other than the game effect sounds.
IF YOU LIKED THIS GAME maybe demo this one: Vacation Paradise: France CE. It has a lot of the same features. This beautiful game is developed by Point 8 Games and the replay value is endless.
This swap style M3. The features are the same as usual.
GENERAL THINGS: (The same from series to series it seems) - 2 modes Relaxed & timed - Rotating tile design bubbles you can pop to M3 easier. I really dislike this feature. - A VO narrates a story to moving still pictures upon entry of the game. In this one, the voice is really muffled by the music so you may want to turn the music off for that part. - Story proceeds every time you upgrade the build area. It’s done by clicking through conversational text. One conversation had 18 clicks but thankfully there is a skip button. I usually don't care for a really involved storyline (like I do in a HOPA) in an M3, and care more about building the scene using my M3 points. I especially love M3s that offer wallpapers & screensavers, but this one doesn't that I can see.
- BUILD AREA: The same format E-FunSoft usually uses. An aerial view of wizard-land scrolls with <<<panoramic view>>> to move the scene R & L. The upgrades are locked and you play the M3 boards to earn stars. When you get this many stars: 3*/11*/12*/16*, you get to upgrade 1 preselected section at a time of 4 locked upgrades that apply to the build scene. - Again, I wish the items in the land were larger so we could see them because there are some cute things in this one, like ghosties in a cemetery that float around. - Again, I thought the items are too expensive and wish they would let us upgrade every scene like the JM series does (you get to upgrade multiple times per board in those games.) - You will unlock 4 sections in a chapter before you move on to the next chapter. - This game has a total of 5 chapters. - 3 upgrade tools to unlock with gameplay & you are told to keep the small tools for the end of the level. The tools change every so often. - Same game sound effects of the dropping tiles (popping bubble sound) and - Same "brrrriiiinnnggg" sound at M5 & M6 combos. :/ I hate this sound at this point. - Collect several of one tile design, like 37 matches of a green hat, or apples. - The music is nice and fits the game but I thought it repeats too much. - Levels where you drop 4 "artifacts" to the bottom of the screen.
Like most M3s, you will match over double layered tiles, chains, webs (that don't spread, thankfully), beside boxes, etc. Every level gets more involved chipping away at double layer chains, etc. I liked: -Large M3 board fills your PC monitor. The tile designs are clear to see. - They change up the tile icons enough and they are easy to see to match. - This game is very responsive to fast matching (my favorite method.)
- New: This game and last one... "Stage Complete" is gone now! Instead the words, "Level Clear!" quietly announce the end of that board without a VO. This is a very nice change.
End result. I wish they would change the sound effects from series to series. The more I play casual games I find the sound effects are just as important as the graphics for me. If a game sound is repetitive and annoying, I won't buy the game. I like the music, sound effects, and M3 tiles to change in every game too. I also wish they would change the overall format to allow upgrades every level (or at least every 2.)
Again, I think this game will appear to new people to M3s. The players that own a game with this format may not be as quick to hit the "buy" button. Developed by E-FunSoft
This is a multiple hidden object kind of game. In my own notes I call this type of game a HOGO (Hidden Object Game Only) For the adventure lovers, this may not be your thing; not a HOPA because it doesn’t have the adventure aspect.
18 LOCATIONS- Each scene has a small bit of info. on the geographical location you are searching. Each of the 18 locations has 3 different tasks which are: 1. Listed finds: Find listed items (morphs & dogs too) 2. Misc.MG- Spot the difference MG scene, spin ring puzzles, M2 games etc. 3. Multiple of 1 object finds: A cluster of items are placed in a cartoon drawing, in some clever overall shape, to find multiples of several different listed items.
PLAY ANY LOCATION OUT OF ORDER: This demo allows you to click on any location to see the 3 scenes/tasks listed above, that you have as an option to play. LOVE when a dev takes the time to allow this option. GRAPHICS- 1920 x 1080 setting gives you HD quality graphics with stunning scenes and exceptional photography to spend your down-time in. If only the HOPAs would take a try at these graphics.
CE version has bonus chapters, 20 wallpapers, CE pups, 9 music, and my personal fav is the Developers Pups (each has a little informational blurb so we get to meet the game-maker's babies. Next time, it would be cool if you would have additional pictures with the owner with the dog/animal, with what your part in the game was, director, artist, etc… so we can see who made this awesome game.)
MY PUPS TAB- You collect game "adopt points" in this game to "unlock all the dogs". It's located on the game's main page. 28 dog outlines that you will fill in with your found dogs and put them into a scene.
BUTTERFLY ALBUM TAB: You look for 3 MORPHING butterflies in every scene go into an album. They are very tricky to find because this dev gets it. They slooowwwlllyyy morph from an item that should already be in scene into a butterfly.
HEART ICON: L of toolbar. Find 16 dogs in the scene that bark when you click on them. They all have different voices! This was the best feature in this game for me. My dogs enjoyed it too. haha
MAGNIFING GLASS- R side of toolbar helps you search for all the pups, and other listed items. There is a roll feature on the mouse to zoom closer.
SPARKLING AREA- Every scene has another 2ndary smaller window that opens. It's another mostly-full scene of an area within the main scene’s location (such as a backyard garden that belongs to the gorgeous cottage in the main scene.) This window has its own set of items to search for.
AMBIENT- ENVIRONMENTAL SOUNDS & MUSIC- This game has very nice music that fits the game well (mostly guitar). I personally prefer to listen to the ambient sounds like waterfalls & chirping birds and always turn the music down in this kind of game. Ambient sounds are also good in this game, but occasionally the sound would shut off altogether. When that happens all you can hear are the game effect sounds if the music is off (that is so minor and the only thing I found needs a change.)
I have 2 mini-bulldogs, 3 cats and over a lifetime any # of critters from a parrot, a ferret, you name it little animals, and a goldfish pond full of fish (turtles, frogs, etc.) I am a *huge* animal lover. I'm that lady on the block that saves the strays or any hurt animal/critter that finds itself in my backyard. My animals are the absolute joy of my existence. So for me.... these games by this dev are THE BEST!!! It literally made me happy just spending time in this world. HOGO for cats, dogs or critters, bring it. You make em' & I'll buy them. Thank you to everyone involved in making delightful game. I highly recommend the CE version. Developed by Tiny Little Lion
I only played a few levels of the demo. Maybe it gets better?
The super pedestrian graphics look like something a pre-schooler may enjoy. Most phone games have way more detail in 2022. This feels like a Free Play game. Maybe I'd play it as a Free Game app on my phone waiting somewhere. The concept of removing 2ea. patterns were good but I think the reviews before me are accurate. This game needs a lot of work; especially if it's going to succeed at a site like this. This game doesn't really translate well to a PC game and I'm surprised it is being offered at a PC price which is double that of the phone apps.
Lately, when a new game is released I play the demo first & draft a review if I’m going to do one, before I read the other reviews for the game. I don’t want to be persuaded either way and just want my level of enjoyably scale 1-5 for that game to be my honest, off the cuff opinion. Am I in a good mood when playing it? Or reviewing it? I’ve noticed my mood is a big factor on my rating and so is gaming burn-out. I took a year off casual games to play console games due to this. So ask yourself is it a HOPA you want to be playing now, a HOGO (Hidden Object Game Only-lol :), a TM or an M3. Because I’ve noticed I need to be in the mood to play/review one genre or another.
So when I played this game I actually swore when the demo ended because I wanted to keep playing it. To me, that says a lot. The first Polaroid that had the reactive ghostie pop in for a visit had me hooked. I absolutely adore the reactive items this dev puts in their games. I always feel like I’m on a treasure hunt. And I laugh like a kid finding an Easter egg in some cleverly hidden spot. I believe the game this dev gave us the most of these is 2017s Mystery Tales: The Hangman Returns. I completed that one and it has multiple reactive items in every scene the entire game. It was so much fun seeing how creative and involved they were. I've put it in my Favorite's link if you want to give it a demo.
I personally loved this demo and I bought it due to the sale today. I tend to like spookier, paranormal type games. I thought the storyline was clever in this one. A lot of the new games coming out don't focus on the story enough and seem to pay more attn: to mouth movements, who cares...would rather have a great & complete story. I liked the interactive HOPs with multiple zoom zones, a variety of text on the notes & articles. I liked the characters in this one, especially the main creepy girl who was beautiful. I really loved the pool scene in the demo. And who didn't love that awesome Jack Russell? If you liked this game, I think these are similar and you may want to demo: 1. Ominous Objects: Lumina Camera 2. Fear for Sale: Tiny Terrors I don’t want to see HOPAs die out. I get so happy when a new one is released here during this HOPA drought. I did feel bad for the level of critisim for this game but I feel this is why.... Frustration. The harsh criticism and low ratings are because the reviewers have been trying to guide this dev, for a long time, to help them make a few small changes that would help them sell more games. The review I wrote for Spirit Chronicles: Flowers of Hope CE that came out 7-1-22 is when I voiced my suggestions for the first time in hopes this dev would hear me too. I am only echoing, in that review, what the brunt of the other reviewers have been saying for a long time to help this dev. This game has low ratings, imo, *not* because it’s a bad game… but the fact the dev doesn’t seem to hear us. I forgot to add, logic. Most players like items to be found in logical spots. Mail in the mailbox kind of thing, not a high heeled shoe, a pack of gum & the neighbor's broken skateboard. lol
I liked the ghost camera in this game. I understand most people don’t like gadgets but I don’t mind them. The music in this game is fitting and one song is absolutely gorgeous. The sound effects and environmental effects, the graphics, game options, all great. Is the game pretty to be in? It bit too much aqua, but yes. Have they spent time to make it a quality game? Yes. Is it a good game for some new player that has never played one of these games before? Yes. Is this game also imperfect for most expert players? Yes. I truly hope this dev takes the criticism to dive in and make some fundamental changes with the format and CE content. I MISS the dev we lost already and don’t want to lose another. I hope this dev will read/consider my review for Spirit Chronicles: Flowers of Hope because I feel the same way about this game too. I still believe reviewers mean well, they are just harsh out of frustration for trying to help and they don't feel heard. Thank you to anyone who read this winded review. It's just my opinion. :) Peace.
This game is listed under Marble Popper but it is WAY more than that!
GRAPHICS & INTRO SCENE: Are just top notch. If only ALL the dev would do cutscenes like this. Real location scenes are utilized to show an aerial view of an island. The graphics in this game are the best I've seen. Quality here- all the way. Real photographed, 3D looking items are used in the Clutter game. The items you interact with are crystal clear.
You get a Bingo card with several numbers that are colored green, yellow, red & blue. Next a line of colored Bingo balls rolls by and you need to find your card's colored numbers. It gets progressively harder and spits out coins you need to collect quickly because I swear those buggers were vanishing, lol.
This is such a new spin on marble popper. I mean, who doesn't love Bingo! This dev was thinking outside the box with this one and I loved it.
Coins: In game currency is earned playing different types of gameplay, such as the Bingo-ball, Clutter/Match2 (to collect the bingo balls), Hidden Object scenes (find multiple items.) The you get to use the coins to purchase 6 items in the game at, 750, 1250, 1850, 3490, 79001 & 17500 coins.
>>>The demo allows you to purchase the first item. What a treat! A zoom zone appears with a GIF of your gift! It was imaginary and fun.
Mixo, it's so hard in real life to gain coins that it would be awsome to have *more* items to buy in the next game. Please make us casual game rich. I think it would really perfect this game, because those purchase items are SO FUN to get!
I'm not that into the CE content. The informational game blurb says the CE has a screensaver. I couldn't see where one would be set but if I'm mistaken I will buy this CE. I notice it does have pretty scenes with inspirational text but I assumed were wallpapers in the CE bonus content; so until I get clarification on that I will wait for the SE to purchase this. Credits list these names Attila Mikolics & Katalin Dobor, so I want to tell them what a job well done! The TLC you put into this game really shines. Developed by Mixo Games.
I own a few games already by this dev and they all tend to be a lot alike. Same sounds, same mechanics, those popping bubble tiles.... I really dislike those bubble tiles at this point because they're on every single board.
2 modes: Relaxed & timed A VO narrates the story to moving still pictures about a night watchman (magic man Stan), who works at a museum. It gets vandalized and a time portal opens. The voiceover doesn’t have much inflection in his voice and sounds a bit robotic (again.) From there, the story goes south for me. It becomes more M3 generic with the ancient baddies he is dealing with. The story proceeds without the VO and you click through conversational text. The story advances with the upgrades you apply.
You get the usual amount of power ups so hold onto the small tools to get through the level end, like the other games they make. You play M3 boards to earn stars to upgrade the vandalized museum room and its broken objects. I really disliked the upgrade items as well as the room itself in this game. The items are **way** too expensive and you can only upgrade about once every 3 M3 boards. The JM M3 that was just offered lets you upgrade every level. Considering how expensive everything else is in life… I wish the dev would throw us a bone & make us M3 rich for once!
**Mild spoiler about an upgrade item**: Somewhere before level 8 you get a dead lion pelt and his paws are bound with rope. ***End spoiler*** I understand this is just a game but I am a huge animal lover; apparently I love casual game animals too.
Also around level 8 the game gets more & more multi-layered blockages to chip through to get through the level. (+) The M3 boards are full screen with clear tiles. The graphics are clear but cartoonish. (+) The music was excellent in this game and they changed it often enough. I actually let the music run the entire demo (well done to the composer.) Many of the game effect sounds are the same though, including that annoying “Briiiinnnnggg” sound (M5 in this one.) with the general play dropping tiles sound. I wish they would change the game effect sounds from series to series at least.
I do really appreciate they ended the VO that says “Stage complete.” And now it quietly displays, “Level clear!” Baby steps......
My favorite M3s by e-FunSoft are Amanda's Magic Book 3 The Spirit World, and a 2017 game called The Voice From Heaven.
This is as good as it gets. This developer always tries to make each of their releases just a little different then the last so all of their games have some new thing to look forward to.
Large M3 boards cover your entire PC monitor with crystal clear graphics & crystal clear M3 tiles. This version of JM seems to be all crystalized multi-colored pieces. They move slightly within the square and you have the option to shut off the movement with the "static" selection. I did notice if the pieces were moving they appeared even clearer.
I barely made a dent in the demo. This is a long game and a lot for your money; not to mention quality! They don't skimp ever. This M3 actually has ambient sounds of running water if you don't want to listen to the music & game effect sounds.
One of my favorite things about this dev is the absolutely outstanding build areas you get to create with your M3 currency. And my other favorite thing is the wallpapers. I get so pumped waiting to see what the next wallpaper will be once it's revealed because they are unlocked with gameplay.
MULTIPLE CASTLES: This game has more than one castle to complete and then you even get to deco. the interior rooms and add moving items to those! Wow. Now THIS is how its done.
IN CASE YOU GET STUCK: I like to fast match in relaxed mode and this game can still get tricky so if you get stuck just hit the next board's arrow & move on to another room because sometimes you will need to do another board in that level first or maybe you will need a special hammer or tool that must be purchased at the in-game store first.
I haven't played a Jewel Match game I don't like. My favorites in this series are the JM Twilight and JM Naturescapes. I demo'd & bought JM Origins 1 Palais Imperial at the same time as this, as well as JM Aquascapes (wow) and recommend those just as highly.
The only problem I have with this perfect game is that I can't rate it higher than 5 stars.
I wish this dev would take a chance at making a new Ancient Egyptian themed M3 like Cradle of Egypt...I can dream... This outstanding game is by Suricate Software and the replay value is timeless. Thank you for another excellent job (to everyone that helped create it (as always!)
I just played the demo to both versions back to back. This game was completely revamped and not just a copy of the orig. The graphics are much clearer and the MG & HOS have all been redone. So if you already own the old game and can’t play it on a new PC, than I think you will benefit from this new version. If only a dev would remake the Reincarnation series… or bring another game with a similar storyline.
CE content: It has character free wallpapers (so bonus there!) You collect 2 items in this game. 2 ea. in scene: morphing fairies and goblin tiles. It has an in-game walkthrough guide. It has a “developer’s journal” tab which is before & after pictures of the original game to this one. It has a reward for collecting the 66 goblin cards called Goblinjong. Play 24 of them when you’ve finished the game. It has a bonus chapter.
Negatives: - I didn't see a map - CE content is not great. - Only 1 mode of gameplay. I like a fast skip and missed custom mode (only once in the demo.) - The music is pretty but it plays & plays. When you turn it down there are no other environmental sounds. I prefer when games have both. In this case all you can hear are the game effect sounds when you shut off the song. - The colored orb puzzle was more fun in the original game. Games made around 2011 used to use memory MG a lot and I love those. The orig. orb puzzle had you remember the colors of 5-6 orbs blinking. But this remake was to swap the colors and it was easier. - No cutscenes or replay of cutscenes to refresh the story.
General: (+) collect 2 morphing fairies. (+) collect 2 goblin tiles per scene. (+) The crown icon (L of toolbar) shows how many collectibles are left in the scene. - Clear but cartoonish graphics are way improved from the original but I think the graphics for an SE only game I loved here called Eventide 2 Sorcerer’s Mirror would have made this game feel more expensive.
(+) No glints. I never use glints but in case you usually like those, be sure to scroll the scene for items you may need before leaving the scene. - This game seems to have less hidden object scenes from the orig. I like HOS better than MG and wished it had more. (+) If you click on the profile name (after re-entering the game), it holds game stats. How long you played, the percentage, & what room you left off in. Loved how they named the rooms as you came & went from a scene.
- It has a zoom/magnifier: On the R corner of taskbar next to fairy. I think some ppl will like that feature. - Note: They let you flip through this entire walkthrough guide (smart) if you want to peek at the upcoming chapters to see if this game is for you.
(+) I noticed the same people that directed the first game did this one too and you can feel the love that went into redoing this pretty game.
Positives: (+) Diary for both story & MG: It has a great diary that you use to solve puzzles. This dev was ingenious (trying to cater to all of us) by giving us a “pin” option to float the answer next to the puzzle like a sticky note. The best thing about this, don't pin the answer if you want to use your brain & the diary notes only to solve the MG. Yay! Love, loved that!
(+) The remake of the first HOS I played were interactive and *way* better than the original. (+) They kept the same beautiful character for the princess/main character. * most of my positives are in with 'general' :)
This game would have really benefited from environmental sounds, a faster skip and better CE content (such as a screensaver or a developer’s video diary.)
It’s made by Boomzap Inc. and I think they did a beautiful job remaking this fairytale.
