I'm SO glad I discovered this game. I play it almost every day. It's so much fun to challenge myself to be patient and not use the power ups so I can collect the points to buy more resources. I've been patient enough now to buy an add on to each of the buildings....a sawmill, farm, quarry and gold mine.
I read some of the negative reviews and it's NOT as they said. You CAN get gold but you HAVE to upgrade your WAREHOUSE. Each time you upgrade it, the amount of resources you collect goes up one point. I didn't discover this until I'd played the levels about 4 or 5 times. And, someone wrote that you can't get to the store to buy power ups or add ons until you finish the game.....yes you can....anytime. You just click on the menu button and then the basket in the lower right-hand corner. That takes you right to the store.
Don't be swayed by the negative reviews. This IS a fun game. You may need to play it a few times to get everything figured out. Once you do, it's SO much fun and challenging. I just love this game. I think it's right up there with "Gardens Inc", "My Kingdom For a Princes", all of the "Northern Tale" games and any other of the many time management games I have....this one is just as good in my book.
I'm very glad I bought this game on sale! The several reasons I didn't like the game.
1. No interactive map. 2. The graphics were not that good. 3. If you are in a hidden object scene and click on the strategy guide, it starts over and you have to find everything again. 4. The HO's are VERY small and often hidden in dark areas. 5. If you bring up the Strategy Guide in anything...HO, puzzle, whatever, it starts over and you lose anything you've done.
I'm sure there are more that I can't remember right now because I'm so TIRED from playing this game. I'm just glad it's over and sorry I bought it.
Play it at your own risk....I know it has a lot of very high ratings, so you may like it. I did not!!!

I was SO excited when I saw there was this sequel to "Gardens Inc. 2: The Road to Fame Platinum Edition". This one does not disappoint. It has new challenges with new things to conquer and get rid of, build, etc.....like wasps, a dock to send out to get the resource you need....rock, wood, seeds or tools. The ONLY thing I see so far that I don't like as much in this one is that things are harder to see for some reason. Things seem smaller and closer together.....I find myself squinting at times (no, it's NOT my eyes...grin).
I've played the second one MANY times and had to get used to the levels and what is best to do next, which direction to take and so on.....this one is going to be the same....playing it over and over again to learn how to best meet the challenges. It's going to be a VERY fun game to play on these upcoming cold winter days and nights. Well worth the price....GREAT GAME!!!!
I was surprised that this game was so much fun. I expected to try it out and delete it like many other time management games I've tried....but NO....it's fun! It doesn't have the graphic quality that Northern Tales or some others have, but it's cute. The main thing I like about it is that it makes me THINK. I have to decide if I need to demolish a gas station to build a burger joint because I need more food or if I need to build a house for more money or if....well, you get the idea. Then as you get to higher levels, you build a hospital, a helicopter port and so on to rescue the people from water and other situations. It's a cute fun game. I like games that I know I will come back to and play over and over again. This one fits the bill.
I recommend this game!

Fun game but different meanings of objects at times
I like playing this game BUT, you have to play it a few times to see that some things are NOT what "we" call them. For instance, while frantically searching for a harmonica, I had to click on Hint.....come to find out it was a HARP....no mistaking it here. The tall kind that sits on the floor. In what country do they call that a harp? There's several others that I can't remember....that's the one I just had problems with a few minutes ago. Otherwise, this is a fun game, good storyline, great graphics. I do wish they had created better furnishings to choose from though. I had no choice but to pick ugly green rugs, very bright blue ones or hot pink. I would NEVER chose any of those.....if you make a sequel guys, please make prettier furnishings. I would buy a sequel.
I think I really like this game. The graphics are great, fun level great....all about it is great. But WHY do they say we have 90 minutes on the trial and it's up in less than 30? I don't get that. I'd rather them go back to saying 60 minutes and GIVE 60 minutes. Not sure I'll buy it just because of that. Don't try and fool me!! I may still buy it, but I'll wait for a sale. Less than 30 minutes is not enough for me to see if I like the whole game.
I would have given this game at least a fighting chance even after reading the negative reviews, but that didn't work. The bad reviewers are right. When you open a window with a task, there are NO directions as to what is needed there.....like "I need to find the key" or something. Not there. I kept looking at one window where the fountain froze over when you clicked it....okay, so what is needed here? Nothing gives even a hint. After opening several windows like that, I clicked "Exit" and deleted the game. I won't be considering a purchase with this one in any way.
This Viking Saga game is one of the beginning games to Northern Tale game series. I have all of those and play them often. I found this one by accident and recognized the little vikings from the NT games.
This one is a bit different in the story line and how you do things, but BOY is it challenging ( as all of these are ) and you really have to think here. You need to calculate which building you need AND, unlike the others NT games, you need to know when to demolish a building when you no longer need it....then build a different one in its place.
Example: In the other NT games, the druid hut stays in place but, in this one, you need to demolish it after you've gotten the "goods" and build a mill, sawmill, farm or whatever you need next. It's fun figuring that out....if the viking says "you don't have enough food!", then you might need to build you a farm or mill next....and so on.
I also like the story line in all of these games. I don't usually listen or read the stories with these types of games but soon found out, if I didn't with these, I'd miss part of what was coming up and what to do.
If you like a challenge, like to think and like to have lots of fun playing a strategy game, this one is for you ( and the other Viking and Northern Tale games ). You'll feel SO proud of yourself after you've figured things out and completed a level.....and you'll look forward to the next level. There's always something new around the corner with these. Nothing boring about them at all....music is cute too.
There is lots more I could say here, but just try them out for yourself. You definitely won't be disappointed. OH, and get ready to get a bit addicted to them. I have.
I bought both II and III of this game when there was a 2 for 1 sale and OHHHH do they play SOOO slow. I would never pay full price. After buying and playing all of the Northern Tale games, Kingdom Chronicles CE and a couple of My Kingdom for the Princess, this one pales in comparison. You can't multitask workers so you have to wait until one is through, there is no time meter above fruit trees to know when one will be full again, there is no way to know where to go when it says "the path is blocked"..........SO many things about this one and Roads of Rome III. You'd think they'd have improved it....not so. It's just as slow and gets very boring when you have to wait so long to get something done.
I got this when there was a good sale on games. I like it but it's NO way near Northern Tale or Kingdom Chronicles and games like that....My Kingdom For The Princess is one also. It's okay to pass some time but they could really do some improvements on this one. If they make a IV sequel, then need to make it so you can chain tasks and NOT have to wait until there is a free worker. They should also make it clear if "the path is blocked", where it's blocked from.....a line, highlight or something. I haven't gotten too far so I don't know yet if there are awards.....like "2 for the price of one" and so on. All in all, it an okay game but I wouldn't have paid full price for it.
