When the entire audience disappears from a film screening at an old theater, you must go behind the scenes to find out who is running the mysterious Nightmare Cinema.
Indeed it was! 3 hrs. 45 mins. appox. to finish it all BUT what a deal since I got it on 4/13 when I could buy another CE and get this one for $1.99 !! In my book it was a steal !
Wonderful game for adults and kids alike but my grandkids love this game and can play it by themselves now that they can read. They've played it so many times I would GLADLY purchase another or a game like this one to give us something new to keep them interested in hidden obj./adventure games. they especially love making the potions and can now read a recipe. C'mon... we need a sequel !!
SO glad I got the CE and didn't wait for the SE. Since I'm getting in late on a review I will state that I am not one who wants CEs for the collectibles, achievements, morphing objects, wallpapers, etc. I want the added play time and for the bonus chapter to be worthy of the price. Ship of Bones is very well worth it as the bonus chapter takes you to about 12 areas where you actually help the ship of bones go back to where it belongs. EXCELLENT !!! Love the whole game!
For me this game was the most fun and the most challenging. I love the newer elements to the current games where you meet all sorts of creatures that you either have to do a favor for or interact with in some way. Love my helpers in this game... even the one I had to pay to get his help. ha There was a jump map with task lists at each location. Sometimes it was a long time before you could complete tasks at that location and there were always more than a couple to complete so you had to keep going back there to accomplish them. I thought the game was over at one point but there was still much to do to save the day. LOVED it.. the length was great... so worth the money.
Starting off by saying my husband was reading the credits and he's come to the conclusion the game was made in a foreign country...maybe Russia from the spelling of their names and there was even a credit for a translator. So maybe this is an explanation for that. THAT being said THIS game is fabulous !!! I don't buy CEs for the extras like wallpapers. I only buy CEs if the bonus chapter has great reviews and I'm adding my recommendation to buy the CE if you like long extra gameplay. I think I remember that there were 12 new places to visit on the map during the bonus and it was every bit as good as the regular game. The whole game was long and FUN ! Especially liked the fact the the HOs weren't your normal interative ones... sometimes you had to leave the HO to go out and find that one last thing to complete the interaction. Superb game and well worth the money !!!!!
What a breath of fresh air and a lucky find on this one. LOVE all the dialogue as I love Victorian murder mysteries. All the excellent reviews have described how you go along to solve the mystery.. with you doing all the work, of course. The map isn't transportable but with each new "chapter" come a new map which isn't that large to back track. Love puzzles that aren't too difficult and so I can get on with the investigation and these fit my needs perfectly. IMO it's better than the first Brink ! Loved every minute and want to see MORE of this detective who needs my help to solve other murders! BRAVO
wow wow wow ... what a GREAT game!! For once the fractured hidden objects were "visible" to me and the game went on and on and on !! Super game and I'm now going to check out another Blue Tea game ! (Blue Tea may be my rival to Elephant) LOVED it!
I recommend this game!

Unfinished Tales: Illicit Love
After the Raven Queen crashes her wedding, Thumbelina must save her prince to reclaim her happy ending!
When I see an Elephant game I jump on it. I wasn't that impressed with the trial but it had such great reviews I thought I was missing something special. As it turned out the items I collected didn't make a lot of sense when it came time to use them... i.e. the soap dish. I never would have thought to use it where I had to. And when I KNEW where an item went I had to place it "just so" or it would be rejected only for the hint to tell me exactly when I had just tried. After playing the Nutcracker this game was sooo below Elephant standards to me. Obviously others loved it. Well, I'm off to try Detective Quest the Crystal Slipper !
Played the demo not expecting much and was totally awed and enchanted in the first 15 minutes. Anyone thinking this is a "girly" game couldn't be more wrong. Sat with my 13 yo grandson while he played the full game (which he never does in one weekend because he tires of them) and the exclamations of "AWESOME" erupted when he encountered the rock monster, fire breathing dragon, etc. while he kept clicking on them to make them animate in their menacing way. Picking up the helpers who were cute and humorous are always loved in this household. The main game has a totally satisfactory ending with the bonus game taking a new tact with the story of the cats and wolves. Elephant does it again !!!!!!
Played 50 minutes of the demo and exited. I was hopeful after reading the other reviews that my granddaughters would enjoy this game (being 9 and 10 yr olds) but just discovered Fiction Fixers Oz which will be much more FUN .. yes, the fun factor just isn't here, in my opinion. Your children might enjoy it so give it a try.
