BASED ON THE FIRST 4 CHAPTERS - 6 CHAPTERS PLUS A BONUS CHAPTER
Can we change destiny and Fate? Auntie Luisa Gray returns in a sequel, going back in time in order to alter the past, attempting to save her niece Jackie’s parents. Will she succeed? Or does Fate have some surprises for our Auntie Gray? I LOVE this game series featuring the affection between Auntie Gray and her niece Jackie! This is a fairly well-done mystery sequel, and is consistent with the series. The graphics are colorful. There are more puzzles than HOP scenes, but both are well executed. The HOP scenes are varied with some multi-step ones. The HOP scenes consist of silhouette, story sequence, list of items to locate, and replacement of items back into scenes. After four chapters, I found very few HOP scenes.
I found most of the puzzles to be easy; however, I did find a couple which were a little more challenging. The puzzles are varied with variations of maze puzzles, matching puzzles, manual dexterity puzzles, moving tiles/lock puzzles, mechanical puzzles and mathematical puzzles. There is one multi-step puzzle in this game. My favorite was a puzzle in which you must place all items back into a cabinet with no remaining spaces. There are morphing objects throughout the game and they are not easy to see. You also collect portraits of the Gray family as well.
After the demo, the next chapter has only two HOP scenes and six mini-games. The mini-games are a little more difficult than in the demo. The fatalistic theme continues throughout this chapter as well. I did not see any significant changes between the demo and the actual game.
LEVELS: Casual, Advanced, Hardcore, Custom Hints 15 to 90 seconds Skips 15 to 90 seconds
EXTRAS:
Map - Map is provided as you play the game 18 Achievements Collect 16 portraits of the Gray family. Morphing objects: The amount of morphing objects is not disclosed in the demo Strategy guide - 43 pages Usual wallpaper, artwork, screensavers, music

Next, you receive two items to place on boxes opening up two lists of items to locate
MINI-GAMES: A. Variation of a maze puzzle which is reminiscent of the Battle-ship game. Move an airplane from the top to the bottom uncovering one square at a time until you reach the bottom. As you uncover each square you will encounter traps which will send you back to the beginning. Try to reach the finish line within the allotted amount of moves given. EASY B. Variation of a matching puzzle. Compare a photo of the killer with the actual killer looking for four similarities between the photo and the person himself. EASY C. Variation of a matching puzzle. Variation of a mathematical puzzle. Calculate the amount of spaces needed and in which direction to aid a crane arm to remove four boxes. MODERATELY DIFFICULT F. Multi-step puzzle. First a variation of matching. Find matching objects and remove them from a scene in a car garage. You must remove them in a specific order and nothing must be holding them in place so they cannot be removed. Second. Take the remaining objects form the scene and put them into a cabinet so that no item is left and every space is covered in the cabinet. EASY AFTER THE DEMO: G. Variation of a mechanical puzzle. So awesome! Repair a screw gun/drill by following a schematic. EASY H. Variation of a matching puzzle. Rearrange petals of flowers on a cabinet so they are all the same color. EASY I. Variation of a manual dexterity puzzle. Trace symbols to remove dark energy. EASY J. Variation of a moving tiles puzzle. A combination of a HOP scenes and puzzle. Locate items in a storybook scene and replace them back into the scene in the correct locations. EASY L. Variation of a mathematical/pipe puzzle. Move pipes in order to uncover numbers which must be pressed in order. EASY/MODERATELY DIFFICULT

Oh, Happy Day! Our “penguino” has returned with another Griddler (AKA O’Ekaki, Paint-by-Numbers, Pic-a-Pix, Nonograms or whatever you call them) puzzle game. After a lengthy absence from this site, I, for one, am glad to see him return with another fantastic griddler puzzle game! It is “timely” for me because I ran out these games to play some time ago. A BIG THANK you to BFG for a game in one of my favorite genres. This one is also from my favorite dev for this type of game, Match Games.
HOW TO PLAY: This is variety of a Sudoku puzzle. In this puzzle, create pictures by filling in squares in a grid. The grids in this game will vary in number from 5 x 5 to 20 x 20 if it is like the games of the past. Each side of the grid will have numbers for each line of squares indicating the amount of squares which are to be filled in for each line of squares. Squares are filled in where the squares intersect between the two sets of numbers on each side.
• Levels: Casual and Advanced. The advanced screen begins with a 10 x 10 grid. The casual version will begin with a simplistic 5 x 5 grid and have a tutorial as well. • Colors: The game has three (3) colored screens • Autofill: There is autofill so you do not have to fill in the unused boxes. • Hints: Hints are given as you proceed and are based on the difficulty of the puzzle and how well you perform in solving the grid • Number of Levels and Griddlers: There are approximately 100 griddlers - 20 levels with 5 griddlers for each level. The puzzle grids become larger and more difficult as you proceed in the game. • Aids: You will receive aids in the game such as a pickaxe. • Awards: You will receive gold, silver and bronze trophies based on the amount of mistakes you make. If you make too many mistakes, you must restart the puzzle • Garden: As you complete a level you will receive an item to place in your “garden.”
An excellent colorful griddler game! This dev produces the best griddler of all the devs who produce these games for BFG. I highly recommend this game if you like Sudoku games or any type of mathematical games.

You are off to visit your old college friend, Ashley, a “radio superstar,” being stalked by “shadows” from the past. Being an investigator of the supernatural, you are there to “rush” to her defense and “shine the light of truth” on what is lurking behind those shadows. I like (not love) this game. I do like the puzzle-like aspect of the game which includes some mini-puzzles in both the inventory and HOP scenes. There is an equal amount of HOP scenes and mini-puzzles. The graphics and the VO’s are decent.
Most of the HOP scenes require sequential steps in locating items and the demo includes both silhouette and lists of items to locate. There are also mini-HOP scenes in search of a small number of one item. The mini-games are varied and include variations of jigsaw puzzles, sliding tiles puzzles, and in at least one instance you must locate and replace items back into the scenes (which is more like a HOP scene than a mini-game.)
Déjà vu? Didn’t BFG just offer a game similar to this? The game format is reminiscent of a previous game using a lantern to get rid of shadows. In this case, to use the lantern, you must untangle lines so that the lines do not intersect each other. By carrying all the lanterns in these games, maybe I can aspire to become the Town Crier at a historical village. I will await its presence as an SE. To me, it is a decent game but lacking the quality of a CE.
LEVELS: Casual, Advanced, Hard, Custom Hints 1 to 100 seconds Skips 1 to 100 random clicking in the game
EXTRAS: Map - Map is provided as you play the game 16 Achievements Collect 10 scene silhouettes to provide a story of the town Receive a crystal to help get rid of the shadows. Every time you need to remove shadows, you must untangle lines so that none cross each other. Strategy guide Usual wallpaper, artwork, screensavers. Replay of 12 HOP scenes and 12 mini-games
HERE ARE THE DETAILS (SPOILERS) FOR THOSE WANT MORE INFORMATION ON THE HOP SCENES AND MINI-PUZZLES
HOP SCENES: A. List of items to locate. There is a mini-puzzle within this HOP scene. Place bottles in order to create two pictures. Interactive and puzzle-like B. Mini-HOP scenes. Locate and replace 10 stars into a lantern C. List of items to locate. Again, it is interactive and puzzle-like. Actions must be completed sequentially D. Silhouette. Locate a specific number of items in silhouette. Using arrows, the HOP scene expands to include more scenery in which to search for items
MINI-GAMES: A. Untangle lines so that no line crosses another line. You will do the same puzzle every time you need to use the lantern to get rid of shadows. EASY B. Variation of a jig saw puzzle. Using arrows – move puzzle pieces so they interconnect to create an emblem MODERATELY DIFFICULT C. Use switches to connect wires to fuses. EASY D. Variation of a sliding tiles puzzle. Rotate colored tiles so that they create a pattern according to a schematic. MODERATELY DIFFICULT E. Locate and replace figures, placing them into their correct locations EASY

As a photographer, get ready to “expose” some family secrets at a less than “picture” perfect wedding of Frank and Carol. With the mysterious death of Carol’s mother, her father’s sudden illness, her sister Martha’s jealousy and a ghostly presence in the house – you will find a family album of secrets being exposed as you finish up some family portraits. Set in the era of the 1950’s, the story line is a Jessica Fletcher (“Murder She Wrote”) type mystery.
The story is the best part of the game. It has a good whodunit theme which keeps you guessing. There are more HOP scenes than puzzles. There are a variety of them including matching, sentences, and silhouette. They are the best part of the game, somewhat creative and innovative in design. The puzzles are very easy and include variations of a slider puzzle, a mathematical puzzle, and developing a photo. I felt the graphics were lacking. They are one-dimensional and there are no VO’s. There is NO locking inventory. Extras include a camera to take photos (it blinks when you need to take a photo), 20 achievements, 30 haunted objects, and 16 hidden photos
Sorry, but this review is only based on the demo. There was nothing in the demo to incite me to purchase this lackluster game. It does not have the creative, innovative HOP scenes and puzzles nor the graphics of a 5-star CE game. I also got tired of taking all the photos required in this game. At times, I found the game “jerky” in movement. I became bored playing this game. Since I am preparing to leave on a much anticipated trip, I don’t have time for another game.
There is a nice sale today on CE games and it is well worth the discounted price. This game will appeal to some on this site. If you like the reruns of “Murder She Wrote” television show or love photography, this game may appeal to you. I almost expected Angela Lansbury to be in this game along with a Cabot Cove background. If you purchase this game – Enjoy!
LEVELS: Easy, Medium, Hard, Custom Hints - 15 to 95 seconds. Skips - 15 to 95 seconds
INVENTORY: It is interactive and puzzle-like
GRAPHICS: I was not impressed with the graphics. No VO's for the characters. This is a must for CE games. The graphics are one-dimensional and stick-like. The game is very jerky in movement.
EXTRAS: Map is provided at the beginning of the game You receive a camera to take photos - It lights up when you are to take a photo of a scene 20 Achievements - It was difficult to count them Collect 30 haunted objects 16 hidden photos to add to your attic gallery Replay 10 HOP scenes and 10 mini-games Usual art, music, wallpaper Strategy guide
HERE ARE THE DETAILS (SPOILERS) FOR THOSE WANT MORE INFO ON THE MINI-GAMES AND HOP SCENES:
HOP SCENES: A. List of items to locate. Interactive and somewhat puzzle-like B. Sentences with items highlighted in BOLD letters in photos. C. Matching - Find pairs of related items D. Silhouette items to locate E. Looking through a keyhole find items which are in silhouette followed by sentences with items to be located highlighted in green
MINI-GAMES: A. Variation of a slider puzzle. Move tiles into their correct locations by color and symbol. EASY B. Develop a photo EASY C. Going back to algebra class - a Mathematical puzzle - find values for 3 letters to open a lock EASY
I recommend this game!

You can “bet your life” you are going to have to make some soul wrenching choices in this game as you traverse back and forth in time to correct the past to free tormented souls. I have been awaiting this game and I LOVE this game. The story is excellent. In the demo there are only 3 HOP scenes and 3 puzzles. The HOP scenes I played are nicely crafted, varied with a mini-HOP scene and two which are sentences with cryptic clues to the identity of the object to be located. You can also opt to play a matching game in lieu of the HOP scenes. The puzzles in the demo are easy with varieties of a mathematical puzzle, matching puzzle, and gears puzzle. There are 16 achievements (from what I could count) and skulls to collect,
AFTER THE DEMO: The demo ends in a cliffhanger with a voice of the creepy girl similar to that from the girl in Maze: Subject 360. You will soon discover that you will be entering the lives of many other tormented souls in this game and turning back time to replay events in their lives. I found the HOP scenes to be similar to those in the demo with many more mini-HOP scenes with the collection of fewer items. The puzzles are more difficult after the demo and in at least one you have the choice between Hard and Casual modes. The puzzles include a matching game, another mathematical puzzle and a sliding tiles puzzle. The game seems a decent length and I only got half way through Chapter 3.
There is not a ghost’s chance I would miss playing this stellar game from a dev who has “resurrected” itself from the realm of forgettable, nondescript games and has reentered the heavenly realm of one of the top devs on BFG! ERS is back with a vengeance! I have restored them into my own list of favorite devs.
LEVELS: Casual, Advanced, Hard, Custom Hints 10 to 50 seconds Skips 10 to 50 seconds. This is a different system of adjusting hints and skips. By decreasing the time for one of these – you increase the time for the other. Bizarre!
GRAPHICS: Creepy, spooky, dark and ominous which you would expect in a game dealing with life and death.
EXTRAS: Map is given to you at the start of the game 16 Achievements from what I could count Collect skulls to purchase items for your gravesites. There are many of them as well. The pop out at you all over the place. Strategy guide - 54 pages Usual wallpaper, artwork, screensavers Replay 21 HOP scenes and 13 Mini-games
HERE ARE THE DETAILS (SPOILERS) FOR THOSE WANT MORE INFORMATION ON THE HOP SCENES AND MINI-PUZZLES
HOP SCENES: You can play a matching game instead A. Mini-HOP scene. Collect 9 rungs to construct a ladder. B. Sentence with cryptic clues to items displayed in BOLD letters. This sequence also furthers the story of the game. C. Sentence with cryptic clues to items displayed in BOLD letters. This sequence also furthers the story of the game. AFTER THE DEMO: - Many Mini-HOP scenes. D. Mini-HOP scene. Collect 12 scarabs E. Mini-HOP scene. Collect 11 bones F. Mini-HOP scene. Collect 12 lanterns G. Mini-HOP scene. Find 12 pairs of items.
PUZZLES: A. Variation of a mathematical puzzle. Calculate the birth and death for an occupant of a gravestone. EASY B. Variation of matching. Combine several symbols on a wall to match up with several on a rope to descend from a train station. 3 X EASY C. Variation of a gears puzzle. Move gears to open a lock. Moving one affects the movement of the others. EASY AFTER THE DEMO: D. Variation of a matching puzzle. Play a matching card game with a creepy little girl. EASY E. Variation of a mathematical puzzle. Here’s my cheer - Ah! Man! Rah! The Sphinx is shining down on me today with an enigmatic game with puzzle after puzzle. I LOVE this game! This is a mini-adventure game chock full of puzzles. There are NO HOP scenes – only puzzles! The ones I played in the demo vary in difficulty from easy to moderately difficult. This is puzzle maniac’s dream game. You literally solve one puzzle after another. The setting is somewhat like the game “Luxur.” You have different locations designated on the map to which you must travel to complete the game.
A BIG THANK YOU to BFG for providing this game for the minority of us who love puzzles. This game is not for everyone. If you are a “puzzlemeister”, like “moi,” you will love it. If you hate puzzles – you will definitely hate this game. This company tries to provide games which appeal to about everyone’s tastes.
GRAPHCS: They are old school and were slightly fuzzy on my computer. The “muzac” has an Egyptian flavor. The guys will probably enjoy the eye candy provided by the “hottie” Egyptian lotus blossom.
LEVELS: There are NO levels of difficulty. However, if you have trouble with the puzzles – you can skip the puzzle. There are also no times allotted to skip a puzzle.
MAP: You will be guided in your quest throughout Egypt. As you complete one level, the map will indicate to you where to go next.
GUIDE: You are provided a strategy guide with this game.
PUZZLES: There are a variety of sliding tiles, moving tiles, mathematical puzzles, sequential, weight and balance puzzles. I only played the demo and this is what I encountered:
THE FOLLOWING ARE DETAILS (AKA SPOILERS) ABOUT THE PUZZLES ENCOUNTERED IN THE DEMO:
A. Variation of a sliding tiles game. Move numbered balls into correct position to open a lock. B. Variation of a matching game. Match up boats by color and design. C. Variation of a sequential puzzle. Find the correct sequence to turn on lights. D. Variation of a sequential puzzle. Step on correct rungs to avoid being eaten by a rascally crocodile E. Variation of a weights and balances puzzle. Balance a scale with equal weights on both sides. F. Variation of a moving tiles puzzle. Slide tiles to create a picture. G. Variation of a mathematical puzzle. Count the squares in a figure. H. Variation of a moving tiles puzzle. Move colored marbles to match up with the correct colored slots. I. Variation of a moving tiles game. Move tiles and rotate them to create a picture.

After witnessing your friend Jason shot by a nefarious crime syndicate, the Shadows, you, as Natalie, are off to continue his work in stopping the Shadows from stealing a priceless Templar relic, The Blue Veil. This is a mutant – the splicing of a HOP game with an adventure game. The story is excellent. The mini-games are well-crafted with a variety of different styles and difficulties (6 puzzles in the demo). There is an equal number of HOP scenes (5 in in the demo). One “puzzle” is actually a combination of six mini-HOP scenes.
The HOP scenes are redundant –all of them are lists of items to locate. However, they are interactive with some puzzle-like aspects. You have the option to play Mahjong instead. I also found the graphics old school. The VO actors have heavy British accents and at times there are mouth movements by the characters and other times, not. I have a great interest in the history of the Knights Templar and love great puzzles, so this game is a must for me! This would have been an outstanding game if the dev had provided a little more creativity in the development of the HOP scenes.
I beta tested this game about eight months ago. It has been in production for about a year. This game does not have all the bells and whistles of the HOP CE’s. There is no “wow” factor in this game. You collect nothing, you achieve nothing (except the thrill of solving the mystery) and there are no morphing objects or any other gimmicks. It is a pure adventure game with the added twist of HOP scenes. We have a strange new creation here. The stodgy Nancy Drew mystery game entering the world of the HOP scene! Wow! With the discounted prices on games this weekend, it is worth the small investment to purchase a game which will prove to be quite an adventure!
AFTER THE DEMO: The game continues as before. It is definitely puzzle-heavy and HOP lite. It also appears to be a short game as well. There is an awesome “nonogram” puzzle in the Chapter 3. There are also a maze puzzle and a variation of a checkers puzzle. The HOP scenes I encountered were again all interactive lists of items.
LEVELS: Casual, Advanced, Hardcore, Custom. Hints and Skips - 15 to 100 seconds
GRAPHICS: Old school graphics. The VO actors have heavy British accents. Sometimes there is mouth movement for the characters and other times not.
HOP SCENES: There are 5 HOP scenes in the demo. All are the same – lists of items to locate. They are somewhat interactive and have some puzzle-like qualities. You may opt to play a Mahjong game instead. All of them are the same with the exception of one which is considered a puzzle; however, I see it as a series of mini-HOP scenes. AFTER THE DEMO: HOP scenes are again all interactive, puzzle-like lists of items.
MINI-GAMES: There is a variety of difficulty levels and varieties for the puzzles. They include variations of moving tiles puzzles, sliding tiles puzzles, sequential puzzles, Simon Says, and mathematical puzzle. AFTER THE DEMO: Variation of a nonogram puzzle, maze puzzle, checkers puzzle.
EXTRAS:
Map is given to you at the start of the game Strategy guide - 37 pages Usual wallpaper, artwork, music
HERE ARE THE DETAILS (SPOILERS) FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE MINI-GAMES:
A. Variation of a moving tiles puzzle Move tiles so that ends of circuits in a key card match up EASY B. Variation of a sliding tiles puzzle. Move 3 tiles to match a code to open a box. Slightly tricky – Moving one tile affects the others. MEDIUM DIFFICULTY C. Variation of a sequential puzzle. Light up lights in sequence from first to last by following a twisted mess of wire connections to the proper switch D. A variation of Simon Says puzzle. Follow directions to create a library card. EASY E. A variation of a storybook sequence. Locate 5 items of the same type item in a series of 6 scenes. This is listed as a puzzle; however, I consider it more a HOP scene. Find out more about the Knights Templar F. A variation of a mathematical puzzle. Connect nodes with each other to match the amount of connections with the number listed on each node. MEDIUM DIFFICULTY G. Variation of sliding tiles puzzle. Transfer crystals so they match up with their color coded slots. However, the crystals revolve around three wheels to add to the difficulty. MEDIUM DIFFICULTY. AFTER THE DEMO: H. YEAH! A NONOGRAM PUZZLE!!!! SO HAPPY. I LOVE THESE! I. A variation of a maze puzzle. Get the Templar to his banner in the center of the maze. J. Variation of a checkers puzzle. Using gold coins, try to eliminate your opponent’s silver coins from the board.

BASED ON THE FIRST 3 CHAPTERS OF 5 CHAPTERS PLUS A BONUS CHAPTER – A PUZZLER’S DELIGHT!
Hoping to restore the magic to Rocksville, you play Little Orphan “Annie-belle” to the rescue of her “believed deceased” father and the kingdom as well. Based on the series, “Midnight Castle,” this game is puzzle-intense (with an awesome 7- step super puzzle toward the end of the demo) and HOP light. The puzzles are amazingly well-done, varying in style and difficulty. The puzzles are the best part of the game coupled with beautiful, dark, cartoon-like graphics. Trying to fight off an evil hooded villain, you must venture to not only Midnight Castle, but other locations as well for a final showdown with the villain.
The graphics are beautiful. The game is well-crafted. I cannot wait to sink my teeth into the amazing amount of puzzles in this game and creative HOP scenes. There is a “cutesy” googly eyed bat, which is an unwanted distraction. However, that “adorable” bat (makes me want to eat him up with my vampire teeth) is used sparingly and flies to the task at amazing speeds (an up and coming Super Sonar Bat?) I hope this bat doesn’t “cross” my path too many times in this game, because if he “crosses” me, I have a “cross” to compel him to return to the other bats in the belfry.
AFTER THE DEMO: A secret is revealed in which you discover that only you can save the magic for the kingdom. There are awesome puzzles in Chapter 3, one of which is a chess puzzle, which is a little nerve racking. There are also fewer HOP scenes in Chapter 3 but very innovative.
HOP SCENES: The demo only included 3 HOP scenes: silhouette, matching pairs, and a story sequence with sentences containing items to be located in BOLD LETTERS. I especially loved the first scene in which you open up drawers in a cabinet to locate items. AFTER THE DEMO: There were only 3 more HOP scenes; however, they are very creative including one using a bow and arrow.
MINI-GAMES. The best part of the game. There are variety of them in various levels of difficulty. They include variations of matching puzzles, moving tiles puzzles, switch puzzles, weights and balance puzzles, sliding tiles puzzles. There is a SUPER PUZZLE containing 7 different puzzles in the demo! This dev outdid themselves in this puzzle sequence. LEVELS: Casual, Advanced, Hardcore, Custom Hints 15 to 90 seconds Skips 15 to 90 seconds

Like the wind, you, as a queen, are off to save both your loving husband, King Ash, and your kingdom from turning into crystal. You are swept up in a whirlwind of treachery from an unexpected source and soon you will need to rise above the treachery to save your two united kingdoms. I LOVE this game! There is an “airy” feel to this game. Beautiful fairytale graphics with a wisp of Nordic imagery are combined with a love story between a beautiful queen and her handsome, loving king.
The HOP scenes are creative (I especially loved the one involved in locating butterflies which are flittering throughout the demo). The puzzles vary in difficulty and some are a trifle difficult. You also get hints in playing some of the mini-games. There are an even number of mini-games and HOP scenes. You have the option to replay 12 HOP scenes. The graphics are well-crafted as well. This is a beautifully illustrated love story. To assist you in your quest, you receive a Ring of Fire from your husband to help combat evil. As you traverse through the game, you will receive 5 relics. I am now getting ready to board the flying ship in the game, floating high above the clouds to finish this lofty game!
AFTER THE DEMO – CHAPTER 3: I felt the puzzles were very well constructed and some were different from the demo. They included two manual dexterity puzzles one of which is fiendish! Some of the puzzles are more difficult than in the demo. You also have another maze map puzzle, which I feel will continue throughout the game and continue in difficulty. There are also two sliding tiles puzzles in this chapter. The two HOP scenes were a list of items to locate plus a rather unique one – matching symbols to remove the item from the list.
LEVELS: Seeker, Adventurer, Trailblazer, Custom Hints 15 to 90 seconds Skips 15 to 90 seconds.
HOP SCENES: Very creative. You collect butterflies in several scenes throughout the demo using a tiger lily flower. There are lists of items to locate, replacement of items back into the scenes of a storybook, and a mini-HOP scene.
MINI-GAMES: To me, the best part of the demo. They vary in difficulty. There are variations of a Simon Says puzzle, sliding tiles puzzle, matching puzzle, maze puzzle. Some of the mini-games contain 3 puzzles increasing in difficulty. In some of the puzzles you receive hints.
GRAPHICS: To me, breathtaking and beautiful, reflecting an “airy” fairy tale atmosphere.

This ring makes you impervious to fire 18 Achievements – divided into 3 categories – Expert, Advanced, and Casual Collect 40 Treasure items 11 Morphing objects Replay 12 HOP scenes after completing the game Color Connect puzzle after completing the game Strategy guide Usual wallpaper, music, artwork,

BASED ON THE FIRST 3 CHAPTERS OF THE ACTUAL GAME – 5 CHAPTERS PLUS A BONUS CHAPTER
Rock on down to Stoneville as a detective for The League of Light. Your assignment is to locate a lost artifact, a gauntlet along with its purported thief, Louise, the daughter of the head of the organization. I LOVE this well-crafted game. This game has an excellent storyline and beautiful graphics with realistic characters. The puzzles are moderately difficult (I did not find any extremely easy nor brain crushing) and very well done. There is an equal amount of mini-games and HOP scenes in the game. You also have the option to choose between three choices for a narrator – a male voice, a female voice, or none at all. The female voice sounds like “Nancy Drew.” LOL It will be a bad day at Black Rock once you discover its secret!
After the demo, the last half of chapter 2 plus chapter 3 continue to pose more questions concerning the relationship between Louise and her father. What secrets are behind these members of the League of Light? The HOP scenes and mini-games continue their excellence into the game.
HOP SCENES: They are interactive, puzzle-like and well-crafted. There is one which is multi-step. It was my favorite from the demo. You must open and close cabinet doors to locate the list of items. They include lists of items, silhouette. Some are mini-HOP scenes (FROGS) to locate and create inventory items. After the demo the HOP scenes are similar. I encountered more interactive silhouette HOP scenes and more mini-HOP scenes in which to create inventory items.
MINI-GAMES: To me, the best part of the game. They are varied in difficulty and creative. There is one multi-step puzzle in the demo. They include varieties of matching puzzles, moving tile puzzles, sliding tile puzzles, maze puzzles, and some mathematical logic puzzles. After the demo the mini-games continue their excellence. There is a manual dexterity puzzle, an awesome moving tiles puzzle, a Simon Says puzzle and a matching puzzle. There is a wide range of unique puzzles ranging in difficulty from easy to difficult.
INVENTORY: Interactive and puzzle-like
GRAPHICS: Beautifully illustrated with muted colors and realistic characters. Excellent voiceovers. You have the option to play either have a male or female narrator or no voice at all. And is that the voice of Lani Manelli, the previous Nancy Drew as the feminine voice?
LEVELS: Casual, Experienced, Masterful, Custom. Hints and Skips 1 to 90 seconds You also have the ability to choose a male voice, a female voice, or none at all. Nice addition to this game.
EXTRAS: Map – Receive the map as you play the game 9 Achievements Collect 7 statues of League of Light characters from the game Collect 26 Owls Strategy guide – 56 pages Usual wallpaper, music, artwork,
