Honestly, with a 15-minute play preview, my expectations were already low, but this one doesn't even qualify for a fun 'time waster' match game. A sad offering to say the least

This game is a major hard pass for me. The game exceptionally glitchy, storyline did not capture my interest or attention from the get-go. The graphics are old school and the HOP are confusing and frustrating. As always, though, maybe play through the trial before making your call on this one, but I wouldn't recommend this one.
This must be a re-release as I tried to download the game and it came back with the times up screen. Tried un-instaling and reloading that way - same result. I'm just putting this out here for your IT depet in the event that the game is buggy

I love a good challenge as much as anyone else... but this went a bit beyond the pale here The lag time between scenes was annoyingly long, once in a scene you are given absolutely no direction as to what you are to do in the scene and even hints could be vague at the best of times. That being said I will commend this game for its stunning artwork and design, but it really needs more...meat to qualify as a CE. I saw nothing in the demo version that would or should have given it that distinction. I might purchase it as a RE, but certainly not worth being a CE.
I'm always up for a great puzzle game, especially if it's a good challenge and offers something engaging to keep the game going.
This game...was none of the above. It's just a 'slider' style game with a hint of Minesweeper sprinkled in. I honestly quit and uninstalled it after playing no more than five minutes (if that long). I cannot, in good conscience, even suggest this as a time-waster game.
Gameplay was dull, lackluster, unengaging, and just pretty much out and out boring.
Call this a hard pass and hope something else swims up that's more worthwhile.
Based solely on playing only part of the demo. This is certainly an old-school HOP but you are given no guidance or direction on your objectives. And, while the 3D graphics are lovely they are very simplistic based on what is seen in similar style games. This might be good for someone new to HOP's but this is certainly not something I can recommend for a seasoned player or someone who wants a solid storyline to follow. This one gets a hard pass for me.
Again, a game comes out that shows promise from the promotions and the idea behind the storyline...but sadly, I felt this one was lacking in a good many departments. The voice acting is poor at best and sorely indistinct. Many of the scenes I played through just left me confused and wondering what the heck I needed to be doing...I spent most of the trial finding myself clicking the hint button because I had no direction. I was disheartened at the graphics quality for a new game. Sadly, I only found this game frustrating and without clear direction. Sorry I can't recommend this one.
Sadly, this isn't really much of a match 3 game. You spend most of your time reading the dialogue bars, answering characters' questions, and having to wait through scene breaks that were, I felt, overly long. The sound effects used in some of the match 3 games were...jarring, to say the least, with some having SFX like firecrackers going off. You get bogged down in the story and some insanely formatted hidden objects that were at the very borderline of being off-screen. Slow, plodding and, not overall engaging at all. It's a hard pass on this one.
Firstly I have to say that I was ecstatic when I saw there was going to be another MCF game, and, honestly, I was not at all disappointed with this new installment! Granted, the game was much...lighter in mood and theme than most MCF games of the past, but it was a vast improvement from some of the later titles of the Ravenhearst saga (let's be honest now, EVERYTHING ties back to Ravenhearst!). Additionally, it was not entirely as challenging as other games in the series, but this has left so much room for improvement and advancement of the much-loved storyline. The graphics and sound quality were exceptional and visually stunning. The story moved along at a good pace and you never felt 'rushed' to get through any given scene. As a humble opinion this, by far, superseded Sacred Grove as a follow up to the Dire Grove installment of the series, as well as making fitting back-references to other games in the MCF series harkening back to the original Ravenherst.
I eagerly await the next installment of the series with Grandma Studios at the helm. I do hope the future installments bring back some of the truly chilling and dark feel of early MCF games. If you are a fan of the original MCF games then I cannot recommend this game enough!
Suspend your disbelief, and visit Darkmoor, dip into the mythology of Celtic legend and see if you can resist the call...

Ah, the play of this game harkens back to the very beginning of the Ravenhearst saga! While the game style and quality certainly do not compare to the later installments, it's a return to the classic style of the HOG and I really love that it revisits the former storylines.timelines of the original Ravenhearst games. A very classic hidden object game with the puzzle locks to unlock specific rooms. If you are a fan of the ORIGINAL Ravenhearst (Escape from Ravenhearst and Return to Ravenhearst) you will really appreciate the style of this game. A very good redemption for Eipix Entertainment, in my opinion. If (and when *hint, hint!*) they release another in the Ravenhearst saga, I really hope they continue in the vein of this game. The ONLY thing I found...slightly bothersome is the rendering of classic characters from the Ravenhearst story, a bit more refinement of the animation of Victor, Charlotte and others from the storyline was all a bit...cartoony and caricature-like for my taste. BUT!!! All in all a very good game and well worth the investment if you are a fan of the original and classic style of the first Ravenhearst games.
