Our treasure seeking heroes have returned. This time Nell has to find Tom who has gone off in search of the Philosophers' Stone.
The graphics for this game like the first are lovely. The storyline is good but not central to the game, and the music is okay. Pleasant but not instrusive.
Again the HOs are the circle type, but the devs have added other tasks to complete. Some items are small, but they are not squinting small. The puzzles are fairly easy. Everything is doable. I like that the devs have expanded on the original game by adding different types of game play.
The game is not overly challenging, but it is a fun little game. It is however short. Makes for a nice filler.
Was looking forward to a good ghost story. Once again you must save the child and the town from an unknown evil which in this case has to do with the town's beloved cats. However...
The graphics really threw me. One minute they were quite lovely, and the next they seemed very amatuerish. The same with the cutscenes. It was like you had 2 completely different groups working on this; and then, they just threw the whole thing together. Made it seem very unfinished. I found it to be quite off-putting.
This is an HO/Adventure game, but is mostly HO. The HOs were bright, but a little murky. They were just straight HO, and I think I visited every one at least twice. The puzzles were very standard fair and offered very little challenge. The Adventure tasks were pretty basic-keys, build a ladder, make some glue, etc. There was also quite a bit of backtracking.
Because of the graphics, I have to question whether the game can hold up to a CE so I will pass. I'll take another look when the SE comes out; therefore, I can't recommend this game.
Meet Nell and Tom, treasure hunters extraordinaire, on the hunt for pirate Grandma's hidden treasure.
The graphics in this game are lovely, however, no cutscenes, no voice overs and basically no music. Another thing it isn't widescreen so items can be small and hard to see.
This is a straight circle HO which means you find specific picture items to complete the circle and unlock other circles or scenes. Finding the circles can be a bit trying. The HOs can be challenging as many of the items are somewhat small or partially hidden. Items can, also, be hidden in other items so you need to constantly keep moving your cursor. There are puzzle/minigames which are not overly difficult but are fun.
I first played this game as a beginner, and it does teach you patience if you don't want to use the hint button. All items can be found and all the puzzles are doable. I fell this is a good game for beginners, but other levels can enjoy as well.
Although I don't really care for straight HOGs, I gave this an overall 4 star rating because I do still enjoy playing it occasionally.
When I played the CE, I just didn't care for the game but felt I should try again.
The intro is very good as are the graphics. I thought the music was very good as well not intrusive. Felt the voice overs were very poorly done.
The HOs were the typical messy junkpile with some interactive play. Not terribly hard. Puzzles were fairly easy not special. There is a lot of backtracking between locations.
This game just didn't interest me. It was for me one that would just fill time rather than entertain and enjoy.
This game offers a bit of a change from the usual HO/Adventure game. The graphic are very nice, the music good, no voice overs, no map but a good level of play.
The HOs vary from the standard junkpile (most not to messy) to silhouettes to identical items to moving items around. Made for some interesting play. The puzzles were also very good and ranged from fair to somewhat challenging. The puzzles required inventory items to complete which again made for some interesting play.
The game was a little short but was enjoyable. A little more of the faceless monster would have added to the storyline, but overall a pretty good game.
Just finished the demo and definitely enjoyed the play. This one is better than the first so if you enjoyed that you will enjoy this as well.
The graphics are terrific, the voice overs good (although a few accents were "odd" for Paris), the cutscenes were great, the storyline similar to the first (save the child and town), and the music good as well. The HOs are messy junkpiles, maybe a little dark, but they were good with some interaction and some items that are harder to find. The puzzles in the demo were fairly easy but hopefully get a little harder as the game goes on. There is no map but was not really necessary. There are 3 levels which I feel is always a plus. The notebook was helpful, but the game is easily playable without it.
The play was fairly straight forward. During the demo you only have to backtrack once to a previous section of scenes. So I would assume once you open a new section of scenes, you are done with the previous sections.
I'm not quite sure how to rate this one. I have the first game and enjoyed it, so I was expecting something similar but better. It is quite different. Somehow light rather than dark storywise. You are sent to a paranormal school to see what has happened to the teacher and her young students.
The graphics are nice, clear and bright, for a place that was destroyed by fire. I thought the cutscenes were really good, grainy and dark. The voice overs are pretty good as well. The music was awful (seemed cheerful to me), I finally turned it off. It has 2 modes of play, and there are 5 chapters plus the bonus.
The HOs were the standard junkpile with some interaction, but they were bright and crisp for the most part. In some HOs you replace the items. The puzzles were rather easy but not bad. There are 33 postcards to collect. You also get the abilities of those you save and you collect achievements. The devs seemed to want to appeal to everyone with a little of this and a little of that. Even with all that I would consider this game an HO with some adventure.
The play was good, although it seemed a little...incomplete. There were a lot of scenes visited at least 10 which seems like a lot, but maybe that's because there wasn't a lot to do in each.
I did finish the demo in about 35 minutes so for me the length isn't worth the CE price. I may buy the SE when it is available.
I am recommending the game because it was fairly interesting play, but this is only based on the demo.
Thought this would be a great game for the kids, but the game was absolutely stupid. I quit after 12 minutes only because I had to wait for the idiot narrator to stop talking.
So here's what I can tell you.
The graphics are pitifully cartoonish. You have a dog that barks, but a mole (yes a mole) that talks. You have a narrator that won't shut up and a hint button that makes no sense.
In the short time I played, I built a "ladder" to get to a hook. The rest of the time was spent listening to the dog, the mole, the mole's wife, and the narrator. I doubt that it improves, but good luck to those of you that try it.
Sorry, but this game is not worth it at any price.
This game has nice graphics, a fair storyline, and interesting play. It offers a different angle on HOs in that you are giving a group of picture items that you must find and place within each chapter. There were also some interesting puzzles; however, you were given the solution to most in the notebook.
I don't think the game offered a lot of challenge since I finished in less than my average time. However, it was rather fun to play. I do think it is one of those games that you will either enjoy it or not.
Another one of those rainy day games.
I recommend this game!

Time Dreamer: Temporal Betrayal
After joining a research team you are sent out to mine valuable krawtite. Along the way, however, something goes horribly wrong!
I felt this game offered a lot of promise and interesting storyline, but if the demo is any indication it is just boring. I thought the graphics were very good, the cutscenes were also very good, and as I said the storyline looked to be interesting. No voice overs. At least to me, the intro implied that it was more adventure than HO, but definitely not the case.
During the demo, you jump several times without getting any sense of where the story was going. It seemed all you did was play HOs which were fairly easy junkpiles. There were some puzzles but again easy, and nothing new or varied. Most of time you spent running around looking for one item only to find out you now need something else to complete the task or talking to someone. Some of which had really nothing to do with the story like who was suppose to be doing what job. Really?
Waste of some great graphics and a good storyline.
