There is just no excuse for coding a terrible match 3 game. At this point in time match 3's can practically run like movies. The stories from the old testament are not children's tales, you can find tales that are translatable for children in the new testament but the old testament is for deep, thoughtful stories that adults grapple with to this day. The story is presented in a clumsy, stilted way. It is very much as if the game were designed to be stolid and serious because the topic is religious. No topic needs to be badly presented and no fun to play. Dreary.
I loved this game. I really wanted this game. There are a lot of games I can solve, but this is one of the rare ones where I think like the game. The next step comes naturally to me and there is scarcely a hesitation in the play except for one thing. I cannot see things.
It is so dark I can never make out the bottom of the screen . I found myself squinting to try and explore a scene not a hidden object scene, just a room. For me, that was a deal breaker. This is a game where you need to listen to the dialogue but also notice things you don't interact with. That will be handy when you want to choose a path as well as when you discover things.
Were I you I would play the demo and if you can see the game snap it up. I do recommend the game aside from this..
I recommend this game!

I didn't want to stop playing.
There was a rhythm to the game play. If people found it easy to find all the items in a HOG I admire them. I had to use the hint button several times. I agree with the reviewers who said you need to give it enough time not quit before twenty minutes. When a group of people work so hard on something -- it deserves a genuine, open minded viewing
This game cannot be compared to a big shop production. I felt there were references that other people in a different culture understood but that went over my head. I found it fascinating and challenging but, most of all, calming.
It is not the bells and whistles that make a good game. They make an impressive and gorgeous game. it is some combination of elements that no one understands. No team sets out to make a bad game. If any game company knew that magic formula they would never put out an ordinary game again. If movie makers understood what makes a movie a hit they would produce them by the dozen. A beautiful game is pleasant but a game that captures you is better.
The fact is this puzzle just takes time. Visually it is lovely with a European flavor. And many of the mini quiz sections I found pleasant. In fact the whole game was pleasant it just requires a lot of patience. This game needs to be played like taking a leisurely walk. The problem is that some of the slowness is just technical like slow loading. The transitions between places are in awkward choppy steps rather than the visual traveling we are enjoying most of the time. It jars you out of the story and back to the awareness of playing. Go back and forth enough and you will probably just not immerse yourself in the game again. I might even pick this up as a free game. But unless you carefully play the demo and know the kinks and don't mind them, I cannot recommend it.
The fun factor was lost on me. The plot is never clarified and is not at all explained by what I encounter, what I do or the insane dialogue exchanged at the gate so I have no problem hearing. The mini games are tedious. The high security place has no security at all. I can reach into a shed from outside the fence, wander around openly unnoticed while I try to parse the clues into some sense of what is going on and why. Although it is creating earthquakes it is not swarming with the National Guard or Media nitwits. Who am I and why am I there? Most importantly it just never takes off as a cohesive storyline. I am still plodding around doing senseless things for unexplained reasons at the end of the demo. No No No guys.
This is a stunning game if you recognize that it is not the same as anything else you have played. It is a bit like the old narrative only games and a bit like some other odd problem solving games but it is not quite any of them. There are no lush graphics. There are hilarious cartoon characterizations though and they are exactly right for the game. You can try to win -- but it won't matter because the fun is in the playing not in solving the puzzles first. In fact, if you quickly solve a problem you miss all the witty conversations.
You will end up having to do exactly what is planned but everything in the scene has a possibility of being something you need now or later. Talk to everyone until you have milked every topic dry and you will learn things and enjoy yourself enormously. If you are wanting a game much like another you have played this is not it. If you want a game that turns out like having conversations with a troupe of traveling actors who are pulling your leg all the time than this is it.
You cannot lose in this game. If you use the tutorial it will lead you step by step so you don't have to figure anything out to solve it. But I promise you some of the things you will try will make your character look like an idiot. He will anyway so dive in and splash around. Play this when you have lots of time to invest because it is killer hard to stop playing once you start.
I recommend this game!

I love this game. I cannot give it 5 stars because it is not in that league. At the same time I cannot give it 3 because I adore it. It is a long droning narrative that begins with the star phrase "It was a dark night" and actually has the nerve to add as I drove down a "dark and long road" Now this is some of the best bad writing I have ever read. I would love to meet the author who hardly ever lets you see that he is talking with his tongue in his cheek but never stops doing it. The game is a hoot. You can no more compare it to other games than you can compare chess and Twister. Okay Twister is a stretch but you get the idea. Try it. If you hate it after a while no worries but if you are a sarcastic person give it a chance, it will seem like mother's milk.
I recommend this game!

If you have been complaining about hidden object games being all the same here is your present. This is a reflection of the 50's I almost pulled out of the game at first because the nerdy guys voice was so annoying but I stayed in. I am so glad I did. This is a great, inventive and challenging game. It does feel alien. You are playing games that are familiar but somehow they seem different within the frame of reference of the spaceship and live imaginary friend themes. Give it a try. Ignore the guy and keep going. . Visually it was not as clear as I would have liked and some of the sounds were really grating but that doesn't change the dynamic and exciting game play.

Night Mysteries: The Amphora Prisoner
Natalie has unwittingly embarked on a dangerous and exciting journey! Can she prevent ancient evil spirits from awakening?
I certainly never expected one little thing could make me quit a game instantly but it can.
I got to the command bridge and it was on fire. It said run for a bucket. Now I hadn't seen a bucket but I had seen two fire extinguishers. I went for them and couldn't pick them up of course. Now I don't mind having to use a piece of glass wrapped in tape to cut a blanket. I don't even mind having to build a grinding wheel to allow me to sharpen a knife for the job. But if you expect me to be such an idiot that I am going to wander around looking for a bucket when there are two fire extinguishers right at hand you are going to require me to be too stupid. If you don't want me to use a fire extinguisher to extinguish a fire then do not draw them in plain sight in the first five minutes of the game. Or at least expect players to think your game is not worth playing.sheesh.
I don't recommend this game.

There is a definite improvement in the graphics which can be considered artistic license as you get more into the game. The storyline is still completely literal and too directed even when I tried expert. When I finagle a key from the dog and it says 'car key' that is too much help. You cannot touch the keyboard during conversation or you will miss chunks of it. You have a candle with a plus sign and a box of matches with a plus sign. Hmm have to give that some thought. Maybe the hand holding lessens as the game goes on and maybe the story line begins to seem important at some point in the game but it didn't happen in the demo. Nice is what the game is.
