This is all you've come to expect from the ID team; you'll feel completely at home if you've played any of the previous IDs. Nice level of challenge and good graphics. However, and here is the big BUT, as with the previous couple of IDs, the game will randomly freeze, leaving no option but to ctl alt del to task manager and forcibly stop the game. Very frustrating on the harder levels when you are doing well for time.
I have long been a fan of the "roads" series, and this looks to have been produced with the same quality and challenge as before...aside from the voices. I'm sure you used to be able to mute the little workers but keep the general sounds effects, not so in this game, it's all or nothing. And I'm afraid that is a deal breaker for me. The incessant "on my way" for every action is, for me, intensely annoying. What a shame :(
I was excited to see a new Roads of Rome game, but, as others have mentioned before, there are glitches. The collection from the flowers being the most notable, and the most infuriating :( Also, playing on hard mode, the game starts off not showing the green ring around "ready" actions, and then about six levels in, it starts to do so. I don't want these in hard mode! This seems like there has been a rush to release the game before it had been thoroughly tested. I recommend this game, with caveats.

Thank goodness the devs had heard of the old adage "if it ain't broke, don't try and fix it!". This game has all the bits you loved from the last four Northern Tales; from the brilliant music, to the scratching wolves: it's all here. The graphics have been slightly "updated", but are pretty much the same. The game is straightforward, you clear, collect and achieve goals, all the while trying to find time to look for those (very!) well hidden caches. There are multiple orders in which you can do things, but only through trial and error will you discover the right one. Needless to say, I loved loved loved it, and can only hope that now Ragnar has been rejuvenated, Odin will find plenty of new quests for him...preferably about every six months :)
Absolutely excellent - and very welcome! Contains elements from both Roads of Rome and Adelantedo...the best elements! Just been replaying Adelantedo for the umpteenth time, so this game seems quite familiar. So much more than just a road clearing game, there are numerous and varied tasks to complete. Can't recommend it highly enough. All that's missing is Don Diego!

It's been a long time since I played a game which gave me such a sense of accomplishment when I manage to finish a level! Or so many occasions when I cried out with frustration when Munin bit the dust just before collecting the last feather on the level!! The objective is simple - collect all Munin's feathers, and the mechanics are easy to understand, even if the route you have to take sometimes takes some knight's-move thinking to work out. The game is rather dark, and you sometimes have to squint to see the details (or play in a darkened room!). The levels get progressively more difficult, with different hazards to overcome along the way.
Overall, thoroughly enjoyable and left me hoping that Munin has another Loki-induced moulting session soon...or I could just start the game again....

The first few levels may have you thinking "this is a doddle", but be prepared for the game to get harder and harder, with more elements to incorporate into your puzzle solving. It might seem odd to comment on the graphics, bearing in mind you play most of this game in the dark, but when you do get a glimpse of the world, it is beautiful. And the music is calming and gentle. The whole thing has a similar feel to "Leaves" about it - quite dreamy and otherworldly. I found myself totally engrossed, and I raced for the "buy it now" button when my trial had ended.
Because TM games are so few and far between, I tend to buy any that turn up. That said, I did in fact download the trial with this one...and was grinding my teeth with frustration before the end of four levels. Having now played many more after buying the game, I can honestly say they only get harder!
I concur with other reviewers who say this game doesn't grab you: it doesn't, but it's enough of a challenge to keep me engaged none the less. There isn't much of a plot/story-line, but never mind, it's a TM game, and in a desert where TM games are like oasis, it's a welcome sight!
It is rather as if several TM game devs got together in a room, got waaay too friendly, and gave birth to this game, because there are recognisable elements from a number of different games.
I have found a couple of glitchy levels where the mouse "floats", which is a pain because you have to be fast to get those three stars.

Even more happiness is that it looks as if those wonderful folk who designed the Epistory typing/origami game had a hand in the design of this game. It's pretty much the same format as the previous ID games - building, collecting, clearing and making - so no nasty surprises. Plenty of extras to find. Yes, there are hard levels, but surely that's the whole point?! All in all, it will keep me entertained for hours. *does Snoopy Happy Dance*

I've been a fan of VB for a long time, so bought this game without bothering with the demo. On the whole, it's okay, but I really don't like the new style graphics. All the necessary elements are there, clearing, mending, building, collecting, and the level of difficulty is good; I've had to replay a couple of the early levels a few times to get three stars...but, meh!, somehow it just doesn't grab me in the same way as the previous games have done, I've even realised I'd forgotten I downloaded it! Wish I could have liked it more :-(
