A welcome return to the land of the Treefruties, with more mind-boggling puzzles and plenty of knights-move thinking! The landscape is again surreal and reminiscent of Myst. A refreshingly different game which gives the old brain cells plenty of exercise.

My first thoughts upon entering Leaves, was "Myst": there is a rather lovely, surreal feel to the whole game, which reminded me so much of that well-loved game of old. The game moves in a similar fashion as well, with you having to solve puzzles to progress, using hints and items which you pick up along the way. Yes, the game is a challenge - one minute you will be grinding your teeth with frustration, several (quite a lot of several, in many cases!) minutes later you will be overwhelmed with a smug feeling of satisfaction when you finally have that "eureka! light-bulb" moment, and solve the puzzle - but that is a good thing! Too often, these days, games do too much hand holding: Leaves lets you find your own way. It's immersive, it's compulsive, and deserves to be highly recommended - I love it :-)

Thoroughly immersive; high quality graphics; great cut-scenes; challenging puzzles; interesting story-line; excellent voice actors - you've got it all! I had the pleasure of beta testing this game, and couldn't wait for it to be released. There really isn't anything bad I can say about it...although, warning! Make sure you have plenty of time, because once you start playing, you won't want to stop!

It's great to see another "road" time management game, but I would have liked something a little more challenging. The targets for each level are clear, and it is not too much of a struggle to get three stars. The graphics and the sound are okay. It would also have been nice to have faced different challenges on each of the four "zones". But all in all an okay game and probably good for players new to this genre. I did have some problems with characters "sticking", and whilst this was easily resolved by restarting the level, it was a little frustrating if they "stuck" close to me completing all my tasks!
I recommend this game!

After beta test and playing game demo:
I was surprised to see this so soon after I had done the beta test (about a week). It seems to be a game that has been rather rushed to the finish, and there are many places which could have stood a little more thought and work. Overall I like the graphics; there are some lovely, almost Dali-esque scenes, but sadly they don't really compensate for the otherwise "rough around the edges" aspects.
Even on what I concluded (although no real helpful indications) was the hardest setting, the hidden object games were sparkled almost immediately and there was a lot of "hand-holding". For a more novice player this might be helpful, but it's irritating that the degree of difficulty cannot be more fully controlled.
I had quite high hopes for this game after playing the demo: it's a shame they were not realised. Why ask for a beta test when you are not going to take on board any of the comments?
ALSO: If you have a widescreen monitor, it is MOST IMPORTANT to change the settings within the options menu. It is not immediately apparent that you are missing anything (and thus can spend quite a lot of time in confusion), until you change the setting.
I don't recommend this game.

Gave up after playing level five at least eight times and still not able to achieve the gold - not even close. Spent ages playing the level before as well, before I finally cracked it. Yes, challenges are good, and it's no fun if you can waltz through the levels without having your time management skills pushed. But this game was too frustrating for words. Which is sad, because overall I quite liked the whole set up. Had the road clearing bits of RtR and MKfaP, and some elements of VS, but the seeming lack of time to actually complete the quests makes it a no buy for me. It'll take a better man that I, Gunga Din, to master this one. :-(
