I bought the Collector's Edition of this game and loved it! I had played the first game in the series, Otherworld-Spring Of Shadows, and the sequel is equally well done. Once again we meet Fiona, who has not aged since the first episode. However, it is not necessary to play the first game as this is a new adventure. Beautiful graphics and a mixture of HOS and puzzles, some a little on the easy side, but enjoyable nonetheless. Although I think the game could have been more difficult, and is probably not for the hardcore adventure gamer, it is so beautifully done that I thought it deserved a 5 star rating, One of my favourite games to date.
Based on free trial 2 levels; regular and expert 2 types of HOS (as far as I played); list style and collect 12 of something. List style HOS are easy and only mildly interactive Non-interactive map Journal, which is redundant since objectives are flashed on screen during gameplay Story; after finding an ancient artifact, you set off in search of the Tree of Life. Of course there are 'bad guys'. In this case, they want your artifact. Nothing really new or exciting, but I did like the voiceovers. There are also 5 things to collect.that you use throughout the game. All in all, not a bad game; a bit choppy between scenes which I found disturbing considering the standards being set with today's games. I might get this game using a free coupon, but don't think I would purchase it.
Based on the free trial. 2 levels; normal and hard. Good voiceovers. Beautiful graphics. List style HOS, with some of the objects quite hard to find. Hint button for both HOS and story There are many things to collect more than one of, i.e.there is more than one part to collect before you can unlock a door etc Updated objectives
You are a princess returning home to your kingdom after receiving a summons from Reko, a loyal dwarf. Upon your arrival your coachman is killed by an archer. Reko fills you in on what has been happening. An evil sorcerer, Zarrar, who your father banished from the kingdom, has returned. Now it is up to you to save the kingdom, and your possessed brother. I will never get tired of this kind of fairy tale type game. The adventure is fairly easy to follow and the different scenes are beautifully portrayed. Though the story is nothing really new, it is so well done I can overlook it. I will be buying this one!
Based on the free trial. I could not decide whether I liked this game or not. The story is the same tired old 'go to such-and-such a place to meet so-and-so but of course when you get there the person is missing and you are threatened by dark shadow/apparition/evil entity' etc etc. and of course it is gloomy and raining and.there is a thunderstorm. In this case, you have gone to meet your daughter in Italy because she has met an artist who can paint the future. Predictable at best. Having said that, the graphics are well done and the music is quite unobtrusive. The voice overs are pretty good, although it annoyed me that the characters lips didn't move when they talked to you. 3 levels of play, no map, nothing to collect. There are lots of puzzles and HOS, with some of the HOS as mildly interactive lists, and some as silhouettes. No matter where you go, you must collect useful objects , either by HOS or puzzle or simply on the ground, because there are a ton of things to fix! If you love puzzles I would say you'd like this game, but if you're tired of the same old story, I would recommend playing the trial first. For that reason, I am neither giving it a negative nor a positive recommendation.
Based on the free trial. 3 levels Beautiful graphics. Interactive map. Fairy collectibles. Strategy guide Mixture of puzzles, some standard, some very easy, but enough variety to keep it fun. HOS are interactive I loved the first game in this series, Otherworld-Spring Of Shadows, and as far as I played, this sequel did not disappoint. Once again we meet Fiona, who has not aged since the first episode. However, it is not necessary to play the first game as this is a new adventure. Although I think the game could have been more difficult, and is probably not for the hardcore adventure gamer, it is so beautifully done that I thought it deserved a 5 star rating, I will definitely be buying it!
After being away for a month I was quite excited to see this game pop up, so I downloaded the trial. Glad I didn't use my free coupon. I didn't mind the graphics; I've seen worse. The voiceovers were okay until I talked to the barmaid, which is right at the beginning of the game. She was so hard to understand I turned off the sound. I only played 15 minutes of the trial and it was one cluttered HOS after another, which is an immediate turn off for me. I won't be recommending this one, and I certainly won't be buying it.
The Brothers Grimm have assigned the task of revealing the truth behind missing children in the town of Arbourshire; it is up to you to discover the secrets of the Fairy Tale Mystery, before it is too late.
I reviiewed the CE for this game at the beginning of December, and my opinion hasn't changed. I knew I wouldn't be buying it after playing only 30 mins of the free trial, whereas I normally will play an entire demo before making up my mind whether to buy or not. 2 levels List style HOS short, very basic tutorial (which is all that's needed) fast hint button I was disappointed with several aspects of this game. There were 3 hidden objects scenes in the first fifteen minutes I played, which is far too many for me, and they weren't interactive, so rather boring. Mini games were too easy. No map. Nothing to collect. Having said that, the artwork is beautifully done. I also enjoyed the voiceovers, the story line and the music, all of which stop me from giving a less than 3 star rating. This could have been a wonderful game, but for me, it fell short of the mark.
When your daughter, Emily, is taken over by a mysterious force, you must travel to the Nightmare Realm to search for a cure. But nothing could have prepared you for what you find there…
I started playing the trial and thought it was just going to be the same old fare; widowed mother must save only child from alternate dimension inhabited by monsters. And it did, indeed, start off that way. But when the mother steps through the portal, into the other world, the story takes an interesting turn! I only encountered one list style HOS in the trial and it was interactive. Graphics are beautiful, music is suitable, some voiceover. Strategy guide Everything about this game is well done. The devs have taken a tired old tale and made it magical. I loved everything about it and will definitely be buying it.
I recommend this game!

The Missing: Island of Lost Ships
After setting out to search for your missing friend, you find yourself trapped on the mysterious Island of Lost Ships.
Based on trial -3 levels -map, bit it's not interactive -list style HOS, somewhat cluttered, but fairly easy -some standard puzzles, some a little different -nice background music, believable voiceovers -Great graphics and animation. Characters moved fluidly -unique story.
If you're after something slightly out of the ordinary, and are a fan of list style HOS, this is the game for you. A fairly even blend of hidden object, puzzle and adventure with an interesting storyline.
I bought this game a little while ago but saved it for now and have just finished the main story. I am looking forward to playing the bonus chapter. Game is based on the classic story of The Nutcracker.
Beautiful artwork Variety of puzzles, some easy, some tricky, all of them fun. I loved everything about this game, especially the rat king, and thoroughly enjoyed playing it. What a Christmas treat!
