Jips is a Jigsaw Ship Puzzles Game. My review is based on the 1 hr trial. Graphics were beautiful lg sailing ships. 1st you choose between Asian, Mediterranean, or Caribbean ships. I chose Caribbean. The trial only had 3 of 6 ships unlocked for the trial. You couldn't see what the other ships would look like if you purchased the game, which was very disappointing.
Once you choose the ship you then have the option of playing the puzzle in 3 diff sz, 6X8(48pc), 12X16(208pc), or 15X20(300 pc). I played a 6X8 first. The puzzle mat was in the center third of my screen as shown on the Big Fish description pg. Graphics were great and the music was calm/peaceful. When I moved onto the largest puzzles, I thought the puzzle pc sz would increase in sz also, it did not. The 300 pcs for the 15X20 sz were still only taking up the same area that the 48 pcs of the 6X8 puzzle did, meaning the pcs became TINY (1/6th sz). The description pg shows both the 12X16 & a 15X20 puzzle, so be sure to click on each of those pictures to be sure that you can see them well enough as they will only be slightly larger than shown on that pg.
Pcs are lined up down the Rt side & you can move pcs around and sort them as you would when you do a real puzzle. Once you choose the picture of the ship you are going to do, you do not have a picture of the ship on your screen to refer to. There is a magnifying glass in the upper left that when you click it, it will bring up a picture of the ship at the completed size but, while in this mode, your pcs are locked from being moved. If you need to see a picture to complete the puzzle this could be a very frustrating aspect of this game as you will need to keep clicking back and forth to determine where a specific pc needs to be placed. When you are placing pcs, if you are within a puzzle pc of where the pc belongs, the game will grab the pc and lock it into place. This would allow you to just click along a whole row to see if the game would solve where the pc belongs, instead of req the player to study the pcs to figure out where the piece belongs.
While I enjoyed the 2 puzzles I did during my trial, the sm size of the pcs in the lg puzzles and the lack of a picture on screen while doing the puzzle plus the inability to view pictures of the ships that would be available if the game were purchased made this game a pass for me. As with all games, try it for yourself first before purchasing. Happy Gaming!
I don't recommend this game.

Gave this game a try and unfortunately I am not impressed. I am grateful someone said that the food we were giving the hippo was a watermelon but since when do watermelons grow in trees not on the ground from a vine? Whatever it was (or is) it looked like a lg red balloon that I could pick but was unable to feed to the hippo. Then came another animal coming out of the backside of the hippo. It almost looked like it gave birth to a brown animal like maybe a hyena or some kind of deer like animal. Not sure what that was suppose to be but that scene was enough for me to exit the game. I do not want to explain that scene to our 4yr old grandson! Oh my!
The main menu page is a confusing mix of pictures that are sharp or blurred. There is room for 6 players & allows both letters & numbers with up to 12 spaces for the players name. The back ground/ sky are blurry, the animals are sharp& clear. The girl(who you are playing as) stands next to the tree up close is blurry& the signs on the tree are sharp/ clear though the games name is floating up and down like a balloon above the signs. Obviously they tried to do too many things on this page. The signs were Play, Options, Credits and Exit.
Options- check or un-check - resolution with various settings, quality(low, med, high), shadows, blur, window, smooth camera, hardware cursor, music 1-10, sounds1-10. Not sure what several are even for.
Credits- I was reading the names & many had a symbol like the top of the question mark, I have no idea what letter that was suppose to be.
The Project Manager was a JAN RO?YCKI. Sadly the lettering throughout is all capitals with drips off the bottoms of the letters which makes it difficult to read in an ideal situation but many times this text is far too small.
Instructions that are easier to read and clearer to understand are needed. I felt fortunate that I seemed to guess correctly at what I was to do but do not like feeling confused as to what the game wants me to do or how I need to do something. The time line across the top of the screen is not clear enough being that you must click on the different locations so you can jump to that location so you can do things there as the boat is at those locations.
The monkey area & also the right side of the boat staging area, the graphics are striped, like part of the program was missing. Other areas are complete but all the edges look unfinished with zig zag edges. Many areas seem incomplete.
I don't recommend this game.

You play as either the chick or ducky and the goal is to store enough food for winter by gathering mainly seeds and also the occasional worm without running into the kittens. It was a cute idea to have the kitty running from the chick or duck if they had found one of the feathers that made them Angry Ducky or Super Chicky for a short period of time. Once all seeds are located then the exit route is opened. The task is the same level to level, store food and stay away from kittens. No screen is suppose to duplicate and some power ups are available as the game goes on. I loved the premise but first was unable to alter the volume or other normal options as available in the newer games and controls were only available by keyboard...no mouse...I have windows 7. So unless there is a newer release with updated controls then I'll pass. If it was updated I would have purchased for my 4yr old grandson though I would have not have been interested for myself.
Recommended for players who want an arcade style game that do not mind playing with the keyboard controls and adjusting volume through their master volume on their computer rather than options in a game. Especially suited for young kids. This game was created by 8&10yr old brothers in 2006 and released in 2007. I gave 3's down the scoring board since if you do not mind keyboard controls and arcade type games this could be just what you are looking for, but for myself it would have been 1's and 2's.

You play the role of an idolized god. Your job is to guide, feed & protect these furry four legged friends, called Meums, while exploring their planet Meotom. General Flea is your guide & scout. The goal is to get your little group of Meums to the blue exit dot on each level field while keeping them safe, fed & directing them in the most direct path to the blue dot exit by laying down the pieces of road to achieve that goal. At first glance this seems like a simple game much like pipes by making roads using 3 different shapes of road: straight road, a 45 degree sharp corner and a 135 degree gradual corner.
I failed the tutorial TWICE and several of the first levels by killing my Meums by starvation as their shadows slowly floated toward heaven. May their souls rest in peace It will take some planning and strategy to pass all these levels. So I exited and regrouped and started over this time starting by reading all the instructions.
For a simple game it had 4 pgs of instructions. Even more was included when explaining flowerpower and investing in new skills so be sure to look this up when you get to these levels. For now just the basics. Though labeled for full screen it stayed tiny about a 6"X9"screen, way too sm when trying to read 4 pgs of instructions. Settings allowed you to turn off/on all sound, adj music& sound effects separately, graphic quality, full screen mode, & General Fleas tips. This is an un-timed game. You can build as many roads as you like and road pcs are un-limited though every dropped or placed road pc will cost you points at the end of the mission. Short and direct is the way to earn higher pts. Completed missions earn mission pts, short cut bonus is based on # of road pcs used to get to the exit. Bonuses are also awarded depending on the health and nutrition of your Meums as well as from sowing /growing seeds. If they are getting hungry they will have a thought bubble w/ grass in it. As the Meums are walking they will pick up seeds & they will go into your inventory. You need to take them and place them along the finished roadway where grass is needed so they will sprout and grow in time for the Meums to eat when they walk by. Only 2 seeds per each field. General Flea also picks up seeds. Game recommends blocking Meums from walking until you finish your road..then unblock them. You can also speed them up or slow them down as needed.
I recommend this game!

Match 3 with a simple story line which may have improved with later levels but I was not going to be the one to find out. The opening screen movement of rows of emotion cubes moving up and down was enough to trigger nausea for me. I played only the first 3 levels of the game. I was hoping things would improve once away from the motion sickness of the opening screen but sadly I was wrong. The game was difficult to play with all the explosions and visual sparkles upon matching combinations. Sadly even turning the volume down to the lowest setting before silence was not enough and the visuals were way beyond over the top and I am still seeing flashing lights even as I type this several minutes later. Those sensitive to stobing lights or seizures be HIGHLY warned to stay away.
I don't recommend this game.

More of a marble shooter game than a match 3. Sadly only a timed version which ruined it for me. The game has a one paragraph story. Those players that enjoy this type of marble shooter game & timer may enjoy the game play as it has several power up possibilities.
Marbles will load a fish bowl from two dragons mouths, one from each side. The graphics of the dragons with the flames coming from the nostrils sounds better in writing about them, than they were in reality.
As the marbles load, any matches will flow vapors of steam away toward the lower left side of the screen. Kind of like the dragon burned them away& builds up power. Power ups will be available later. Bomb, timer, lightning bolt & fire. 35 levels up the mountain and 35 down- yes I counted the steps. Option of switching 1st marble with 2nd which adds to game play possibilities.
No signing in of your name but opening screen had Play,Options & Exit.
Options page includes sliders for effects which was music and environment volume which was sound effects. The music was calm and peaceful and the environmental sounds were marbles clicking, a bit of dramatic sounds as each scene began or ended and some birds chirping. You could also use a slider scale for your screen resolution and it would automatically set to your computers needs. You could also choose to un-click the full screen option. Also from the options page you could choose to click on reset game or achievements.
There are 12 achievements but I could only read the first 5 as they are locked from sliding to read the remaining. NOT sure WHY????
#1 Match 4- making of 20 matches of 4 marbles
#2 Match 5- making of 10 matches of 5 marbles
#3 Zen Marbles- complete 20 levels w/o power wheel
#4 Bomadier- use of 4 bombs in the game
#5 Power User-use power wheel 10 times
Each achievement keeps count of your totals.
The goal is to match all marbles with the puzzle pieces on them. Each level a piece was added to a 9 piece puzzle in the top left. You must create matches of three or more of the other colored marbles so that those marbles will be turned to smoke vapors. Marbles in the bowl must be touching to count as a match 3 or more but when dropping the marble I found the marbles in the bowl were not always quite touching but when I dropped the marble they disappeared.
Hopefully this game will appeal to marble shooter lovers who also enjoy being timed. I along with many of the other reviewers wish it had a un-timed version as I may have enjoyed playing the game longer than the demo.
I recommend this game!

Kingdom of Seven Seals by Big Fish Games and Puppet Life. My review is based on my completion of the game played on the hardest setting (since I failed to check the options before starting my game).
Princess Vita must run all over the kingdom to 17 homes of the fairy tale type citizens including fairies, ogre, mermaids, trolls and druids just to name a few, doing favors for the citizens so that she can get the 7 seals and restore the kingdom and not only save the royal family but also the children of the citizens that the witch took hostage also.
This game is more adventure than HOG. I found it a fun game that I was able to play with my grandson minus the slot machines used to earn money to bribe the witches "goons" or robbers. Though if VERY VERY careful (plus very observant- to get an extra misc item on the road side) you could possibly...maybe... get through without visiting the slot machines but it would be difficult!
The game loads pre set to the hardest setting. There are differences in the game dialog and screen set up depending on the level of difficulty that you choose. There are things that were intentionally left out to make the harder levels more difficult, which explains the frustration that many players expressed on the forum pages and the lack of instructions. The options page has a slider settings for 3 levels of difficulty, 10 levels for the music and 10 levels for the sound effects. They also had boxes to check to mute all, full screen and custom cursor. There are spaces for up to 5 players.
You have a fairy who is your helper through a majority of the game. She offers little help on the most difficult level. She is located on the lower left. In front of her is a scroll of paper that will return you to the main menu. There is a button on the lower right that once pushed will show a small map of the kingdom and remains on there after. The white dot is your current location and the gold dots are locations with active tasks to accomplish. It would have been even more helpful if the map had transported you to the location, but at least your current movement was shown, which was very helpful as you are continually criss crossing the whole kingdom. Under the map in the lower right is a book or journal that looks like a scroll. It includes 3 tabs, first is a task list that checks off the items as you complete them, then a short history of the kingdom and finally a map with each characters name listed. If you mouse over the house a picture of each occupant will appear. There are also signs outside each house with their pictures also. The map shows the roads, rivers and homes in the kingdom plus the 3 slot machine homes to earn more money if needed for the highway robbers. The slot machine can be played for as long as you desire and each of the 3 money houses are the same. The inventory for most of the items is located at the bottom of the screen except the seven seals, which are located at the top of the screen.
Between the book and the fairy helper, the game still tends to hold your hand rather tightly as most tasks must be done in a certain order to progress. The conversations are important to read so you will know which home you need to travel to and what you must do. Sometimes you are given multiple steps to be done. Each scene seemed to have an adventure type task, a small HOG scene of 8-12 items for the hardest level with a few less on the easier levels and then a few also had a puzzle type game. Few instructions were given on the hardest setting but were not too difficult to figure out. Here again the games were slightly altered depending on the difficulty level you choose. Items do vary when additional profiles are added.
As the princess is traveling be sure to have her pick up any jewels, gold or misc items as all items will be of use at some point. Misc items were not explained in the game but the producers of Puppet Life responded in the forums and explained the skill that each item provided the princess or unicorn with, plus they answered many questions of where to go and what to do type of questions. Kudos should be given for their customer service as not too many developers come in and answer questions and take the critical comments along with the positive. Their forum posts gave many spoilers so be forewarned if you read them. Once the princess is within a few steps of an item the cursor will turn to a hand to retrieve the item. The book is very helpful when you get stuck as it tells you the task that you need to do. The game allows you to go where you want to go therefore you may finish certain tasks before the developers had planned for a scene to be done. There fore it is understandable that you will be told that "there is nothing for you to do here" when you go searching through homes when you missed where you were told to go in a conversation or you just plain forgot between your gaming sessions.
In closing this was a great little adventure game light on the hidden object's and well worth the $2.99 on sale or as the Daily Deal or Game of the Week.
I recommend this game!

Based on 60 minute trial
Story line: Based on the movie by the same name. Main character Patti Montanari worked as a money courier for the Mob in NYC until she fled with her children to Florida to remove the children from the mob environment. Her hope was to prevent her children from being drawn into the mob. When her son Nino travels back to the old neighborhood Mom(you) follow to help make sure he is safe and out of danger. Unfortunately a turf war between the Italian and Russian mobs is going on. The areas that are searched will include items that would be associated with mob activity such as various guns, ammo, knives, brass knuckles, listening devices(bugs), racing & betting slips and drugs. Drugs included both pills & a bottle of chloriform and needles for injection. As this is a game based on her past mob employment illegal activities should not be surprising.
Game play: Probably OK for the beginner player but I found it boring and slow. It also seems illogical to be counting butterflies in the park while looking for your missing son Nino who may have been taken by the mob. A irritating part of the game is that you must click "next" in each text box to progress the story and the boxes move from the top to the bottom of the screen, which slows you down on clicking through the text boxes. A reviewer in the forums stated that the game was about 2 hours long.
Hidden Objects: Items to be found make sense in the setting that you search and the graphics are not bad. Some items can be VERY small. Single earrings and cuff links will likely test your eye sight. You will also loose count of how many torn up notes, clothing and broken items you will find. Even when you find torn up pieces of a note the game will put them together for you which was a lost opportunity for the creators.
Hints: The hint circle disappears very quickly so be sure to pay attention if you need to use the hint or you may need to use a second hint to spot where they were highlighting. At least the hint recharges in 23 seconds so you won't need to wait long. The cursor will spin if you over click but since hints are unlimited and refill quickly I found them helpful when locating some of the teeny tiny earrings and other small items that were in just about every scene.
Mini Games: The mini games were before /after photos to spot the difference and you had to mark them on the present side only. Then there was film of various scenes where you identify where the photo was taken within the scene. For these the film was black and white and you had to be very exact for the game to mark it as found.
Settings: Not timed. No wide screen. No voices. Don't even recall optional skill settings. Several different areas were searched during my trial period; a home, grocery, alley, restaurant, strip club, funeral home and a park but toward the end of the trial I was back to repeating areas.
One reviewer in the forums compared "Wisegal" to the games "The Tudors" and "Righteous Kill" but I have not played either and if they are similar then I likely would never try either as I was unimpressed with "Wisegal". Wisegal is definitely not up to the current standard of HOG games but possibly still worth $2.99 as a DD as long as you like the story line and it matches your HOG skill level.
I don't recommend this game.

This game had such potential! The story develops as you find a town of people frozen in time & they tell you what they were doing at the time that the lightning came & froze them. They give you clues at what needs to be done & the info is put into a diary. I have no idea of who I am in this game & why am I even in their little town trying to find a solution for them,……. and the confusion begins.
So much more could have been done in each of the areas that you visit which could have made this an awesome game. It seems like they only used each scene to stage a mini game or HOG scene but they failed to develop the story around each area.
The concept of having to do multiple tasks to complete an item in the HOG scenes was awesome, as were most of the graphics, but then in the very same scene, there were very small or hard to identify items, and I have good eye sight. And just wait until you see how you use a rose thorn. Confusing! When you struggle and work to solve a task over 8 or 10 scenes you expect fireworks not a sparkler that fizzles, pops & burns out and that’s how many of the tasks felt to me, like the story fizzled and popped but that’s all when the makings of a grand finale were there to work with. They showed us bits and scenes of greatness and I wanted MORE.
It almost seems as though 2 different people with vastly different skill levels worked on each area. The whole game seemed to go from very high, highs to very low, lows often within the same scene, which left me feeling un settled or confused about the game as a whole.
Several of the mini games seemed to have glitches (I was playing the updated version). There were 3-4 mini games that the step back arrow was so close to the cursor arrow that I kept exiting the scene by accident. One of those games, when I re-entered the mini game, it skipped right over the game, as if I had completed it. One of the pipe games gave me fireworks as completed but I had not finished rotating all the pipe pieces and my "finished" version did not look like the walk through showed. Too little instruction was given for some of the mini games. The whole game seemed to go back and forth between highs & lows and unfortunately with the ending they never even talk to the people once they are unfrozen which left me even more disappointed and let down...... and ultimately frustrated with the game.
The developers showed us that they were capable of greatness, instead of grasping that ring of greatness and developing the story and each scene more fully, they teased us & backed away from the greatness and instead they choose mediocrity and rough edges in their rush to complete the game. The greatness was there, so it is a shame that they let the greatness slip through their fingers like sand, and ultimately settled for mediocre.
I recommend this game!

Game is by Astar Games, Nevosoft, also the makers of Mushroom Age, Vampireville and the part one of this story but they can easily be played out of order. I actually think it is better NOT to play them close together as they seemed to create characters that looked VERY similar. So one stories "bad guy", looks like the other stories "good guy"...a bit confusing.
The main character is Laura Jones, a young adventurer who is accompanied by her pet ferret, "Ferris", who loves to play hide and seek. Laura picks up a puzzle box, left to her Gramma, by Nikola Tesla. Nikola Tesla invented something that if it fell into the wrong hands, could be quite dangerous. To help safe guard the item the parts are divided up and given to several of his friends or associates who promise that they or their desendants will safeguard the item they have been given and they are to put any person requesting the item through some creative tests.
I almost deleted the demo when I had to search her bag for the third time, and again when trying to get into Gramma's house but I am VERY glad I stuck with it through the demo. I purchased as a DD and played straight through. The music was annoying at times so I turned it down low. I also noticed 1 "bad word" near the beginning for those with children. You can choose to skip the mini games and do a HOG instead, but I loved the mini games. I checked the table of contents page once I completed the game and found that there were 14 levels and 18+ various mini games. Ten of the games were available to play seperately once you finished that level but you can also go back in and play any level so you are still able to replay the parts you like without having to replay much of the other parts of the game if your favorites are not one of the 10 offered. A few of the games are new to me but most are commonly seen. Some of the HO's are small or difficult to find. Most of the mini games are well explained and not too difficult but a couple take some real thought. For example, I was playing the extras after I completed the game and I came to an "untangle the string" that had 30 starting ports and up to 8 strings on each port...Yes, that one took awhile, but I love this kind of challenge!
Mini games offered
*Untangle the string
*Catch the Mouse- Hat Drop- new to me
*Lock
*Block the Motorcycle- new to me
*Gears
*Tangram
*Reversi
*Pipes
*Catch the falling Eggs
*Puzzles
Other games occuring within the game
*Find the Difference
*Crystal Gem, Knock out
*Ball Bearing through A Maze
*Catch the Mice- slightly different than the other mouse game
*Globes in Order
*Hangman
*Balance weights
*Cooking
*Fireworks Dragon- new to me
Though the graphics and story do not compete with ERS games, this game has good replay value since you can choose to play through the story line choosing to play only the HO scenes or just play the mini games. Plus you also have the extra games available when you access the mini games from the menu page. Throw in that this game is being offered as a DD for $2.99 and it is an AWESOME Deal!
I recommend this game!
