I like to do nonograms from time to time so decided to try this one based on the good reviews.
This is not your typical easy nonogram game. It definitely takes some thinking to finish some of the harder ones. After you work on one color, you switch to another color--this usually helps solve some of them. So many of these type of games have an abstract pattern to finish but in this game, the pictures make sense. I have solved some of them by just looking at the picture.
The only down side I can see for this game is I haven't figured out how you can go back and re-do a puzzle that you didn't finish perfectly.
I anticipate purchasing the rest of the games in this series.
I recommend this game!

This game is SO MUCH FUN! There are two types of games to play. The traditional "Griddlers" type and a fill pix type.
The traditional griddlers are a little confusing at first because the squares come up different colors and when you destroy a square it fades out. Once you get used to it, you are good to go. I love the fact that they make an actual picture as opposed to a random design.
The fill pix type was something new to me and VERY confusing. I admit that the tutorial was not the best. I had to hunt around to figure out how to do it. Once I figured it out, it was so much fun--a change from the traditional game. Once again, it forms an actual picture.
I highly recommend this game.

This game was a very good length. No timer but it took me a few hours to complete.
Very good use of cut scenes without it overtaking the story.
Level of difficulty was probably more challenging than most. The HO scenes were not too cluttered and it was usually pretty hard to find one or two objects. Most of them had one or two interactive objects to find. Lots of mini-games--some of them were unique. Nothing too difficult but not super easy--I did not need to skip any of them in advanced mode.
I don't want to give away the story but it was really different and very interesting. A unique thing about this game was the use of the "helpers". That was a clever addition.
Had a map that told you where you were and where something could be done which would also transport you, though I didn't find the trek between scenes too excessive.
The CE has objects to find. They were pretty easy, though I missed two.
The only con I have--and not a big enough deal to knock off a star--the bonus game was extremely short and I didn't understand the ending at all. I don't buy the CE for the bonus play so that didn't bother me.
I recommend this game!

This game didn't have a timer but it was a really long game, taking you through very different places to explore and solve mysteries--all within the same storyline. It took me a week of off and on play to finish.
One of the differences in this game than others I have played that made for a nice change of pace was that you sometimes had to use inventory items for an interactive HOS object and sometimes you wouldn't find those inventory items for quite a while after you encountered the HOS. It wouldn't tell you that exactly. Sometimes you figured it out by the message you would get when clicking on an object--so keep that thought as you play the game.
Graphics were good, HOS not too jumbled, HOS and mini-games were mildly challenging--nothing too difficult or too easy.
I would have given this game 5 stars except for 3 minor things.
1) When you got the magnifying glass to look at something, the area to click on was huge. So you would think you found a new spot only to click on it and get the same thing you just looked at. That is somewhat annoying.
2) If you asked for a general hint in playing the game, it would tell you EXACTLY what to do. I don't call that a hint and it spoiled it a bit.
3) Towards the end, there were a couple of things you had to do that made no sense at all. Like sawing a piece of wood with a string?!!!!?
Overall, though, it was better and certainly longer than a lot I have played.
I recommend this game!

This review is based on the trial version.
EVERYTHING you see is either a HOS or a lock or something you need to go find. A cut scene is shown and then you go through several places where you need to find something. Generally, you find it fairly quickly and then to another cut scene. Doesn't seem as though you are actually playing out a story. The video plays the story and then you find some things to get to the next video. I at least want to feel as though I am becoming part of the story and I didn't get that from the first hour.
I decided not to buy.
Some of the graphics were OK but sometimes they seemed too cartoonish. The "actors" were stills with voice overs. Everything was pretty easy to find and the puzzles were easy.
If you like a lot of things to do and find easily without much involvement in the story, you might like this game.
I don't recommend this game.

This sequel to the 1000 door Family Secret game did not disappoint!
This game was really fun--I hated it to end. It does not have a timer but the length of the game was good--took me about 4 days of off and on play.
This game, as the first one, was more like 5 mini games all tied into one so the scenery did not get monotonous. There were morphing objects to find and all the HOS were interactive. There was a map that told you where you were and where there was a possible interaction which also took you there automtically.
The only down side to this game is the level of challenge. I played in Expert mode and it was still fairly easy. If they make the next one more challenging, it will be perfect. Will be looking forward to it.
I recommend this game!

I did the trial version first and was interested enough to buy the whole thing but midway through I kind of lost interest.
HOS were interactive and only mildy challenging. One thing I did really like was the "reverse HOS" where you had objects that you had to place into a scene. Sounds easy but it wasn't always and it was a nice change of pace.
What I didn't like is that the things you had to find and do just did not seem logical to me. I had to consult the Strategy Guide #in game# several times because of this and, if you have to do that, the game is no longer fun and you are just doing things by rote. I like to be able to figure things out but I felt as though there was no way some of it was even logical.
I also wasn't all that interested in the storyline as it went along. Just didn't do it for me.
I don't recommend this game.

I don't give out 5 stars too often, but I really had to give it to this one.
I had so much fun playing this game. I play these games in small spurts of anywhere to 1/2 hour to probably no more than 2 hours and I couldn't wait to get back to it each time. It was a fairly long game (no timer but I'm thinking at least 6 to 7 hours for me# and I hated to see it end.
There were really 5 different story lines #mysteries to solve# within the one game. The puzzles and HOS ranged from easy to quite challenging. All of the HOS had a few interactive objects and even with the very clear graphics #not a mass of jumbled things thrown together) some items were hard to find. There were a few HOS that I had to use hints on and one mini-game I had to skip. The graphics and music were excellent. The music and sound effects were mostly very soothing and changed with each room or story line so it didn't get monotonous.
There was a map to refer to if you got stuck that would show you where you were and where there was an area that you needed to interact with. To me, that was far better than trying to consult a strategy guide or walkthrough. You did not necessarily find the objects right around where you needed them but there wasn't a lot of undue going from one place to another. Sometimes you would find an object quickly and other times when you knew fairly early you needed something and didn't find it until almost the end. It was fun to finally find or figure out something just when you thought you weren't ever going to need it!
I am looking forward to playing the other "1,000 Door" games.
I recommend this game!

I played 40 minutes of the trial version and quit.
Maybe some would like this game but I was totally bored. The hidden object scenes were all fragments of fabricated items so it is a matter of finding parts of "mystical" things by looking at the silhouette of the fragments and finding them in the scene. Most of them were super easy to find (think a part of some mechanism sitting in a bush) but some of them are hard because they don't necessarily look exactly like the silhouette and aren't in the same position.
The graphics and music are pretty good but the story line was practically non-existant. The puzzles were extremely easy.
No challenge and no fun for me on this one.
I don't recommend this game.

This is a review of the trial version. I decided not to buy it.
Thought I would try this game as it was a different story line than the "haunted houses" HO games #not that I mind them, but thought I'd try a change#.
The good: Graphics and especially the cut scenes were really, really good. A map that shows you where you are, if you still need to do something in that location and allows you to teleport to that location.
The not so good: Even though the video was good, I want to play a game, not watch a movie--too many videos, in my opinion.
The bad: Generally speaking, you would find a missing object in or near the same scene. I didn't come across any puzzles, it was just a matter of finding things to fix something or complete something to make a door open, at least in this trIal version. HO scenes were very easy and I played in expert mode. I just couldn't get into the storyline. It didn't hold my interest and I made myself finish the trial period so I could give an adequate review.
I don't recommend this game.
